I love banging these on in the morning and synchronising the time to today. I fell back asleep watching it and genuinely woke up worrying that I was late for school!!! Was freaky!!!
I’d forgotten how they reran the opening theme at 8am as well as if the programme was just starting. Loved this classic version with the postman, Liverpool Street with the old slam door trains and the camera coming in on the original style house
@@laurarules3642 If the show was released in 480p format which is what is obviously was back in the 90s, it would be a total of 1.24TB - 3.72TB depending on the amount of compression. That would be between 264-792 DVDs. Or it would be between 25-149 Blu-rays discs, depending on single layer or dual layer discs.
The U.K. was safer, more fun, zanier and there was a degree of optimism back then. I'm not saying it was all bread and roses but I can't help thinking that we are slipping into some unpleasant new dark age I blame my generation for messing things up.
We're not the kids watching it and laughing, we're the adults now and its our kids watching whatever they are on UA-cam or TikTok. It's the exact same cycle our parents went through, how the next generation consume media is fundamentally different
the contrast between everyone watching this first thing, bright, fun, light hearted, upbeat, cheerful, energizing an positive, contrast this to what is known as good morning britten or what i call it bad morning argument, nagative, depressing hate filled angry group of people all slagging each other off. this this is all part of whats wrong these days.
Good comment. Makes you consider how we are MADE to feel by the Media. They can easily put something upbeat on in the morning if they actively chose to do so.
Chris Evans and Gaby Roslin....brilliant presenters. I loved watching this morning show way back then. It was a great fun start to the day!! Does anyone know who's taken over 2 Lock Keeper's Cottages now The Big Breakfast show has finished?? I often wonder what Chris, Gaby, and also Ben the Boffin are up to these days!!??
1.) This is (as I post this) just under 29 years old and 2.) compare this to TV in 2023 and you can see clear as day how scripted and plastic TV is nowadays.
Because of the situation of him only presenting three shows per week throughout 1994, and also taking a week's holiday in September, he only had -nine- twelve shows left. And only three paired with Gaby, as she was about to take two week's holiday in September. I was actually doing the maths recently on how many shows Chirs and Gaby hosted together 1994, and I estimate that the figure could be as low as 40. There's no concrete proof that I can get ahold of, but from my memory Chris took a huge amount of time off in the first few months of 1994, and also reduced his appearances to three shows per week when he was there. But Gaby also took a lot of time off, pretty much the entire school summer holiday was hosted by Mark Little And Dannii Minogue, and there was a huge span of other guest hosts earlier in the year. Despite how it may seem, only the last few weeks of 1992 and the span of 1993 were really the Chris and Gaby era. 1994 saw very little of them paired together. Their holidays always clashed in such a way that they hosted with guests way more than with each other.
As the news came from ITN on the big breakfast it would make sense to have Angela Rippon doing the news I think she left TV-am to join ITN or the BBC I don't know what she did before TV-am

I'm more left wing and I agree. Don't generalise. It came to end under the Tories. Everything that's happened over the last 14 years is down to them. They are the ones in power. This country went downhill under them
@@lauralishes1 I think you’ll find it sorta started with Blair. Yes I agree the Toris have fxxked the UK, and Labour are almost certain to get in at the next election but if you think it’s bad now then strap yourself in because Labour are going to completely fxxk the UK.

wow this was so nostalgic, even the adverts and movie reviews, thanks for sharing!
I would buy the entire Big breakfast if they realised it on DVD id far rather watch this than anything that's on TV today
imagine all the discs. the show ran for 2000 hours of television

Could fit that on a hard drive no problem
No you wouldn't let's be real
Okay whatever I'd still buy it even if the DVD BOX Set was the size of a suitcase
When TV was actually good. TV needs a light hearted breakfast show again, ITV are missing a trick here.
It's far too positive and optimistic, not the vibe the controllers are going for at all these days.

It was cancelled cause the viewership died, then they did reboot 2 years it but was to expensive so they cancelled it again
