I’ve watched through your channel since I found out I was pregnant (I’m 39 weeks) and it’s funny because I’ve noticed my baby moves around when I play your videos 😂 guess baby recognizes your voice
Nessa M lol that’s hilarious! I’m due soon (35 weeks) and my fiancé said our babies gonna recognize her voice too 😂😂 I always watch them with my phone near my belly he’s probably so used to hearing her by now lol.
My baby would bite down on me so hard I would shake in pain. I ended up with swollen and cracked nipples. This continued into the first few days at home BUT that behaviour quickly disappeared. It can be hard to find courage through the pain and discouragement when initial breastfeeding doesn't go well, but don't give up too soon. It will get better. Sometimes a hungry baby will be too vigorous at the breast, causing pain, but as your milk comes in and they become more assured, this should fade away. Also I ended up pumping for the first 3 weeks of life. Inadvisable, but I wanted to avoid formula and breastfeeding was not working at the time, so that's the choice I made. It was a lot of work, but she got all that antibody & nutrient-rich colostrum. That was rewarding to see in the fridge- liquid gold as they say :). Now we're finally getting away from all the bottles, breastfeeding often, and we are much happier. Not spitting up, no bottles to clean, etc. I see now why they recommend doing this in reverse lol breastfeeding x3 weeks, THEN pumping. In the end, I'm just so glad I didn't give up on breastmilk or breastfeeding. The hard work paid off. So... hang in there, Mommas! It is indeed a beautiful and rewarding experience.
I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I have always wanted to nurse my older kids but I couldn't get them to latch and I think I just siked my self out of it so this is really helpful.
Bridget you have been such an inspiration to me. My baby was born 5 weeks early and he did not latch at all and I was having a hard time with breastfeeding but your videos helped me stay positive and you are such a joy to watch. THANK YOU sooo much for your helpful videos! ❤😊😊 Love Anna.
I went into the hospital on December 22nd at midnight and I was already 7cm dilated. I got to 9cm and my body just stalled and went into shock. Baby’s water would not break and he would not drop at all. After every contraction I would almost pass out so my husband had me take the epidural at 9cm. After taking the epidural , it took another 12-14 hours for me to be able to start pushing. My son was born on December 22nd, at 2:15pm, weighing 7lbs and 9oz. The worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life getting from 1-9cm. First time mom and it’s very VERY scary, but I have my husbands full support.
I had low milk supply, but I was able to breastfeed my son for 1.5 years. I am pregnant with my second child. I hope I can do better, my first two weeks I was struggling a lot.
Im 28 weeks with baby #4 and STILL haven’t gotten breastfeeding down, but I’m really determined to finish the whole year this time! I always find it so hard to get past the 2-3 month mark with the sore nipples and always feeling like I’m not making enough milk and give in to formula.
I’m 35 weeks with my second, but first time breastfeeding. I bought a nipple shield from 9 Months Sober. I heard it’s supposed to help with the soreness
I started pumping out of curiosity a week postpartum and since then it’s been giving me problems with overproduction of milk. 🥺 I experience engorgement very often now. And it’s painful 😭 I should’ve listened to my midwife when she said no pumping yet huhu
If you plan on pumping and breastfeeding, how do you schedule both? I won't be working but my husband will want to be able to feed baby once shes a month old. I breastfed my first baby exclusively and she fed every 3 hours so it was easy but do I pump one hour and feed the next or what? Hopefully, I made sense of this question lol.
Spiritually Guided Shadow I’m having my first baby in September so I’m not really qualified but I heard a lot about pumping one breast while feeding the baby from the other. Apparently it’s easier to get the milk out when baby is already drinking from one.

I just came across your channel... I m 32 weeks pregnant and a first time mom. All the videos you make are really really helping me to know everything abt taking all good care of baby before she arrives. I have one question like, how long after baby's birth does milk flow will start?
Your body starts producing during pregnancy... I made a video on this recently ... mature milk starts flowing at around 2-5 days postpartum. I post breastfeeding specific tips on my channel. Congrats!
