Thanks Colin F. It's a lot of work but well worth it. The big stuff is out of the way now so it's now lots of juicy detailing. The wings might be tricky, and then there's the engines. Lots of fun ahead.
Seeing that Isopon plastered all over the model bought back memories of my first cars back in the late 70's and 80's which were held together with the stuff. This project is really coming together and will look awesome when finished. Thanks for sharing your journey. Mike
Great content mate, really enjoying this build!!! I especially like the re-imagined nose, looks much closer to the screen model!! keep up the great work and content coming!!
Thanks 'Zarnista Studios' for the great comment, it's really appreciated. There is still a lot to do on 'Slave 1' but with the main structure now complete it should cone alive as I add the detail. There's plenty more to come so make sure you subscribe.
Great build I'm working on the same model from gamebody hope I can duplicate your success with the canopy I've been dreading that part of the build Great work cant wait to see the rest of your build..
Hi Dax, glad you like my build. The canopy is a real challenge. I was going to try 3d printing with a clear filament but couldn't find a good enough solution. All the best for your build.
Beautiful work, I’d like to know if you would consider creating a cutaway Slave 1 with full interior? Much like they do with other cutaway models like the Enterprise?
Thanks for the kind comment. I'm afraid a cutaway is not on my radar I already have a project list which is way too long. I'll have to leave that to another modeller.
This thing is looking great! I really like your rotating cockpit. I was wondering would you have any advice or guidance to where to get ahold of some of those great reference pictures you showed?
Hi Justsomeguy, check out the link in the description for the source photos. There's lots on the 'Modellers and Magic' site. Websites like the 'Replica Prop Forum' (RPF) are also very useful. There are a couple of good books available but these sites are the most help.
Something I’ve never understood is like how hard is it to like a video on UA-cam how can you have 1000 veiws and only 100 likes 😩🙄 very sorry sir but you deserve more although I can tell this is more of a passion project for yourself so I’m sure you’re not all to bothered but please know I think we are all very impressed with your styrene skills you really mastered the art of kit batching 👏👏 have a good one and keep it up!
Thanks for your great comments SNAKE 53, it's much appreciated. Like you say this is a passion project. I am fortunate to have the skills and equipment to make pretty much anything I like - there is a long list, so you can expect to see many more such projects in the future. Please share and tell your friends,
Hi John. No kits will be harmed in the making of my Slave 1. I plan to replicate them as well as possible with 3D printing if I can get good references.
Progressing nicely! The details under the tail work very well and the aluminium pipes are spot on! Even though your design, as you said, isn't canon, it may very well could be. I mean - Slave 1 has gone through many modifications, so in my headcanon this might be one of those. :)
Amazing work mate - I love your attention ro detail. I’m working on converting a Hasbro Slave 1 toy so your advice on using styrene for the hull detail is super helpful - thanks.
Thanks Aaron for the great comment. I'm not sure what glue you will need to use for the Hasbro? Maybe superglue? If so, don't get the really thin runny stuff it will go everywhere. Best of luck with your build.
V envious, this is going to be one of the best Slave 1 repros I've ever seen!! The cockpit episode was mind blowing!! Can't wait to see it painted!
Hi Thomas, thanks for the great comment - very kind. Episode #6 will be out today, I hope you like it.
Kuat Systems Engineering approves of this.
They've been very helpful releasing a lot of classified info. I'm very grateful. 🙂
@@StaplesandVine 🤣
Nicely done . I'm really liking how this project is turning out. The detail under the tail section looks great.
Thanks Colin F. It's a lot of work but well worth it. The big stuff is out of the way now so it's now lots of juicy detailing. The wings might be tricky, and then there's the engines. Lots of fun ahead.
@@StaplesandVine Looking forward to the next episode.
I can't wait to see it finished. 👍
Hopefully it will be worth the wait. Lots more still to do, but I do love the detail.

Isopon is great stuff, I love it! I'm glad you are enjoying the build Mike. Lots of fun in the next episode 'Guns N' Greebles'!
Great content mate, really enjoying this build!!! I especially like the re-imagined nose, looks much closer to the screen model!! keep up the great work and content coming!!
Thanks for the feedback Scott it's much appreciated.
This video is so captivating, we love it! 😍
Thanks guys, that's much appreciated. I've just bought an Anycubic 6K to tackle some more builds from your files.
@@StaplesandVine That's good news, be sure to keep us updated!😉👍
Great work Sera. Love the cladding idea, a great way to homogenise the surface and get it ready !
Thanks James, lots of fun to come with the detailing. Can't wait to get stuck in. 🙂
Nice work so far! You are really good at scratch building.
Thanks, that's a very kind comment. I'm really enjoying this build, especially the detailing.
Great work. Very inspiring to watch :)
Thanks Uffe K. plenty more still to come. Lots of detailing in the next episode.
@@StaplesandVine I will look forward to seeing it :)
Absolutely amazing work. It’s been fascinating watching this series as you navigate through challenges. Congratulations on how far you have come.

Just discovered you today and I must say that’s some amazing work! Absolutely love the Slave 1. Keep up the amazing work!! Can’t wait to see more!
Great to have you onboard Hiccup. I hope you enjoy the rest of my channel. Plenty more 'Slave 1' still to come.
Amazing progress!! Truly inspiring, can't wait to see more, sir!! I'm happy to see the styrene method is working for your build as well!
Thanks for the support scaren67. It's a lot of work but well worth it. Expect to see a lot more styrene soon...
Really nice mate😉👌
Thanks Tim. It's a lot of work but well worth it.
I’m loving this so mych

Finally!
You wouldn't believe how much work has gone into this so far. It's taken forever, but I think the end result will be well worth the effort.
@@StaplesandVine oh yeah, it will be, it’s already amazing
@@StaplesandVine oh also if that came off rude it was an excited finally not annoyed one, just wanted to clarify
Don't worry, my skin is made of Beskar. All good. 😊

It looks like a street light
Yes it does. There was a rumour to that effect but it has been denied... 🤔

Some dedication. Will you be using kit parts on this?
Hi John. No kits will be harmed in the making of my Slave 1. I plan to replicate them as well as possible with 3D printing if I can get good references.
I want to build a rotating cockpit just like the one you made for this slave 1... is there a way we can get the stl files for the 3d print...
Hi Art Crow. I hope to release the files in the future as I have had a lot of interest. I just need to do some tweaking based on my final design.
@@StaplesandVine sounds great I can’t wait

When the episode came out
Well done. Plenty more to still to come. stay tuned...
This is going so well, its looking absolutely awesome, great work love the videos, just wish they were longer 😀
Thanks naughtymark73. It's a beast to build but at least the detail isn't fiddly when it's this big. Glad you like the vids sorry about the length 😁
