THANK YOU for saying this. I hate the corporateness of webtoons and how they always push the creators for more content & to appeal to the algorithm. It kills the original idea spirit of webcomics where one person can make whatever crazy idea they want. Also I would never join Webtoons & give them ownership of my creations.
W
That's why I enjoy the Canvas Webtoons more. They don't get updated as much but you can tell theres a lot more love put into them than some Webtoons tbh
@@SpagettiSpeltWrong if you post on canvas does Webtoons own them?
@@rootfish2671I believe Webtoon only has control over the Webtoon Originals. Canvas Webtoons are not managed by the team. However, if a comic on canvas catches the eye of Webtoon, it might become an Original.

“Muted” is a webtoon I will definitely always recommend. The art style is beautiful and the plot is captivating. It has a matriarchal magic society set in the contemporary world. It deals with abuse trauma and loss very nicely. It has a sapphic poly romance. And it has some amazing plot twists and character building. I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone reccomending it so far

I was hoping someone suggested Muted. ❤️❤️
Okay I've been meaning to read it in so long and I'm definitely gonna read it now
Stop it's literally so good!! The art, the characters, the story! It's one of my top 5 fav webtoons!
I love that one! The art style is beautiful and the characters are so interesting. Another great webtoon I’d recommend is Nevermore. It’s another sapphic one that’s based a bit around the works of Edgar Allen Poe but with a bit more of a spooky twist. The art style is so pretty and the general vibe is so interesting.
“Everything is Fine” is a pretty good webcomic, set in a dystopia society

A webtoon I haven't read in awhile that I remember being godly was Cursed Princess Club (I stopped reading out of laziness, not a nose dive in plot quality). Not only is there a special soundtrack that plays while you read each chapter, but the story overall is just really wholesome. It's about this club of princesses (and one dude) trying to feel better about their curses. Kinda like a support group but more fairytale driven. It helped me feel better about a lot of my insecurities back in the day, so as you can imagine, the character growth is pretty satisfying. I've got other suggestions, but I'll just leave this comment here. Cursed Princess Club deserves the traction.
ITS SO GOOOD
I LOVE THAT ONE!
IT WAS MY FIRST READ ON WEBTOON
THIS IS A TOP TIER RECOMMENDATION!!!! you’re 1000% right about it being wholesome, well-drawn, really interesting characters and story, and the music is a cool touch!!
You should totally try to catch up!! The webtoon's actually been on hiatus for the last couple of months because of the author working on a physical book (a lot of the early art being redone) and working on future chapters!! The last update is sooooooo so so much...
the fact that all of the webtoons mentioned besides boyfriends have been impeccable down to the finest detail and these ads make them seem like dogshit is astoundingly horrendous
Well, I wouldn't say impeccable...
even Boyfriends as the comic is way better than the whole webtoon animated ads debacle. Now imagine that ad but dubbed in different language, that's one of the cringe ever
Lore Olympus 🤮

@@shinjite06 Mary Sue but we go back to the original meaning
Lately, Webtoons have been crumbling. I notice new series are being shoved in every day, mostly international series. And the Webtoon translation team is being overworked tremendously to keep up. And Webtoons are starting to pander to late trends, focusing on hamfisted representation rather that story that naturally and gracefully represents the LGBTQIA+ community, races, religions, etc. (ALSO, if you're looking for controversial Webtoons, look no further than The Princesses' Jewels.)
im curious... ive never heard of that one so why it it controversial?
also a youtuber named Fionapollo did a video reguarding issues with Webtoon and the commercial webcomic scene in general. its a good watch.
There was a whole CP controversy surrounding the illustrators and even ignoring that the story is not that great 😐
@@bur.burrei ah unfortunate
@@JDReC100 As a person who's read it myself, the best description I could give you is "A sacrilegious attempt at Polyamorous relationships."
I can understand where they tried to go with it. Breaking stereotypical norms that are rooted in misogynistic society as a whole. A strong, female lead who is confident in her sexuality.