I’m 33 weeks due on March and I just started watching your videos about birth and motherhood. This is one of my favourites! You were able to cover all the questions in my head. I feel so relieved now. I really hope I could breastfeed my baby boy and will keep those pieces of advice in mind😊

I’m seriously loving your channel! I am about a month and a half away from my due date, and I will be returning back to work a little before 12 weeks. So this pumping information is so useful 😍
I have a question, I don’t know why I can’t send a personal message to you but I was wondering why my baby seems to need to eat so much if I rely just on breastmilk. For example I usually nurse for about five minutes and then give him a bottle, then I decided I would try just now to nurse his entire feeding and what I noticed is that my baby nurse from the left side at 10:40 PM, where he would nurse and then lose the nipple several times or many times during the feeding and then I would switch sides after 15 minutes to the right side and he would still lose the nipple and find it again and nurse. But with this example he seems to have still been hungry and in nursing from 10:40 PM to 12:20 PM. Why is that? Does this mean that he’s not getting the fatty kind and that’s why he’s constantly hungry?
I love you! You helped me through natural labor and now with all my breastfeeding doubts. You have made me feel confident! The timing topic always makes me feel uncomfortable because my baby usually looks like he wants to continue on the same boob but pediatrician was having me feed only 15 mins on each. First time mom probs!
Just found your channel and I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and wanting to breastfeed with this baby. My question is how do you know which pumped milk to give first, and how should I prepare it. I'm going to be pumping in between feedings for when I go back to work
You can label the bag with a sharpie the date of pumping. Usually if you keep it in the freezer you can pull it out of the freezer and warm up a cup of water (warm not boiling) then place the frozen bag in the water to defrost it. Kellymom is a great resource for breasfeeding!
I just love your videos! Me and my fiancé have been watching all of your videos and it makes me feel so prepared for labor and delivery! I’m so excited for the breastfeeding videos to follow!! I’m 39 weeks pregnant and it sounds like your gonna be releasing even more great breastfeeding videos while I’m getting the hang of it ❤️ my fiancé even said let’s hire her as a doula but we’re in Colorado 😝❤️
Awe Yay!! Wish I could be there for your birth, but you're going to have a beautiful experience, mama! And yes! More breastfeeding videos coming your way!! Let me know if you have any questions I can help answer.
I absolutely will!!! Where else can I follow you?! I’m having contractions now, probably going to the hospital soon and rewatching your videos on the stages of labor now ❤️
Hey so I am still breastfeeding at 18 months. I am still having night sweats and hot flashes all the time. Could you make a video about hormones a year out or something related?
Do you have any suggestions regarding which pump to get for breast feeding? I’m currently trying to find a good one for my fiancé without breaking the bank! Thanks in advance.
This is the Spectra amzn.to/2Nd8sxU it's rechargeable and is great if your fiancé is returning to work and doesn't want to be tied down by an outlet. A little more pricey though. And this is the Medela Pump in Style Advanced amzn.to/2X6GdFI This one is cheaper and works great (it's the one I personally use) and you get bottles and milk storage that comes along with it. But I would definitely check in with your care provider if your fiancé is planning on delivering a hospital! They often will provide a hospital grade pump at no charge to you. Keep in mind, the hospital grade ones are usually a bit bigger than the personal pumps! Hope this helps!
How soon is it ok to use Lecitin? I'm only 33 weeks pregnant now but my sister had trouble nursing initially. So I wonder if taking Lecitin prior or during labor may help.
Any other first time moms feel grossed out by the entire process? I’m due to give birth soon and still feel uncomfortable with the idea and commitment of nursing. I feel like I should try it but am also so turned off with the pressure to do so. I’m educated and understand the benefits but can’t shake these feelings I’ve been having. Anyone else experience this and how did you handle it?
The reality of our bodies is that they are leaky, messy and weird. We are so programmed that this is wrong or unattractive when in fact it is just how it is. Maybe just trying to feel neutral about it in the very least. When it really comes down to it you don't owe anyone anything. If you try body feeding and stop or don't want to it's totally fine. The best thing is for the baby to be fed in whichever way is best for you. If mama is stressed and burnt out that's not good for baby. Anyone who tries to give you crap about your choices needs to be told they are not helpful and to stop. Whatever you choose will be great! You got this!
I understand that feeling! I'm really gonna try this time but I think I'll end up exclusively pumping after the hospital because I'm so scared of the pressure to feed from the breast. So concerned we'll have issues with lip ties and etc.
I'm having trouble latching my baby due to his frustration levels. He screams and cries when trying to latch him on. Any tips or advice to overcome my baby's frustration?
Our 6-weeks old cries for more food after breastfeeding 98 times of 100, she was delivered by c-section and it took a couple of days with formula until she started to breastfeed., and she eats until well empty, if she is removed from the breast before she cries, she is steady on +2 standard deviations for weight and length .
