Biting down on that slider with a towel in your mouth while outside your house in an alleyway, while your girlfriend handles all the PA stuff, and then your mic goes out is what filmmaking is all about!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Josh Thomas Media haha I do anything for the shot. Plus when you don’t have the money for a robotic arm pants slider tm* is the next best thing!
@@AustenPaul Gotta patent that baby! Pant slider Mk II
@@brucewilliamsstudio4932 Correct!
I was like "How the heck did he get that last shot?"
Even more elegant than I imagined.
Dookey Lukey do whatever it takes for the shot haha
I didn't even know prob lenses were a thing
i love how the partners of youtubers always seem like reluctant participants. Great tutorial
Tekky Thai haha she wasn’t super stoked!!
@@AustenPaul LOL she did great though... you both did, this was amazing to watch. I don't even know why I'm watching
I can describe how much I'm thankful to Daniel Schiffer. This is pure gold. Subscribed )
Dito!
@@brucewilliamsstudio4932 why Schiffer?
@@nameohnezahlen Check out his channel.... ;-)
I really like Schiffer because he shoots handheld and doesn't use a lot of expensive equipment outside of lighting and it feels more realistic for me as a beginner but I do appreciate guys this this guy who can show you when you get to that point what can be done.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share and put this together, you obviously put a lot of work into the actual production and then all the extra to give us this tutorial, so much appreciated
Not even a cinematographer myself and I'm still enjoy watching this! Great stuff.
Stanza1113 heck yeah thanks man much appreciated!!
1:27 the candor. It's why i come back to these. 'We're all just learning.' Good stuff.
In your kitchen. That's a lot doper than in a fancy studio. 100%
You deserve a million subscribers. Your content is amazing. Thank you for the video!
very very grateful for all of these videos!! Thank you for sharing! And you keep it light and fun which is awesome.
That was a great production shoot. Man, impressive. Thanks to Kendall for her assistance!
I freaking loved this style of tutorial! It's raw and adapts to the scene as needed. it's not perfect but thats what makes it BETTER! We need more real life tutorials like this one!
So glad you made this guy. Your work always impresses me
thank Daniel i found you man. you just pure inspiration. gonna keep watching.
So glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you for the effort to show us all the insights. Super generous of you to share. Keep them coming
Raul Avendano thank you and will do!

Edward Yang of course thanks for watching!!
Awesome Work man! I really have been loving these videos you have been putting out!
Kudos for being down to earth and showing humility in the disclaimer.
that last shot was epic!!
Your channel and your tutorials are unbelievable. Thank you so much for what you're doing.
So happy to hear glad you like them!
I've learned again today. Thanks. Keep making this kind of tutorial.
Pure example of you tubers, putting big production industry to shame and out of work.
I’m subscribing
Great instruction. I've been a commercial still shooter for many years, but never done any video and want to learn. This is super helpful. Thank you!!
that last shot with the probe lens --- a million dollars..... thats the money shot .....
Thank you!
You and Daniel schiffer are the only UA-camrs that I’ve found so far compared to peter McKinnon and all that actually shares the secret and not repeating same info again and again and pretending to actually gave the viewer something valuable. The things you guys shared are more than valuable and amazing, it literally made to start my very own business do do commercial video shoots just by learning from you guys. Thank you and I hope you get much more back in life and to greater heights.
Hi Hung, I am so happy to hear that. Congrats on establishing you business!
Austin Paul is a savage.
I’m currently taking your course, it’s worth more than a college degree! Thank you
how this chanel has not millions of subscribers?the content is insane
This was awesome! thank you for making this and sharing the knowledge. Very cool!
The cut plastic bottle with probe lens setup here is a rad idea. Nice work man, solid little promo
The probe lens shot was epic!!!
Wow really creative with the last shot love it !
Finally a video that explains the probe lens shot. Nice!!!!
Dude thats a great creative work. Loved it
The footage looks fantastic! Thanks for the tutorial.
Omg you’re so awesome I love it 😍. The creativity is 👌🏾👏🏾
i love that trick with plastic bottle! Amazing video. Thanks for the tutorial!
I'm in the fulltime filmmaker group with you. We spoke Skittle and you sent me this video. Thanks bro I really like this
Thumbs up. Subscribed. Earned!
I've been producing how-to videos for 30 years and have developed an interest in product photography. In researching, this video is the best I've seen. Period (and there are a 'lot' of these out there). I especially like how it wasn't slick and polished, which I know you could have done. Instead it was short, to the point, pure no-bullshit, how to and why. Did well (talent, too).
You make an awsome job! This is one off the vids what i am looking for.
I have been looking at tutorials for how to light someone for an interview and I wish they would have done what you did here- you zoom out to show where all the lights are and how they are affecting the subject. This is awesome!
RachelSmithVideography I can work on one of those for you!
he crushes it. Rachel i would also check out Parker Walbeck's "cinematic lighting techniques" and interview tuts
Excellent. I love it when people show stuff like this. Thanks.
John Stockton no problem happy to help teach what I’ve learned!
@@AustenPaul Could you show how you light a wide shot. But could you include detail like the size of the room and also the space you have to operate in. What distance the camera is from the subject. These are all detail everyone always leave out. Many people who try and replicate these tutorials are not working in big open plan apartments. Are there tricks and tips for working in smaller spaces?
This is so awesome!! I feel so inspired! Thank you!!
Wow. Thank you for the great tutorial on how you made the video. Really appreciate your content.
Finally some real product video tutorials!!!
So glad you enjoyed it!
It is amazing, dedications and creative all the good stuff, love it!
Huan Tran thank you so much glad you enjoyed it!
that was amazing 👌specially the last part🤯
Austen, you make it look so easy! Your shots are so crisp and clean. I'm struggling with many of my shots. I shoot for hours only to return to my editing desk to learn that half of my shots are out of focus, or I notice something in post that I didn't see during the shoot. Great work and thank you for all the great videos.
It takes a lot of time patience and practice. I mess up all the time and this is just a highlight reel. Just remeber to stick at it and learn from your mistakes!
WOW WOW WOW... what did I just see. Nice one mate. I will try this
no need disclaimer, this is much better than indy mogul product shot tutorial.
11:07 jeez this dude is way too creative! using his **** as a support and the towel to bite the other end 🙌🏻
subscribed!!
Don’t understand what the towel is doing.
I like "disclaimer Austin" the best.

"DISCLAIMER IM NOT SAYING I KNOW EVERYTHING"

You are awesome! I loved your video because it felt so real. I really appreciate the attention to detail and I will most definitely be checking out your videos from here on.