The only problem is.. she did it all wrong. The story itself is literally just one big coercion plot. Polyamory (not to be confused with Polygamy) is when three or more people are in a singular and consenting relationship with eachother. There are many different forms; like one in the video, Boyfriends, has a "unicorn relationship." Where all the characters are dating eachother. In The Princess' Jewels, it's an A/B/C relationship. These guys are dating the princess only, but not eachother. (This is a common trope in Harem animes.)
The princess, who is objectively a good leader, attractive, and has excellent social intelligence... Ultimately fails at morals. The main key of a Polyamorous relationship is Consent. None of them gave full consent.
The first character, a demi-human, wants a monogamous relationship; but TOLERATES her other partners because she is princess / she wants it. He has expressed multiple times that he doesn't like her relationship with other men and she brushes it off, for example.
The character Burburrei mentioned was also coercion. She blackmailed him to spend time with her; although not in a relationship officially, she makes it seem like she can "win him over." Like him saying no doesn't matter and he's literally a prize to be won, going as far as calling him jewelry she can take.
Then, when he gets kidnapped, assaulted and she rescues him, she "let's him go" and it makes it seem like she's some holy saint for doing the bare minimum and letting him go back home to his family, where he wanted to go. As if it's some privilege she the o so great one is granting out of the kindness of her heart.
And, she is also cheating. While in an arranged marriage, (granted, those suck and she had every right to live her own life) instead of confronting her fiance about it she listens to rumors of high society; labelling him as a fat, greedy, arrogant, abusive POS who was away on vacation. In truth, he was working out to "correct" his weight for her, and is willing to change his personality, attire and monetary possessions just for her to feel comfortable. Unlike her, he doesn't view the princess as a prize; because he was willing to sacrifice his needs and his self for her with no promise of repayment.
While its 100% not a problem to not want anyone and you literally don't need any reason to, embarrassing this already insecure guy to literally everyone in the kingdom is too far. She has little to absolutely no consideration for him and his feelings, and ultimately just puts him down to lift her up.
webtoon is just becoming the comic version of wattpad
The Boxer is one of those webtoons that breaks the trope of seemingly weak become op mc, the art is clean and the story is cleaner. You're given a clear narrative on each character's ideals, plus how they struggle and react to an immovable object in front of them (that being yu). Fantastic storytelling and I would definitely wipe my mind clean just to read it again.
Same here. I cried at the ending of Yu's story.

I actually read “A Good Day to Be a Dog” and its really cute and quite good. The “I Love Yoo” took a nose dive after a hiatus, which I don’t know much about. It was pretty good from what I remember but eh. Oh, and Lore Olympus was alright until… I got fed up with the plot. Tbh i dont know where im going with this. Lackadaisy is such a great webcomic with fantastic art and well developed characters! It even has an animated pilot that is gorgeous to look at!
My mains are Castle Swimmer and Hooves of Death. Castle swimmer holds really well and is sweet and diverse, it's about merfolk and the main protagonists are "The Beacon" (who completes prophecies) and a shark prince. Hooves of Death is set in the apocalypse. The main characters are a few unicorns, a young human girl, and some of the horsemen. It drops a bit when it gets to the romance part, which is very far into the comic, but it makes sense as the author's health started dropping around that point (and also I hate the romance arc)
I'm a webtoon artist in the platform, and I will say that I'll happily stay on Canvas if they ever offer me a contract with Webtoons, like no thanks i want my own freedom with my content instead ✨✨

Its so fuckin good :D
They were the only trailers that were actually good. I just watched the animated clips for the comic on youtube and immediately went to go check it out. One of the best I’ve read.
UnOrdinary actually caught me with one of its trailers, and I honestly thought it was pretty good. It showed off the main theme of the first season pretty well and how the stories society treats those who are weaker
I remember feeling like i was reading my hero but dude has a quirk he just pretends he doesnt
I’ve seen a couple people say The Boxer already, but i need to drive home why that one is such an actual work of art. The art style is sparing but gorgeous, the writing and story are both excellent, as well as the characters and how they interact, but this story spoke to me in a way i can’t fully put into words. It somehow makes the least relatable and outlandish characters sickeningly relatable, because of how they represent some of the worst parts of ourselves. These characters feel so real and you somehow care for all of them, despite them fighting each other and you wanna see all of them succeed. But life isn’t so black and white just grey, and crimson red. I wouldn’t dare spoil this genuine masterpiece for those that wanna check it out but this comic is one of the most thrilling, heartwarming, and soul crushing pieces of art and will leave you changed. If you don’t wanna read the whole thing i get it, my favorites are Hero, Antihero, Breakthrough, and Proof, as well as Siblings and Christmas.