Listening to lactation consultants almost killed my baby. If they give you the same trite bs, but you don't think something is right. Take baby to er (since ped can't usually see you without a several week wait). If baby isn't wetting enough, take baby to er Do not let those abusive lactivists tell you that baby is fine if they aren't urinating. When they tell you that you're abusing your dehydrated baby by supplementing after their hospitalization, tell them exactly what to go do with themselves. Breastfeeding is wonderful, but don't let them convince you that it's better for your child to die than for them to receive formula
Do you have a video about formula feeding and incorporating that as a supplement? My baby eats so much that he empties me out and is still hungry.. often eating for well over an hour both sides, usually only taking a break to burp, diaper, or take the occasional nap. He's getting enough, but he is eating so often I'm raw.
Hannah Powell how old is he? It’s normal to cluster feed around growth spurts which can happen around 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 12 weeks and 6 months and maybe a few more times in between. Also he’ll be cluster feeding to help you get more supply. Supplementing with formula might hinder your supply. Don’t doubt your supply if his nappy output is good, he’s gaining weight and he’s generally content 😊 you got this!! Xx
Hi. Currently 30 weeks pregnant. So sorry if this sounds like an air headed question ... but baby will feed between both breast in one feeding? For example, I’d start baby on my left breast and will need to do the right side as well after or is one breast at a time enough? I purchased a hakaa for let down but will I need it if baby will be nursing on both breast in one feeding?
Lamanda Mabry A lot of women feed on both sides. Especially if they feel engorged. It just keeps it even. Not all women do. If you don’t you can put a clothes pin on your bra or bracelet on your wrist to know what side you fed on last. That helps when you are exhausted and not thinking at full capacity. I’m not in any way an expert. I’d use the Hakka on both breast when you change sides because of want to mix the hind milk in with the fore milk. The hind milk has more fat. The suction may not be good enough with the Hakka to do that if that is the case I’d pump the hind milk out to make sure you got it all. However, if you pump for a few minutes after feeding it tells your body to produce more milk so idk if you want that. I’m not near an expert! That is my barely educated two cents.

Trying to get it back 😭😓 had too much before and now I'm having to go back to some formula because I don't have enough for my baby 😭😓

Im worried I won't be able to breastfeed because I have a history of sexual trauma and even with my partner of years can't touch my nipples without it being a trigger for me. I am praying things will be different with my baby girl but this is something that is going to definitely be a challenge for me. It's the reason I never tried breastfeeding with my son but some time has passed now and I want to try.
my baby is 2 days old. she started feeding on both breasts but then gradually started favouring the left one. she doesn't even latch on the right one anymore. as if she's unable. what can I do to change this? my milk hasn't come yet, so it's just colostrum
I made a mistake by feeding mostly formulas for the first 6 weeks and pumping twice a day only. Is there anyway to fix it? My milk supply is wayy less than it was before. Any solution? I really regret giving formula

I've really been loving your videos! I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my first right now and they have been so informative and reassuring!
I'm so glad you've been enjoying the videos! Your birth is going to be so special!

I m 34 weeks pregnant...and have been watching all the videos...... really helpful💕💞.
I really appreciate this video!! I absolutely failed nursing my first because I had no idea that the pain at first would be so intense or that it wasn't normal. My daughter ended up having a cow's milk protein allergy and lip tie that I discovered after switching her to formula.
I'm due in 2 weeks with my 2nd and have been researching as much as I can to be better prepared this time! I am determined to nurse successfully!!
Corrina I had the same problem with my first as well. I am currently 37+5 and I have researched my entire pregnancy and watched just about every breastfeeding video here on UA-cam in hopes to have a better outcome this time around!
@@megannicole1892 you've got this!! I delivered my 2nd almost exactly one month ago and she has been exclusively breastfed 🙌🏻
Definitely take advantage of lactation consultants in the hospital after you deliver and don't be afraid to ask for help after you're discharged too. My daughter ended up having severe jaundice and a shallow latch that was corrected with LC help and she has been growing and gaining ever since and I have no pain. I'm also dairy and egg free! Good luck mama 🧡
Corrina hey congratulations I hope your second attempt at breastfeeding is going as you hoped!! I’ve just uploaded a video with other tips if you need more motivation to continue! Much love xx
@@NikkiLaska thank you so much! I'll definitely check it out😊✊ 4 months now and going strong!!
