  • Landings are difficult, but there is a moment during training where they start to make sense. After all the botched ones and the go arounds, something finally starts to make sense and students start producing some consistency. Today is that day for JD. Great job brother!
    Enjoy the landings!

this trick for holding the nose level until it drops away has really helped me... in flight sim. It helps to get in practice going in full power, with no flaps, into a super long runway, (which I know is so against sop irl but this is a simulator) and I just float down the runway until the plane tells me it wants to land, and then I pull back to keep the attitude right and have a really smooth landing

I can relate to this! I started training 3 weeks ago, and last week we started circuits. I've been progressing pretty fast through the material, and I was expecting the same with landings although I faced lots of difficulty with flaring. My instructor and I worked on it in the circuit for a while and I made plenty of hard landings. The next flight and about 2 bad landings in, it randomly clicked with me and I was able to make 3 pretty good landings in a row. I should be going solo in the next 2-7 days!

Was the same for me. Once I realized I had to KEEP pulling back and KEEP the airplane off the ground until ALL of the airplane's energy was gone and the airplane had no choice but to come down...then my landings got much smoother. Two signs you are doing it right: the stall horn is going off and the control yoke is all the way back when the wheels touch down.

Not exactly what you'd call a "sterile cockpit".... ("Save that for the shower")

No no ...( I gave the second one )... he made the dog shitting comment , distracted him, on final, not on purpose of course .... No one was in real danger . But it did throw off his timing and made him do the go around. If it was more of a serious environment , (i never had a conversation about ANYTHING ELSE BUT THE LESSON THAT DAY untilI soloing a few times with my mentor . he would have made that Landing like he's done 30 times before. That was my thumbs down reason 😉🤫🤐, The video is he does are awesome Diane and I love the guy ... we have a great time watch them ! But when your instructor fucks with ya during Final .... its bad...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤒

Use of distractions is something the FAA put in the ACS for examiners to use to test the candidate. So why would it be a bad thing for an instructor to train the student for this? This was a perfect training scenario and one that I use a lot with students. Not necessarily dogs taking sh*ts 😂

Such a serious lack of professionalism. The cockpit is NOT a sterile environment with you! But hell, I laugh my ass off with your videos! Sure wish you were in PA as an instructor!!!!!
