Just wanted to throw in there (I'm at the 22m point of this video ATM) the song they're covering is "Sex Dwarf" by Soft Cell.
The perfect drug is the coolest music video ever made
Yeah. It was the best shit, and it took me years to get that song on CD.
@@Lexx2k i had the lost highway soundtrack , well i still have it but thats what you needed lol
The song you didn't know is sex dwarf its a cover( can't think who does original) they used to play live a long long time ago
The original version was made by Soft Cell, which was a band that Trent made a cover of from them called Memorabilia
Bike pants were a thing back then
Really enjoyed your commentary and watching this footage. Thanks 💘
No, thank you for watching it with me! I'm happy to hear you liked it
Holy shit that original vid for March of the Pigs looks AMAZING. I read somewhere that it was Robin making the prank sex call, not Danny, but hey, my sources could be wrong.
No, you are correct. I just checked and It was Robin, not Danny. Thank you for the correction. I can be wrong from time to time ;3
I heard the reason it didn't come out is because it was around the time Trent discovered that his manager John Malm had been embezzling from him and he had to sue, and it kind of derailed the release.
Who knows.
Is that why he scraped Nothing Records? I never really looked into why he did The Null Corporation when he already had a Label.
Finks left leg has a mind of its own, every live show he's trying to kick himself in the face w/ it lol
They had dem Nokia black bricks with the snake game
Danny Lohner even sounds like Brad Pitt
I've been corrected. Apparently it was Robin.
Thanks for the upload. +
thanks for watching it!
Wowow am I in heaven? Another video do i deserve that, i guess i do.
It's going to be a busy week ;3
"... make a Johnny Cash cover a single? "
*****TRIGGERED*****
LOL.
;)
CD Punk I will sub only because of this comment
Also no offense cuz you seem decently knowledgeable with nin, know all their names and videos, but I've actually seen you mention Hurt being a Johnny Cash song a few times.. It's actually a Nine Inch Nails song back from 1994, Cash didn't cover it until 2003..I'm sure people have pointed out my last two comments but I was only bored enough to watch this video and not read all that.
Nm, guess you're like me, people don't always know when I'm joking either.
Word ;3
First and oh boy another CD Punk video
Haha. This was great. Thanks for the laughs. 🙂
Can you repost without your commentary please? The link in the description links directly back to this video.
22:20 is a cover of 'Sex Dwarf' by Soft Cell, never released, not sure if it was ever played live.
Commentary during Reptile from Woodstock was fucking everything!! Thanks, you made my night!
My own commentary on your commentary about naming a band "Echoing your voice", I'd rather use the next line "Ringing in Your Ears" for a band name and just try deafen people with loud ass noises.
It could start off really low in volume so they have to turn it up just to be able to hear it, then boom, you throw a wall of noise that's turned up to 11 at them. Grammy guaranteed.
Adrian Belew, you dropped the ball , Trent
Those were Adrian Belew’s guitar licks
I remember you getting the equipment to film this after you quit the Complex. What was that record store you worked in on Pico? Love NiN your doc is tip top
The lowered strap crouch was the goth girl Robert Smith versión of saggy pants >.>
I believe that was an unreleased music video for Hurt. Just saying
I have no idea but thank you.
What the fuck is what he says at minute 16:50, just when they are mixing "memorabilia", it's my idea or they say something like: "What do your nipples look like?" How to sample ?, please let me know
That's exactly what he's saying! Oh, and it was apparently Robin, not Danny like I had originally thought.
It was so weird how they’d like tackle each other live and literally just hurt themselves, I never understood what that was all about is it some edgy joke or some sick fetish lmao
Carter Beckwith in all honesty is was just a way to get attention. Doing crazy shit got people to talk about their live shows and made people want to check them out.
CD Punk ahhhh good point, i always tend to forget social media and things like UA-cam weren’t around then so you had to do abstract promotional stunts back then to create word of mouth haha
I think it was just them having some fun. Me and my friends love leaping at each other at random (might be part autism/ADHD)
That song that you don’t know or never heard of is called Sex Dwarf and it was never released
Ah okay. I seem to remember they played that at their first ever show? I just remember seeing a live video of them playing it in the 80s. That would have been the only time I've heard of it though.
it's the band soft cell

Dude really?? A cover of Johnny Cash?!
It was a joke, friend. Relax ;3
CD Punk I know man, just giving u shit. Love the sarcastic humor
Wait what show was it when the fat guy came on stage and everyone stopped playing
I feel like that was New York but I don't remember. It was during Closer though.
Hmm okay thanks dude huge fan btw
@@CDPunk what year was it btw
I can’t find it
@@Chi_95 I can't find it either :c
It would have been between 94 - 96
I havent seen in years, I hope it hasn't been taken down.
Hurt is he's song not cash
It was a joke...
Woosh...
Cash not song he's is Hurt. OP is just dyslexic, makes perfect sense now.
Trent did not cover Johnny Cash, Johnny covered Trent. Stop the misinformation
It was a joke. I know that and I'm pretty sure anyone else watching will know as well. I highly doubt non fans would watch commentary to bonus content for a VHS tape released in the 90s. this isn't exactly something you just happen to stumble upon unless you already know a bit about the band. :P
Really dude?!? Nin covered a Johnny cash song? It's reversed. Study up before saying anything
You need to study up on sarcasm, friend.
So many things wrong with this video couldn't finish watching it so first off that was the original set from hurt it was originally written by trent not Johnny cash and that is the original set and the video was released it was on mtv all the time back many years ago if you dont know or didnt know that's what the video was him with a big screen behind him and some of the tracks that you here are diffent from the original is because there from the album further the downward spiral it's a real album I use to won it on cd and not s bootleg either and most of this footage u can find on the closer movie with all the original music videos it's an amazing movie
you need to understand how to detect sarcasm, friend.
@@CDPunk very true I have never done to well with that
I hate your sucky dialogue, but you’re like Dennis Hopper in Speed , you’re keeping us hostage and at your mercy. Or like Pepe Le Peu.
Always love Robin Finck!!!
My piggy doing "Reptile." It's beautiful 🎶🎤
The video is awesome but the commentary obviously came from a boy band fan.
A "boy band fan?" Care to explain?
For the record, "Hurt" is originally written by Trent. Not Cash.
I was joking.
@@CDPunk sarcasm lost. 😐
but i was being sarcastic during the whole video :c