Corrina yay!!!! I’m so glad it’s going well! Our babies must be similar age!! Mine was born 7th. April! When did you have yours?
This video is THE reminder for me that i provide enough milk for my baby. Every time i over think and doubting myself, i go back here and watch you talk.. so comforting. Thank you bridgete! ❤️
It happened to me todaaaay . Baby first kick while I was watching the perfect latch video 😂
I’m almost 32 weeks with my first child, and I’ve just started watching your channel, really loving the videos! Thank you so much!
It is indeed a beautiful and rewarding experience.
that's amazing, props to you for continuing to pump!
I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I have always wanted to nurse my older kids but I couldn't get them to latch and I think I just siked my self out of it so this is really helpful.
Hearing this makes me feel soooooo excited to nurse my upcoming baby boy 👶, all of my questions in mind is being answered.
Thanks, very informative
I love your channel. I’m only 13 weeks, and trying to do all my research about everything! First time momma here
Bridget you have been such an inspiration to me.
I’m only halfway done watching this video and i already love it so much!!!! So much fantastic info!!!
That’s a good idea, I’ve heard of them but never used one, I think I’ll give it a try this time, thanks!
loved this!!! thank you for making these video...first time mom here, I'm due in a few months and this gave me so much peace of mind.
I started pumping out of curiosity a week postpartum and since then it’s been giving me problems with overproduction of milk. 🥺 I experience engorgement very often now. And it’s painful 😭 I should’ve listened to my midwife when she said no pumping yet huhu
I’m a first time mom I can’t wait to breast feed❤
If you plan on pumping and breastfeeding, how do you schedule both? I won't be working but my husband will want to be able to feed baby once shes a month old. I breastfed my first baby exclusively and she fed every 3 hours so it was easy but do I pump one hour and feed the next or what? Hopefully, I made sense of this question lol.
Spiritually Guided Shadow I’m having my first baby in September so I’m not really qualified but I heard a lot about pumping one breast while feeding the baby from the other. Apparently it’s easier to get the milk out when baby is already drinking from one.
Thanks so much for this. Eased so many nerves and made me feel super confident for my baby’s arrival this winter ♥️
I am having my 3rd and just wanted a reminder of everything! You made this so fun. Thank you!
Thank you for these videos on breastfeeding & pumping!! I’ve been trying to find the best videos to watch lately to get a really good understanding on this whole process before baby #1 comes & yours have by far been the most informative! Makes me feel like a pro already 😂❤️🙏🏼
Such an amazing and informative video! Thank you so much you answered literally all the questions I had about breastfeeding. I love how much you empower us to trust our body!
Thank you for all your videos an classes. They helped during my pregnancy, labour and natural unmedicated delivery. Working on postpartum n breastfeeding 🤞🏾
Hey hun! Really glad I found your channel. Can you do a video on prenatal exercises?
Yes! I will definitely add that to the list and do my best to get that video to you soon!
I love how happy you are while explaining everything. Its contagious, i really love your videos, thank you very much for sharing, this is precious ❤❤❤❤
Seriously love your channel so much!! I’m pregnant with my second. My first was born at 32 weeks so I really didn’t have long to learn stuff like what you talk about so I’m loving watching all your videos and fulling preparing for labor this time!!
Thank you for another great, educational video! You make me feel so prepared (or as prepared as one can hope to be, lol) to be a mama!
If I’m almost exclusively breastfeeding. How many times should I pump?
Ready to have my baby in a week😁
I'm almost 17 weeks. I'm unsure when I should take a breast feeding class or a birthing class

I’m having contractions now, probably going to the hospital soon and rewatching your videos on the stages of labor now ❤️
@@laurenroot6841 SO INCREDIBLE!!! Can't wait to hear about your story! Find me on Instagram @bridgetteyler ! Sending you love!
I love all of your videos that I have watched!!! Very educational.
Just discovered your channel and this is SO informative! Thank you!!
Just had a natural unmedicated water birth 3 days ago! So excited for breast feeding!
Thank you! Appreciate all your knowledge you share!
So i NEVER produced colostrum- it was straight milk with all three of my kids, why is that? I asked my doctor and she mever gave me an answer.
As an IBCLC I commend you for doing this video, the information provided is accurate. 🙏🏼 Thanks!
How soon is it ok to use Lecitin?
I'm only 33 weeks pregnant now but my sister had trouble nursing initially. So I wonder if taking Lecitin prior or during labor may help.