Thank you for always brightening my day funny green man

I recommend reading this webtoon called “tower of god” i’ve been obsessed with it for a hella long time and it’s so good 😩 the story and world building really just are pieces of art, and the actual art improves so much and looks very good where the story is at now. The premise of the story is that theres a tower (which is kinda more like it’s own universe?) and as you go up the tower your supposed to find whatever your looking for, whatever it is. It’s got great characters and character development too.
You just have to get thru the first season and then everything gets better 😌

Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell is one of those more popular and really funny webtoons. The pacing, deadpan facial expressions, and the shitshow that is Paul's attempts to go out with this cafe waiter are all just hilarious. It's really one of those distinct yet really fun webtoons in terms of presentation and demon-related plot.
ok so i read a few comments and it seems like it isn't that popular rn but i swear it was one of the things that greatly boosted webtoon's platform back then and it has highly positive feedback. Maybe it's because of all of the newer and more marketed stuff.

I've been in the webtoon community for long and took a yr of break. After getting back, one of my faves still include Lost in Translation. It's abt this idol group debuting and our mc being a scandalous figure to keep their group's popularity afloat. (he was forced by shit ceo). I'm not kidding when I say all the characters have issues, they do. I love how the author goes abt it, whether it be body dysmorphia, low-self esteem, or other things. It was refreshing seeing it happen with characs in the idol industry. Everyone has issues, but they're just a bit limited in going abt it becus of popularity. It felt so nice to me seeing their journey as characters and their chemistry with each other. They all exist for their own worlds, not just for the mc, but at the same time they're all in each others' worlds. Their lips were on FLEEK on the first season but it gets better lol.
Other recs: Cursed Princesses Club, Lumine, Not Even Bones, ALL work of Carnby Kim (Shotgun boy, Pigpen, Bastard), The Boxer
Unordinary goes pretty hard, the character development is phenomenal and the action is pretty damn great, couldn't rate it enough.

Funny the best Webtoon's are the ones that aren't mainstream or originals.
Not necessarily, the 2 biggest (tower of god and god of highschool) are probably the best on the platform.
Not exactly, but there's a lot of them that are good AND mainstream. My most favorites are from Instantmiso like Siren's Lament and Eternal Nocturnal.
I agree with Kwite in how the ads don't present accurately what the webtoons are presenting. Some of the most popular webtoons are my favorites. But there's also very underrated ones in the Canvas sections. My most favorite being Remote Angel which is SEVERELY underrated and I really recommend it.

Murrz remids me of my giant nerd boyfriend but cats insted of dogs and less death and depretion
One of my favorite comics on Webtoons that I had been following since it’s 60th episode that was done incredibly dirty by the higher ups was My Dictator Boyfriend. It ended recently with an incredibly rushed ending that left a lot of questions up in the air, made things confusing, and made an important character devolve from all of the character development they had went through. This was more than likely the result of corporate meddling which forced the authors to end things way earlier than they wanted to.
'Toaster Dude' short but oh so good, waited for every chapter, ended at a great place
As a repeat reader of Webtoons. My favorites are Hooky, Cursed Princess Club, Castle Swimmer, and gourmet Hound.
Hooky focuses of two sibling, both witches in training. The relationship dynamics, story building, and character development makes the read worth it.
Someone already mentioned Cursed Princess Club, but it deals with learning how to love yourself for your flaws and strong points, and learning about your insecurities. Every character has more to them the further you read.
I haven’t read castle swimmers in a hot moment, I’m letting a lot of chapters post so I can binge but it’s a good story. It’s a coming of age story kinda
And gourmet hound is about chasing after the last pieces of your life after losing someone. How adapting to the world without them makes it feel so different then before. The main character is a joy to read with her antics.
