A LOAD OF BLOOMING CATCHPHRASES THE FAST SHOW DOCUMENTARY 2020 TAGS: THE FAST SHOW, A LOAD OF BLOOMING CATCHPHRASES, DOCUMENTARY, COMEDY, FUNNY, #documentary , RichHollaAnyVid,
Do you know what the saddest thing is my daughters who are in their late teens have no comedy, cultural touch points. If you grew up in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s even the noughties with the inbetweeners but nothing in the last ten years. No shared comedy and to me that is very sad.
They still have it, there's some excellent sketches in this doc. I wish they'd do another series, 2024, we need something to make us laugh.I'm not quite Rowley Birkin yet, but I'm trying, need to work on my gibberishishic nonsentical wafflings.. : ) Not seen this one, thanks for posting.
Rowley Birkin is one of my favourite Paul Whitehouse character's of all time 😂. Paul's innate ability to bring these characters to life, and to make us feel like they are real people is something I've always admired. His Julio Geordio sketches from Harry Enfield and Chums is nothing short of genius 😂
Shame about no memories from the big stars that did it , dont think Johnny Depp was the only one ? But he should have been on here regardless.. He loved the show so much he used Fast Show lines in the Pirates movies.
met simon day at gatwick airport mid 90's, peak of his career. well, when i say met, i nodded at him, he nodded back. it was a great time in my life. maybe his too.
Celebrity nod reciprocation has been sadly in decline since the age of the smartphone. I got the reciprocated nod from Michael Sheen and Robert Carlyle..... which was nice
The Fast Show, defined my early teens, couldn’t wait to watch it on a Friday night (after shooting stars) on my sisters crappy portable TV (mum and dad would be watching Gardeners World or something on the proper tv)! Back at school on the Monday me and my classmates would spend the entirety of registration quoting the latest Fast Show episode!! 😅
The fast show was and is cult comedy absolutely genius Favourite sketch of mine is That’s amazing when Paul goes on to tell bob about what happened to him while he’s cleaning his swimming pool and he can’t stop swearing Makes me cry with laughter
Spent a wonderful couple years in the 90s away from my home in Canada and living in UK. Loved the Fast Show, Red Dwarf, Black Adder and so much fantastic Brit comedy. Favorite Fast Show sketch by far which I still reference to this day is Rowley Birkin. And the best one was so typically unique to great British comedy much like the infamous tragic last scene of a comedy Blackadder Goes Forth where they g over the top to their deaths - where Rowley talks with great joy (and 80% incomprehensible as usual) about his first love and great sadness at losing her. Still embedded in my memory all these decades later. Genius.
Nostalgia makes people forget that it was a very hit and miss show. They remember the hits and forget the misses. It was probably 40% genius and 60% shite. And some of the later sketches were absolutely terrible.
I don't know why various comedies get repeats, but this does not ! Fast SHow really was superb.....any anyone over 40 will know the catch-phrases instantly - the mark of greatness !!
RIP Caroline 🕊️
18:14 what a tribute. So perfect. I cried when I saw it first time and John’s acting still brings a lump to my throat
Not fair that you can make me cry by saying nothing 😢
That was very powerful and cut me like a knife!

Me, in a girls dorm, at 2 in the morning.. with my reputation... What were they thinking ? 😅
Excellent to see them together again. Loved the show. As did all my mates in school. Catchphrases definitely iconic 😊
I said we miss you Caroline what did I say Roy?
You said “you say it best, when you say nothing at all.”
18:13 this just broke my heart 😢😢😢
Yes. Roy only had a voice if she asked him.

Hope kidz these day know about the Miss Schumacher reference.
Rowley Birkin must be canonically about 105 by now 😂
Watch The Royle Family to date. Always cry on the wedding day.
Perfect Roy not saying anything. Emotions and understanding already clear 👌
The Fast Show was a must in our house. Sorely missed

Pure Art - improvisation & craft - so it will live forever
What a legacy!
Bloody heck, I didn't even know Caroline Aherne passed away 😢!
Used to love every bit of her on The Fast Show.
I'm afraid I'm very, very drunk.

I've got tears of laughter running down my face. Brilliant. Bloody brilliant.

@A-small-amount-of-peas that's nice, it shows acknowledgment and appreciation without intrusion.
How sweet that early onset pain in the Neck was mistaken for a nod!
Did YOU?........ DID YOU F........

Hmmm. Nice!
The Fast Show was funny but not cruel. Unlike Little Britain (which had its moments).
Sorry to read your deaf and blind!
Suits you was the unfunniest thing in it.
Aren’t documentaries about classic 90’s comedy brilliant…?
Black!
For all those who are not Brits of a certain age, The Fast Show has and will influence the English language as much as William Shakespeare. 🤘😎
Nice joke now. Apologise to William Shakespeare and say you'll never ever say that again.
@@lordeden2732 I'll get me cloak then... 😒