Excellent Experience Mam Thanks Take Care And Always Best Wishes
This is literally the reason our breasts were made. It's the most natural thing in the world first one being giving birth.
This video was so helpful to me! Thank you! ❤️
If baby isn't wetting enough, take baby to er
Do not let those abusive lactivists tell you that baby is fine if they aren't urinating. When they tell you that you're abusing your dehydrated baby by supplementing after their hospitalization, tell them exactly what to go do with themselves. Breastfeeding is wonderful, but don't let them convince you that it's better for your child to die than for them to receive formula
Hi Bridget, my baby is 12 weeks now and is it too late to produce more milk by pumping?
Xx
Thx for your great videos i have a question Should i breast feed from both breasts every time??
I faced this flat nipple issue during my first pregnancy I hope so now during my second one I should be able to overcome it
Great information! This eases my mind. 35 weeks along 😊
I just had my baby in April and the latch wasn’t great because I have flat nipples so I use nipple shields to help.
Nipple shield can safe your breastfeeding experience. Congrats. I post breastfeeding specific tips on my channel.
Me too
Thank you!
Lamanda Mabry
A lot of women feed on both sides.
That is my barely educated two cents.
my baby achieves a latch and then lets go multiple times but then searches for it again. so confusing. he falls asleep and sucks while he's asleep.
I haven't had a missed period yet, and I felt my milk let down and got engorged. I stopped breastfeeding 2 months ago
I don´t have any feelings in my breasts before or during breastfeeding...
Pumped before because my baby was underweight and losing weight so doctor had me supplement with formula. She is 8 weeks today and my supply dropped drastically two weeks ago. Trying to get it back 😭😓 had too much before and now I'm having to go back to some formula because I don't have enough for my baby 😭😓
What if I don’t want to switch breasts in the middle of a feed I just want to use 1 breast per feed????
How long does pumped breast milk last and how do we store it?
When baby is low birth weight baby and doesn't have energy to feed from the breasts, should we start pumping immediately after baby is born ?
You explained really well 😊
You’re a blessing to me 😅❤
Thank you for everything , your info helped me very much
Bridget I have a question does breast pumping to increase your milk supply only work until baby is 6 weeks? Or does it continue working for a while after?
Hi! Breast pumping to increase milk production works even after baby is 6 weeks. Don't give up. You got this!
What if baby falls asleep only after 5 minutes on the breast?
Susan Musta I have the same problem too! Try very hard to wake my baby up but she looks just like she is drunk. 😂😂😂
Same problem idk what to do
I keep on playing with my baby's nose to keep her sucking
You are so helpful!!!
hi Bridget, my baby is now 3 weeks old but Im afraid that he will not be able to continue to be breastfeed because he is getting used to the formula milk..does pumping thru the use of a haakaa helps to increase my milk supply even if my baby does not latch for a long time? I appreciate your response and help..thank you so much
Ahh, literally having the same issue. I hope she replies eventually.
Thank you so much 🥰🤍
I have a problem where my baby breastfeeds and then screams while breastfeading and continue to scream after feeding, i don't know what to do... she jas 2 weeks
Pros and cons of pumping like a week or two before birth?
my baby is 2 days old. she started feeding on both breasts but then gradually started favouring the left one. she doesn't even latch on the right one anymore. as if she's unable. what can I do to change this? my milk hasn't come yet, so it's just colostrum
How do I know when I’ve emptied out my milk from one breast? Before I need to switch (if I need to) ?
I made a mistake by feeding mostly formulas for the first 6 weeks and pumping twice a day only. Is there anyway to fix it? My milk supply is wayy less than it was before. Any solution? I really regret giving formula
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Love your videos.. I'm glad that I found your channel.
I want to do breastfeeding but I am honestly so turned off about it. It just seems so daunting and weird and uncomfortable.
It's the most natural thing in the world first being giving birth 😉 plus it's liquid gold that your baby won't be able to get anywhere else.
I just had my baby it’s a girl last year and how many times have to do a breast feeding
So happy I found this video. I failed breastfeeding with my first. I’m 30 weeks and nervous but determined and happy this video answered my questions.
Should I pump my breast while my baby is feeding or should I let my baby feed on both breasts & then pump
ana love heard great things about pumping one while feeding from the other
Oh yeh I have flat nipple thanks God I knew and I bought a nipple shield and thanks God I breastfeed my baby a whole year 💃
Amazing! Congrats!
Is there any science behind breastfeeding and calorie burn? Xx
