Thanks Peter, glad you like the build series. There is still an awful lot to do. The engines and wings are going to be almost totally scratch built - lots of fun. Great that you are coming along for the ride.
Thanks@@petermerz2704 there's lots of subjects I want to make but can't get decent kits of, hence scratchbuilding. I have a very long to build list... 🙂
Wow! Thanks for the amazing comment. There's lots more to come on this project. I've just 3D printed the guns, they look so 😎. Please, spread the word.
@@StaplesandVine I already look forward to the next Video! I'm currently binching the rest of your series, great work. All that metal casting brings back memories from university, although we didnt have fancy cad and had to wax up the crowns and bridged before molding and casting. Amazing how you are that capable in so many different techniques.
@@clumsydentist5576 it's always exciting discovering new ways of making stuff. CAD & 3D printing help a lot these days but old school skills never let you down. 🙂
Another awesome video! Great work on the rotating cockpit, looks super smooth. Thanks for the kind words. You did a great job painting both Boba's 👏 I think my next video will be me updating my Boba model to match his new armour paint job and costume from the book of Boba Fett show, thats coming out soon. I will pose him up so he will fit into your cockpit, so you can have old and new Boba! Cant wait to see this finished!
Thanks Bradley, that's very kind of you to offer. I'm really looking forward to 'The Book of Boba Fett'. New Boba would be great. Hopefully the rest of the build will be a bit more straightforward.
Really starting to look the part now Sara. Thats the joys of scratch building, finding solutions too the problems we create for ourselves. There's a lot to be said for the old fashioned techniques. Modern tech still can't solve all the issues. Thanks for doing the videos, they're always informative and I normally learn something useful to use in my own efforts. Mike
Thanks for the great comment Mike. I love the combination of new and old techniques for problem solving scratch built projects. It is so much quicker and cleaner to build up something in styrene than 3D printing in many cases. Lots of styrene work to come in the next episode. Sera
Thanks for the kind comment Ben, glad you like my progress so far. Are you making the Gambody Slave 1 too? I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to the hull now.
@@StaplesandVine yeah, I’m going to try and practice this type of stuff. On Cg trader I found an amazingly detailed and accurate model of jabbas palace with all the rooms and halls, so I’m going to try and make that
Amazing work! My build is getting hung up on failed prints, warping, and alignment issues. Your updates are great fun to watch!! Keep up the good work, sir!!
This might be too much of challenge-but adding all weapon systems including the seismic charge mine layer in the back would neat as well! No PRESSURE for you do this at all you've already done tremendous amount of work in this piece :)
I’ve started preliminary work on a slave one project of my own similar in finished exterior dimensions, but vastly different in terms of scale and detail… basically I’m building a twice scale version of the original Kenner toy to accommodate 6 inch black series figures. Technicallly I could build it at 1.6 times scale So it would be the same size in proportion to a 6 inch figure as the original Kenner toy was to a 3.75 inch figure… But I just went ahead and doubled it for ease of measurement and to get it that much closer to true scale.
wow, the working rotating cockpit are so sweet, do you plan to make it available or sell this file as an "upgrade" of the gambody one? congratulations again! also for the choice of using the Archive-X sets! GG
Hi, glad you like my cockpit solution. Yes I will be making the stl files available but be warned there is a lot of reworking to be done on the original parts.
Bonjour. Bravo très beau travail. Comment avez vous fabriqué la glace du cockpit car j'en construit un, et j'ai pas de solution pour le cockpit transparent.merci.
Hi Captain! You can get the .stls from Gambody here - www.gambody.com/3d-models/slave-one-starship . This is the base model I am re-working to make in more accurate. The cockpit is my design and will be released in due course. Subscribe for more update videos. 🙂
@@StaplesandVine perfect because I was only really talking about your cockpit and improvements. I really want to try to do an entire bisected cutaway model as well as the regular! I know, ambitious!
Good idea on how it could have looked, but it does seem that the cockpit itself is not meant to rotate at all. Only the passenger/cargo area rotates. Can see actual mechanism used for the Mandalorian in ua-cam.com/video/vyi3PV3M8zM/v-deo.html. Will just have to wait and see if there's any more interior shots in Book of Boba Fett. Maybe even see the back room behind the pilot seat.
I have issues with the movie design and decided to go my own route. It's just my take on Slave 1. Most seem to like my concept although it's not for everyone. Looking forward to 'The Book of Boba Fett' and 'Mando 3'.

I love this Work 🙏💯.
The Slave 1 has always been a confusing yet legendary ship in starwars, specifically the interior. You did a perfect Job.
Thanks for the great comment Aureum. Slave 1 certainly is enigmatic. I'm just finishing off the exterior detail so you can expect a new video soon.
@@StaplesandVine cool
May do Mando's new star buggy next. What do you reckon?
@@StaplesandVine Ah, you mean his new ship.
Yes that would be cool, luckily it’ll be far easier to do as it’s just a modified ship.
Great work, quite the project.
Perhaps a couple of magnets to locate the rotating section so it doesn't swivel while the canopy is on.
Thanks Brynn for the kind comment. Great idea about the magnets they would certainly help a lot. Next episode out on Wednesday.
Looks great! Just went back and watched the older episodes. Lots of work done to get where you are now! Thanks for sharing!
