This my sound wild BUT somehow I believe I’m related to this family. I’m almost 48 years young and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Unfortunately my father died 10 years ago (August 2013). Now it has become very important to me to know and be connected to my family… my entire family. I’m starting my journey to find my family ancestry/ storyline and I think 🤔 this is an amazing lead for me.
My family is Caribbean from Guyana 🇬🇾 / Suriname but currently most of my relatives are living in America 🇺🇸. I have been learning that My father’s family ( Van Tull ) history is connected to Netherlands, Portugal, and Britain
I believe my father’s family was owned by the Van Hoogenhouck Tulleken family. How amazing would it be to find out my family lineage all the way in the present like this…. Groovy ehhh!!!
Yes imagine it would be an understatement to be an uncanny meeting BUT this would be an opportunity beyond words to bridge the cultural divide caused by the slave trade. Caucasian & African descended as well as UK & US connection. PLUS I haven’t seen a genealogy ancestry show have this kind of twist as yet… It maybe quite a “family reunion”
I’ll keep researching just in case my gut feeling is incorrect BUT i had to share….
Their ancestors also come from Arnhem, the family coat of arms is exactly the same
What book are they looking at? I would like to see a copy
I think they are in Europe somewhere, probably the Netherlands with the surname beginning Van. I’m guessing a book like that is never open for public viewing!
It was at The Supreme/High Council of Nobility in The Hague. “Hoge Raad van Adel” in dutch. It lists all the noble families and their Coats of Arms. There’s a list of names if you do a search.