Yes! Hooky is my favorite webtoon! It's so good!
Season 2 of castle swimmer wrapped up like 5 months ago
It's coming back soon tho, like 25th of this month
so
uh
Oughta catch up soon
Webtoons are basically indie games, but they the creators were high as all hell when they make them
Some good webtoons I know and have enjoyed would be:
- Take Off (an interesting concept where the whole main plot takes place over one 16 hour plane ride)
- Mr. Beta (for those of you who are interested in ABO but what something a little different from the usual dynamic/plot lines)
- Love Tractor (this one is on Lehzin but it's just really cute and has s nice pairing of characters with good backstories)
- The Boxer (other people mentioned this one but I absolutely love it and had to bring it up again; this one shows three different characters as the focal point for three different stories that kinda fall into place tho, so it's not your usual single protagonist/mc)
- Ghost Eyes (this one might not be for the faint of heart in some places but it's one of the best things I've ever had the pleasure of consuming)
- Revelation of Eros (This. One.)
*its actually based on a true story of the creator and I think he said it was being used as a kind of assistance to therapy to cope with his past trauma, its so good, but it's also one that has some topics that might not be for the faint of heart, you should definitely give it a read if interested though
- 19 Days (this one's lowkey just bc it's my pfp but it's pretty funny and goes into a bit of a deeper story as it progresses)
Oh, Acception is a good one too, it's got some really fun characters going on and a really good story
Crushed is a comic on tapas that I would 1000000000000% recommend it actually gives a really good representation of Polly relationships and it’s REALLY good, the art style is literally stunning!
If there's one webtoon I can wholly recommend is Scoob and Shag. It is essentially an ascended shitpost taken to its most logical extreme.
sounds perfect
Glad to see someone mention that masterpiece.
@@notenoughmemes1847 You know it
thats god tier bro
What's that exactly
Heartstopper is technically a webtoon, and it's a masterpiece for sure, but I also recommend Idiots Don't Catch Colds, although it might not be as much of a video idea as it is just a good read. The down to earth webtoon actually is good, and I read it's weekly updates consistently, so comparing it with that ad might be a good video
Idiots Don't Catch Colds is such a good read, it's amazing. I find myself waiting weeks for the chapters to pile up so I can read them all in one go. Not to mention the chapters themselves are short and easy to read which goes very nicely with my short attention span lol.
Holy shit I remember reading a bit of Heartstopper but forgot the name
@@marianelimaleonardi6648 agreed lol
@@doozy5184 it's amazing, I recommend reading more
IDIOTS DONT CATCH COLDS IS SO UNDERRATED BUT ITS MY FAVORITE WEBTOON BY FAR ITS ACTUALLY SO GOOD

Hades got the goofy ahh walk
Me: *gets a webtoon’s add right as I click on it*
The add: YOU CANT JUDGE ME
Me: *judges harder*
I’ve seen a lot of ads for Lore Olympus and, to be completely honest, I didn’t entirely hate any of them.
On top of there being narration in this one and pretty good narration at that, the art style and overall gloomy atmosphere of the comic was something that I found really intriguing.
I wouldn’t mind if Kwite made a video going into and learning more about that series.
lore Olympus is one of those things where the story itself is really good but the fans are cringe and give it a bad name. Im a reader of it and it's really good and you can tell that the author knows their stuff about Greek Mythology, but every time I see any posts online by fans I literally want to die because they're literally just thirsting over characters.
it also handles heavy topics like rape and bad parent relationships.
I recommend The Remarried Empress.
It’s about an intelligent, graceful, wise, can handle basically anything Empress of the Eastern Empire named Navier. She is divorced by her toxic husband because of a mistress and has no choice other then accepting the divorce. While she accepts that divorce she asks permission to remarry into the Western Kingdom. The Webtoon shows how it all unfolds from the beginning to the remarriage and forward.
Yhea that author is currently making three separate comics. They all have basically the same plots. Hot girl manipulating a group of men to recover from something sad. All three are great.
