They are a great camera I've been using the Bullet Cam for about 3 years, currently running the Mk2 Sony Chipset model. I've reported over 200 drivers who all had further action taken against them using video from my handlebar mounted Bullet Cam.
Well done, it's frustrating to have to put up with such lousy conditions that push us towards being mobile traffic cameras, as much in order to have reports taken seriously. I haven't had the opportunity yet to try the new version of this camera (it appeared just after I'd published this video!!) but it seems to tackle the poor led issue, though the supplied handlebar mount doesn't look as handy as the older one, which you can rotate easily to change the angle of view. Safe journeys and thanks for contributing.
With the Scottish reporting, I can confirm the online form is effective in getting attention - always had an operator call within 24hours to arrange a police visit to review the footage. Complete farce they scrapped plans for an online portal to directly submit footage though
Good review. Been using them for a few years. Approx 400 mostly successful reports to Avon police. Approx two a day at the moment. Helmet-mounted is useful for catching the phone users. Always worth having a peek inside a German car... Low light reg capture is terrible - might consider an upgrade once current one breaks. The non-boxy shape is vital for me as I want to be under the radar plus not look like a complete dork!
I have this camera, and have used it mounted to my helmet with the velcro. I discovered that the footage is slightly smoother as my head acts as a gimbal. Simon at the Always Another Adventure YT channel also makes the valid point that in the event of a collision, a helmet-mounted camera would prove that you turned your head and looked. Food for thought, anyway :)
I use the camera on my helmet for the reason you mentioned, plus, if someone were to get out of their vehicle, as long as I'm making eye contact with them, they'll be on film in case things get physical.
Nice video and very informative and what a lucky miss, that bit of video sold me on I need to be riding with a camera! I have not been without a dash cam in the car for the last 10+ years and it now feels wrong not to have one, I have even transferred them to hire cars when I have had one, so its stupid not to have one on the bike as well. As I have invested 2.2k in a new ebike along with insurance for the first time, I thought id top it off with a camera as 75% of my ride is on roads that are brimming full of idiots trying to kill me. I was very close to buying the 4k version from chilli but after a quick bit of research i found the exact same version on Ali Express for £60 rather than £99, if Chilli had have been £70 then I would have bought there to support a UK seller but saving £40 for putting up with a couple of weeks delivery was too good and a no brainer in these times. The Mk2 listed at £69.99 can be picked up for £35 or less. I think Chilli need to be a bit more competitive on pricing if buying in bulk he has a very large mark up. I wish I could support them but its not to be at the current prices so its a shame as I really like his passion and content on youtube. If it was a no issue replacement for any faults within the first 18 months then it maybe would be worth the premium.
Like 9 👍 Greetings from Naples, Florida. Wow, what a great idea. Like the 1080 and the wide lens. Thanks so much for sharing with us, have a great week. 💯
I like mine and have used it for reporting twice. I have made my own mounts as theirs are cheap and not especially good, but using 3D printers works well. The frustrating thing is the flashing LED light is pitiful, so seeing it flash in the daylight is difficult and checking it is on is difficult.
The led light on mine is too dim in daylight. It seems they've made some improvements to this in the latest model, released not long after I posted this video! If i can justify spending the money I may get the newer version and try it. Good idea to make your own mount. I like the one i have that came with this camera as you can turn it but i think the new version is fixed.. one step forward, one back? Thanks for commenting.
Why doesn't it suprise me it was a bmw?
You are a victim & have to be told whats happening

Thanks, useful points.

Do you mind sharing the make model of the AliExpress equivalent?

They've just released a newer version which seems to deal with one of the improvements I mention. I'm considering buying one to review.

The LED on the new WiFi 4K Bullet Cam with Image Stabilisation is a big improvement
I was glad to see they'd done this. How do you rate the stabilization on the new version?
It's slightly better compared to the original mk2 and about the same as the mk2 with Sony Chipset.
