good shit bro!!.. thanks for the video
Fantastic review. Very informative and accurate.
Just bought one, can wait to shoot with it Good review!
how was your purchase? Is it durable? I wanna get one, too.
Thanks for posting, excellent vid.
great vid and perfect info, ill get one
Im loving this new intro 😍
Hehe thanks my bro. Spicing things up
When I bought my Sony Nex-6 a few years ago I purposely bought the body only eschewing the zoom kit lens that is usually sold with it. I decided to opt for the 50mm f1.8 OSS prime lens. I've had no regrets. It's still my go to lens for most occasions.
ordered and am pretty confident that this is it for the beginning. Bought a used Sony Alpha 6000 for starting over and didn't want to miss out on a good lense
great choice. the 50mm OSS is brilliant
Thank you so much!
Hi Jason thanks love your videos. I'm just an average Joe but starting filming our holiday and looking like a freak with the ninja walk. I have an old NEX5T but keeping it retro and looking at the a6000 and a 50m F1.8 seems to get great results. Keep it up buddy
the NEX 5T is still a decent little camera. I also have the NEX 5R body and will be making a video about it too :)
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema waiting for you to do a NEX 5r video! or it already came out? can't find it
No sample images? Come on!
Great little lens! Definitely will keep my eye out for one second hand as I'm a bit broke from buying the mighty sigma 16mm lol. No regrets. Is it possible for you to do a review on the Sony 35mm 1.8?
what wrong with sigma 16mm?? I thought it is one of the best lens too!
@@mstialltime1778 - this 50mm sony e is great for portrait; Sigma 16mm isn't
LOL i'm in the same boat!
compare to the 56mm sigma? 1.4
interested from a video perspective :)
I have this and the kit lens only. 😊
Gracias amigo
thank you
How's the auto focus of Sony 50mm f1.8 apsc lens ?
Me: *Already ordered this on amazon with its arrival date for tomorrow before I saw this on my home page*: “Well what a coincidence?!”
Trying to figure out best camera choice for me for mostly video use. Want good focus, sound, good with motion of the camera and/or characters and as professional of a picture as I can get at around $1000. Some videotaping would be in low light and curious what video time length is on cameras. Thank you.
maybe take a look at the new a6400?
Sigma 30 mm vs sony 50mm which is best??
This is good for Zv E10 ?
Ist theire a Fe 50 mm without oss? I bought one in mpb IT Looks the Same nur doenst says oss in description 😱
I have a Sony A6000 and just have the kit lens. Want an all round better lens (for steady video and street photography). Would this one be recommended?
yes. this 50mm lens is great on the a6000 as it has OSS
You might want to go with 35mm or 30mm lens if u r into street photography. 50mm on apsc camera may be a bit limiting at some places. Sigma offers a similarly priced 30mm f1.4 (without OSS Of course, so it may not be best for hand-held videos)
Either way you can never go wrong.
is this still good for 2022?
I have a Sony a6400 does this lens’ OSS work automatically or is there a setting to turn on for it to work? sorry for what may be a dumb question I’m a newbie at shooting, thank you
Usually it will work automatically. I believe in the settings you can turn it on or off though. So be sure to check to see if it is on
Thank you
Hey morris would you recommend this lense for photography off pc gaming setups, and other tech Gear?
yeah for sure. It is a great sharp lens. It may be a little close so you may have to back up a little when taking photos. Check out the sigma 30mm f1.4 or the 16mm f1.4 only a few more extra dollars but a bit wider field of view
With alot of rgb lights /low light situations
Alright got you! Thanks
I have a Sony A 6000, but I am confused about choosing a lens, Sony FE 50mm 1.8 or Sony E 50mm 1.8 OSS please advise sir Thank you
50mm OSS would be best
Hi Jason. I got the Sony A6000 with kit lens. but the photos arent good enough. I wanna start doing Full body shots so the body is really sharp and background is blurry (wanna start build my instagram) would this lens be great for this or you would recommend something else?
Thanks in advance. Have a good day!
Just got mine today, and it most definitely fits that description, but the only con I have is that there is no zoom. It sometimes is hard to use in too small of an area, but that isn’t too common of and issue and is a great lens for indie filmmakers and street photography, ESPECIALLY Instagram.
@@benjaminwoodman Thanks! So you recommend the 50mm f1,8?
@@alexgrin6869 for what you’re going for absolutely. However keep in mind that you should not buy this if you’re trying to make it your primary lens for video as it’s not a very wide shot. But it’s great for insta pics and can take some cool footage.
Turning on OSS crops in the picture? At 1:11 unstabilized is wider than stabilized, do someone noticed?
@Why Me And the shoe got larger too? The whole fov changed...
how about sigma 60mm f2.8?
can u compare them?
I will see if i can get my hands on one
Jason can you do a review with this lense with the A6600? I would love to see so sample photos.
I will do that in a future video. thank you for the suggestion
Jason Morris thank you also we don’t really see any videos with the a6600 with the sigma 56,30,16mm and the Ziess 55mm 1.8. Batis 85mm. Would be super dope if you had a series of videos on the a6600 and sample photo. Basically also adding what you like and don’t like about the camera and lens combination. It’s complex series but you’ll be touching into something that no one is doing videos on.
i am more into photos and mostly i like to capture candids with fast movements like those of childrens, pets and events. Will this perform better than 50mm 1.8 FE in terms of tracking focus and sharper images? i am using a 6400
definitely this is better than the fe
@@boatfrog30 bought the F1.8 OSS..its just amazing.
very good information, i am ready to get sony a6400 with kit lens 16-50, i need one more lens , i have two options , 50mm f1.8 OSS and 18-135mm E3.5-5.6, which one will you recommend me, I am also seeking steady 4k content. Please advice.
I love the 50mm f1.8 OSS because it has a nice fast aperture. The 18-135mm is also great though as it has a very large focal range and is very versatile. If you don't need that zoom range than I recommend 50mm.
hows the auto focus tho?
I haven't tried the 56 sigma 1.4 yet. But the auto focus on this is super fast being a native sony lens. Also depends which sony body it is put on
Is this a 75mm equivalent or a 50mm equivalent? Like if I put it on a a6100 will it be 75mm or 50mm?
a6100 is APSC, so yes, it will be 75mm
@@dmytrobondarev9603 then like what is the use of calling it an APSC lens? If the crop factor comes into play?
@@anapekshamukherjee58 Full frame sensor size is a benchmark to determine the focal length of a lens.
Can it zoom ?
no
sony 50mm 1.8 or Sigma 56mm 1.4?
which is the best for sony a6400?
the only benefit the 50mm has is the OSS. If you need the extra stability because the camera body doesn't have it or you're not using a gimbal then I would go for the Sigma 56
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema well !! i use a gimball Weebill S + Post stabilization + Slo Mo but results are not good without OSS on Sigma 56mm see my video: ua-cam.com/video/vxq_yLltCiQ/v-deo.html