IT'S SO GOOD
Personally I don't like it but I support that you do
Also "Your Throne," its been a while for me since I have read but both definitely have that type of drama filled plot
@just i c e just i c e: fr I have no parents
I'm sure you won't see this but two of my favorite webtoons that I absolutely adore are Castle Swimmer and Jackson's Diary (castle swimmer's 3rd season just started btw!) Idk what much to say but the stories are great and quite compelling, I haven't felt this much emotion for a cast of characters in a long time
Update!! I just discovered a new webtoon that I absolutely love, it's on canvas, called Cherry Crush, I love the art, the characters, the story it's all *chefs kiss*
At 1:22 I said "Come on Webtoons, hire people who know how to voice act, I know you have the money to."
and then I realized it was Kwite just reading it when he said question mark.
I'm sorry for insulting you but as someone who used to read that webtoon you got his voice so wrong.
Also I'm glad Webtoons choose to not have voice acting on their ads because the ones that do (that you showed) were terrible. Like it sounded like they dragged in the intern and was like "read these lines like you're [archetype]" and Carl did just that.
if you want a webtoon recommendation, i absolutely cannot recommend enough the webtoon space boy. It’s beautiful, the characters are dynamic and interesting, and I personally really love it’s portrayal of mental illlness.
@our hero your not our hero
YES. it’s so so good
YES
I love space boy!!
Space boy is easily the best and most consistent long-running webtoon on the platform in my opinion. It's a shame that its not as widely loved as others
I would really recommend muted! It's got an actually good poly relationship and it also talks a lot about trauma and how people deal with it! Also, for a good trailer, look up the one done by the creator, Miranda, the webtoon official trailer sucks ass
I second this!
yes!! muted is such a good story
Yeah I was gonna recommend this one. It’s good representation, and I actually went through a sort of similar experience with my brother’s dad so it hit hard man. Love the art style so much
yeah muted is good
You beat me to it! Every frame of this webtoon is so beautiful and the way mental illness was portrayed was nuanced and helpful. Plus Muted is finished so you can neatly read the whole story at once.
You should definitely read "Uriah" (tw it's pretty disturbing), "Space boy", "Blades of Furry" (yes, FURRY) and "Castle Swimmer", these are the one that pretty much kept me from deleting the app, they are so entertaining and have a really good story over all (in my opinion atleast). Oh and "Lumine" is really good too (this wax the one that made download the app in the first place).
ALSO IFORGOT ABOUT "Heir's Game" ITS SO GOOD
Blades of Furry is amazing. Which is annoying cuz they put it on hiatus with the next episodes releasing in 142+ days and my impatient ass wants to read more.
The one where the girl turns into a dog:
I READ ALL OF IT AND HOLY SHIT ITS SO FUCKING GOOD
ive read all these webtoons before seeing the ads for them in this video, and damn omg im dissappointed in the marketing. these are (mostly) amazing stories by amazing artists and they dare to do em like THIS? smhmh
The webtoon “Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell” is by far one of my favorites. The art style is simple yet effective and the humor is hilariously dry. Definitely recommend
YES! It's the only Webtoon that made me laugh out loud! Not those try-hard, corny, or cringe ones, but that genuine hilarious one. The script, along with the illustrations, storytelling, pace, and comedic timing was phenomenal. For it to have a solid plot and distinct visuals in a comedy genre is a masterpiece. Author really knows what they're putting, not just throwing things to make it funny. The ending is also an absolute perfection.
so sad it ended
It is genuinely amazing!
One webtoon that is insanely amazing its "School bus Graveyard" god it had me full of anxiety
I actually read Down to Earth
It has the right amount of depression and fluff
Edit:
You should definitely read "Everything is fine", "I'm the grim reaper" and definitely "Jackson's Diary"
Those are a couple of my favourite Webtoons so you should definitely check it out!
