I just want to say I had a tear in my eye out of pure amazement by the end of your video. The research, development, and execution of this is seriously unbelievable. Slave 1 (and Boba Fett in general) is my absolute favorite of all time... across any franchise. It truly is the end goal dream of mine some day to have a studio scale replica of Slave 1 in my home. This is sooo inspirational man. Keep doing what you do. This is a masterpiece in the making!
@@StaplesandVine Yes 👍, this entire project you have been doing is amazing, from Your knowledge and research you have put into this. By Far the best model of the slave 1 anyone has created.
Thanks James. As you have found out CAD and 3D printing are pretty powerful tools for the modeller. It takes a long time to learn but worth it. I learn something pretty much every time I design a part.
Once again fantastic video thanks so much for sharing. . Love it. With my resin prints I use fine supports but lots of them. Like 80% and pull away perfectly no cutting it with zero sanding. It uses a little more material but had no fails so far. But it make post processing so easy. keep up the great work.
Thanks Ryan, glad you like my progress. I was getting parts pulling off the supports during printing with the fine supports. It could be because my parts are so large and have a big cross sectional area. Fine works well on small parts for me. Great tip though.
I’m also growing large parts too and using fine supports. (I have a phozen mighty for my home stuff. )It seems to works really well on large and small. The reason I tried it I had a demo at work with magics slicing software. And there auto system uses very fine supports and again it pulls away with very little damage. The one thing I notice is that you have to make sure the supports are supported hence the 80%. I’ve had zero failures and it saved me so much time on post processing. Anyway keep up the the video all the ones I’ve watched I’ve thought was great and shared with college they love them too.
Yes, I have allowed for that. It will be in the next episode when I get Slave 1 off the deck and on a stand. It was too vulnerable to add at this stage.
These videos are great ,I am planning on making this one in the future will you be releasing your cockpit and wing designs? I am sure there would be plenty of people wanting to use your designs to improve the original?
Thanks Mathew. I reckon that by the time I am finished I will have re-designed about 75% in CAD. I am very tempted to finish the job and then make her available.
Thanks Alessandro, you are very kind. I think there is a good chance I will sell the files when I have completed the build. I may well sell a set of files for the complete model?
This was really cool but we didn't see anything getting built. Don't get me wrong I mean was nice to see your thought process but I was really hoping to see some work getting done.
Thanks for your reply Sad Panda. It's a good point but scratch-building isn't a linear process like regular kit building. 95% of the work is in the design and fitting of the parts. All the parts require a LOT of clean up and adaptation on the fly something not well suited to filming. You did get to see two fairly large parts being glued together at the end though. 🙂

Thank you for such a wonderful comment SharkForge. I'm glad yo like my build, like you it's a model I have wanted for years. 🙂

Thank you @@aureum7479 that's very kind of you to say. I've just been filming episode #8 which will be out next Friday. I hope you enjoy it.
A thing of beauty mate, happy modelling 😉👌
Thanks Tim, glad you like my build so far. 🙂
Oho! Nice to see a follow-up. Sweeeet
I hope you liked the video. I'm just getting onto the home straight now. 🙂
A true artist at work. Amazing skills. Enjoyed the video every minute. Maybe ILM will contact you one day. 👍
Thank you Peter I'm glad you like my build. I would love to work with ILM on day - dream job 🙂
Wonderful work Sera. Thanks for sharing. Mike
Thanks Mike. Detailing up the underside is going to be a lot of fun as at least I have a good photo to work from.
Once again, another great video. Nearly there now
Thanks Marc, I think all the hard parts are done now. I do enjoy the detail so not long to go now, then painting.... 😣
Terrific effort! She looks spectacular!
Thank you Aluben Music. I am so pleased with how she's coming together. I'm designing the underside now so plenty more to come soon.
@@StaplesandVine looking forward to seeing the effort you put forward to completion... Keep up the good work! Thanks!
Fab scratchprinting Sera very cool and impressive. One day I'll be able to make something like that 😆

Another amazing episode. Can't wait till the next one.
Thanks Colin, glad you liked the episode. Hopefully the next one won't take so long. ☺
Great work! Can’t wait to see this painted!
Thanks, glad you like my progress so far. Painting certainly is going to be a challenge as it is quite a complex scheme. I won't dodge that bullet. 😏
Amazing work. I really found that part with kithbashing and refrence books very helpful
Thanks Henrik, glad you like the project and found my video useful. 🙂

Bravo! It's such a joy to follow this - and with the care for detail etc. Love it. :)
Thank you Uffe K. I'm glad you are enjoying my build. I'm currently working on the Porsche body parts for the underside - lots of fun. 🙂
Really impressive work and with your CAD skills I'm pretty sure you could have designed the whole model!
Thanks ray24051. There's no better way of learning than taking on a project you are passionate about. I still have a lot to learn but loving it.
13:55 - I'm extremely disappointed that you didn't fabricate actual working hydraulics. Juuuuust kidding. ;) Mind-boggling fantastic work, as usual.
Thanks John.... maybe working hydraulics next time... NO CHANCE! I'm currently enjoying getting stuck into the underside detailing - heaps of fun. 😁
When i got notification, i click immediately
Excellent well done. I hope you enjoyed the episode. 🙂

amazing
Thank you Shanks D, plenty more to come. 🙂
Fon't forget there is a link bar btween the two wings underneath that rotates with them.

Please do. I have these files also and have been trying to plan it out. If you release what you have now I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
@@StaplesandVine Again, please do? What you have done is...amazing. You have the .stl/.obj files.....reap your rewards! lol

Yes, see Episode #9. 🙂
Maybe make a jango fett one
Good idea, but I do like the classic Boba scheme. That will be my choice. 🙂

I quit