Jackson’s diary yesss
Down to Earth is pretty okay, but the fandom is super toxic. Jackson's Diary is one of my favorites too, mostly after the end of season 1
@Classic Tate Are you a bot
“Everything is fine” I’m the grim reaper” i see you are a man of culture as well
I read the grim reaper and down to earth, as well as lets play, honestly i liked em but all of them do have thier own pits sometimes, overall good tho
I would love to recommend a Webtoon called City of Blank to you. it’s a genuine masterpiece and deserves so much more attention than it’s given
Oi (had to) it's nice to see City of Blank getting well deserved mentions
@@jayguthrie262 always love to see another fan out in the wild! 💕
City of Blank is so good! One of the Webtoons I'm looking forward to the most every week
The best webtoon I've ever had the opportunity to read is 'After School Lessons For Unripe Apples'
the storyline is fantastic, the characters have depth and well developed personalities. The characters end up disliking each other at first, and over the course of the first season become friends and start to care about each other. Its funny, the characters are relatable, the storyline isn't rushed- and season 2 just came out within the last few months. I like a lot of the silly webtoons, many of the isekais and ones typically involving some degree of violence (such as weak hero and the return of the blossoming blade (which if your into martial arts and reincarnation, is also really good)) but I have to say Unripe Apples is probably my favourite.
For some, the slow build up to the two main characters becoming friends may not appeal to everyone, but if you give it a chance I promise you won't be disappointed :)
(Oh! and another good one is Taekwondo Kid! It's just finished so you'll have to wait for daily passes to read after a certain point, but its also pretty well written. The main character doesn't win all the time, which I think makes the story much more realistic and less predictable.)
ok like but the webtoon unordinary was my actual childhood
i binged that shit like crazy
For “actual works of art” The Boxer is probably the best bet on webtoons
Agreed The Boxer is one of the best things I've ever read period
Agreed, but I doubt the action webtoons really fit the vibe of Kwite
The boxer is a work of art, hidden away from the majority of people. Seriously to anyone who hasn't, atleast give it a chance.
My absolute favourite!!
The boxer is impossibly wonderful
I'd recommend "Purple Hyacinth". it's pretty good, though its a mystery webtoon so beware of sensitive imagery
the character development and overall plotline is beautiful
Vouch
I WAS GOING TOCOMMENT THIS WEBTOON 🥰💕
AH YES PH IS IDK I JUST LOVE IT
The slow burn of the relationship between the mc's... **chef's kiss**
Duuude assassin roommate was one of the FIRST webtoons I ever read. These ads giving me some nostalgia
in terms of good webtoons I totally recommend "death: rescheduled", it has such a good story and is made by the same person who did "freaking romance".
I barely read Webtoon so I'm probably missing out on some good comics but one that I actively waited for would be Castle Swimmer. It's got angst, fluff, an interesting storyline imo, and it's gay. I genuinely like it and you might too! It's currently on Hiatus but I do believe it'll be back up some time next year? Not sure tho
The author announced that Castle Swimmer will be back on September 25th! (Also I’m super happy I found someone in the comments recommend Castle Swimmer, it’s an amazing webtoon)
i also read castle swimmer! i love it and it’s like the first webtoon i ever read
it one of my all time favorites!
@@dahedgehog6768 It's great! I'm glad I know when it'll be back now
I'm a big webtoons fan and check it about every day. I think the best webtoons originals in my opinion are "Omniscient Reader" and "Eleceed". I good one to make fun of would probably be "the gamer" but its on its 5th season so it would be a bit of a time commitment to review. There are also some hidden gems on the webtoons canvas my favorite being "Hue are you" and for a laugh you could review every among us comic.
Yes I absolutely love Omniscient Reader and Eleceed! As well as UnOrdinary
@@AwesomeOstree Oh my god other Omniscient Reader fans??? My day is made!
Have you guys read the novel yet?
Omniscient reader is goated
OMNISCIENT READER YES
ELECEED YES
both very swag but I don’t hear enough praise for eleceed honestly :O
Honestly most people might say it's cringy but good lord I'm in love with Castle Swimmer
Here's some Webtoons I'd genuinely reccomend because their marketing team is useless
- Crow Time (Cute comedy about crow shenanigans)
- Deathsitter (Cool art style, interesting characters, good character design especially)
- Art Of Silence (Simple but interesting premise with some sick ass backgrounds and creature designs)
- Everything Is Fine (More spooky mystery plot with good atmosphere)
- Bloodbath Bakery (It's only recently started but it has pretty good art and it's made by a really sick animation youtuber)
Updates probably when I remember
looks like we have simillar taste
you should read triptrack its one of my faves
finally a Deathsitter fan.
You should totally read "Carl", no one ever talks about it, but its honestly a work of art. It's about a robot therapist who gains sentience, but there's been a lot of story since then. I recommend that anyone who sees this comment to read it.
I used to keep up with Carl,, but I fell out of it a unknown amount of time ago (Covid fucked with my sense of time so idk)
Carl is so good!!
This makes me so sad because there are so many amazing webtoons that don't get enough attention while the only thing that seems to appear in the marketing for webtoons are pretty basic romance stories, witch don't get me wrong i like and love a lot of them, but I don't think it's representative of all the best shit in webtoons, so I'm just gonna write down a bunch of webtoons you should read
Bastard
Sweet home
Shotgun boy
Flawed almighty
Of swamp and sea
Scooby and shag
Royale
City of blank
SHE MAKES HUNGRY
Unlucky is as lucky does
After dark
Homesick
Uriah

DeathSitter

I read bastard a couple of years ago, it was soooo good I definitely recommend it if u like horror/serial killers stuff :)
Yea a fraction of ur recommendation is by Carnby Kim, so you should read another of his work, “PigPen”
@@ChiDestiny i know it's just that he makes the best shit
I genuinely love the “down to earth” comic but whoever made the movements for the webtoon ads needs to be locked up
i also love it, and some of the newer ads have voice acting, which is definitely interesting
@@idkoctavia i got yt premium so i don’t even watch the ads no more 😪
One webtoon I suggest checking out is Room of Swords, by Toonimated (which I think is made up of different writers and artists). The art style does change over time and in the story, there are different callbacks to previous episodes and moments, and the artstyle even reverts back to the early artstyle at one point before returning to its current one, and it actually makes freaking sense why. Also, Toonimated has done some animated panels in some episodes of Room of Swords, and honestly I want to see them make a full on animated trailer for the webtoon, as it seems they have just the right grasp and understanding of animation in its entirety to do so.
The actual writing is perfect, and the twists and turns in the plot never feel overdone or contrived. It just...feels like a well thought out, well-written and spectacularly designed Webtoon Original.
There's this old Webtoon called "Always Human" that really takes advantage of the music element of the platform and from what I remember, one of the first big ones to use it in a meaningful way.
omg another always human fan!! ive reread it at least 6 times by now, the art style is just amazing and i love how healthy the relationship is as well
I really liked that one. Also, even though I stopped reading completely for while now, I kind of want to check and see if any new series have come out from her.
@@alexfrank223 they have put out a new webtoon!! its called aerial magic. it was abt a witch apprentice and the ppl around her. not romance, i think, but very character-driven, dreamy, and calm. but its also on an indefinite hiatus. they did 2 seasons but it wasnt working out, so like. yeah.
you can still read the first two seasons tho, they're really good! im usually the kind of person who only consumes finished media bc i cant stand incomplete stuff (and bc i like to binge it), but i read this knowing abt the hiatus and i have no regrets
Heck yea, always like to go back and give it a read when I can
“Did you know there’s a pubg webtoon?”
There’s actually 3
Of course there is...
@Queen Elizabeth 🅥 You're deceased.
I recently started listening to audio books on UA-cam (A Child Called It, To Build A Fire, and Our Lady of the Sauropods most recently) and I WISH I was getting Webtoon ads. Instead I am constantly being slapped across the face with ABO "romance" ads that are anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes long.
A lot of them start with MC catching her mate cheating on her then he beats her (some don't even have that going on and it's just straight up DA for no reason) and then she meets a dude who she decides will be the one who fixes her.
I have two recommendations that are pretty good which are “remarried empress” and “your throne” they are pretty okay but I don’t think that they are cringe or a master piece maybe something to read on the side.
In my opinion, Lavender Jack and Gourmet Hound are two of the best pieces of media I've ever experienced, bonus points for representation. Even if he doesn't read them, I would really like Kwite to become a Webtoons UA-camr for the funzies.
GOURMET HOUND>>>>>>>>
I've actually read the Girl turning into dog webtoon and it's actually kinda funny. I, at the very least, can say I enjoyed it.
That was one of the first webtoons I read and it's good
I loved that one so much. it sucks that they made it a daily pass
A Good Day to be a Dog?
omggg assassin roommate was like my fave webtoon i've ever read, but the author had to cancel the series after a major cliffhanger because it had been having a slight decline in readers and webtoon was big mad about it. that author was done INSANELY dirty, the story was so engaging and the art style was so distinct and interesting. rip assassin roomate my beloved
2:16 HOLY SHIT ITS THE LAW
Lmao
Petition for Kwite to read Omniscient Readers Viewpoint because it's really good.
yes yes yes!!! It's one of the best webtoons (and THE best webnovel) out there imo
The entire webnovel, but MTL
It isn't bad but I'm just getting so sick of all the Solo Leveling type stories they've been releasing
@@catpoke9557 IMO ORV is pretty much nothing like Solo leveling. They both operate around popular webnovel tropes, but once you get past the basic set-up they're nothing alike. Solo Leveling is a lot more focused on cool action, and ORV on character relationships and comedy. Ofc, I totally get the burn-out -- there's way too many knock-offs of SL out there.
My favorite Webtoon by FAR is Cursed Princess Club. It feels like the Webtoon equivalent to Fruits Basket. While the premise starts out as girl likes guy and guy thinks girl is ugly if you reeeeaaaalllly squint, it is more about the main character's (and every character) learning to deal with their problems and how to love themselves more than anything else. Plus it is super funny too.
Dang as someone who adores both CPC and Fruits Basket I never thought of comparing them before- but I can definitely see and imagine anyone who loves one of them already would totally enjoy the other!
Down To Earth, Lore Olympus, I'm the Grim Reaper, SubZero, Stalker x Stalker, Shotgun Boy, Sweet Home, and unOrdinary are all goated Webtoons.
I really liked Cheese in the Trap a couple years back. It was definitely a slow burn Webtoon but I enjoyed it
Literally I used to get those ads all the time when my bf and I watch a video from my phone. I would turn it down soo fast because it was always the one that started with “Prep” moaning and once I clicked on a video and my stupid AirPods gave out for a sec and the moan was loud as hell and It scared the shit outta me lmao
Kwite: We cater specifically to bitter and lonely people here.
Gee thanks Kwite, never has anything been more true but I still try to deny it
1:30 Unown type font
I'd definitely recommend you read Moon You, though its is under weboon's annoying daily pass system that it has for completed series, which restricts you to only being able to read one of its episodes a day, though it helps get you more immersed in the protagonist's shenanigans on the moon and the day to day struggle living there alone, its primarily a comedy but it's got a lot of super impactful moments sprinkled throughout it.
Otherwise there's also Space Boy, a really cool sci-fi adventure story that takes a lot of inspiration from things like 2001: A Space Odyssey and E.T, its pretty wholesome and has cute art and characters, but also has a great mystery and a lot of serious to downright creepy moments.
I would so recommend Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (It's a korean light novel as well!!) And Shelter!
You asked for recommendations and recommendations you shall receive.
"Suitor Armor" is an amazing one! My first read around I thought it was going to be a weird beauty and the beast retelling but it turned out incredibly unique and has so outstanding world building and some great messages!
"Realta" is a new one with a fairly unique plot, and has a gorgous art style and some incredible characters. It's only 12 episodes so far but it looks very good!
"Edith" is one of my favorites, it's a finished one about romance and the Heroines confidence. It's art style is incredibly charming and does a wonderful job with colours to match the tone of the page!
"The Weekly Roll" is rather nice, it isn't really as strong compelling story as the others on the list, but more like comic strips in the newspaper but about a homicidal dnd party!
SUITOR ARMOR LIKER LETS GO LETS GO 🤝🤝🤝🤝
