How about his advocating for the US military to begin a bombing campaign against Iran in the Fall of 2020? Look, he’s a perfectly nice, regular guy, who’s a fellow vet and qualified to co-host a weekend news show, but he’s not Secretary of Defense material.
I don’t think anyone disagrees (except liberal media) especially since the last time we saw how General Mattis went, everyone was let down, even the Marines were like, “that’s not what we wanted.”
Hegseth specifically stated that if WOMEN CAN MEET THE EXACT STANDARDS THE MEN MEET - then he has no problem with it. Hygienic issues are a separate thing but the Standards are his main issue (he discussed this recently)

There is no comparison regular guys go to selection and Ranger school without any special training or after deployment and pass . If you want to maintain the status quo, you put in one of the people who were responsible for the mistakes of the past 20 years. If you want to fix things, you put in someone who actually experienced those problems first hand on the ground.
Mike I was a Soldier in a combat brigade. I retired with 32 years as the Brigade CSM. There is no such thing as one weekend a month in a combat Brigade. My total time on orders was 15 years.
Yea, there is always shock on the new guys faces when they show up and they realize its 4-8 days a month plus schools and usually 21-28 days for AT, MOB includes multiple rotations through NTC etc. Especially if your Brigade and Company are the "tip of the spear". You might as well just get on ADOS and make it a career because you'll be there damn near full time anyway.
Active duty is an isolated echo chamber that accepts many misconceptions as gospel. I saw a lot of hard chargers come from both the Marines and regular Army, into the reserves over the years and they usually talk a lot of shit at first until they realize that they aren't really better soldiers just because someone pumped sunshine up their asses. They quickly come to realize that holding down a civilian career, keeping the bills paid and still being a competent soldier, takes more versatility and self discipline, rather than less.
@@JP-ec9rlExactly. Even for things like PT. I was active duty and then transferred to the RC after a decade or so break in service. It takes much more discipline to stay in shape when you have real life responsibilities outside of the military. Of course there were full timers in the unit that were there all the time and were the continuity and supervision of the unit. They could work out on government time, attend career progression activities and schools etc... Us weekend warriors had to figure it out on our own and many weren't even near a base to access facilities. We were still expected to attend all the same schools and achieve the same level of proficiency as our full time counterparts. The difference was that we had to put our civilian lives on hold to do it. In reality I believe that some of the best troops are in the RC. They are generally older, more mature and have figured out how to meet and beat the standards all while managing all the outside commitments. There were many people who would work their civilian jobs at night and be on orders and doing their military job during the day . Just think about the guys that are pilots, firefighters, cops, doctors , paramedics, whatever and the depth of real life experience that they bring to the table.
I seem to remember there was another guy named Pete who has no experience, but somehow is a cabinet level secretary… Oh, that’s right, he checked a DEI box…. that’s what mattered.

If women want to join the military, combat or non combat, they need to register for the selective service like the men. I’m sick and tired of all these special privileges for women and special consequences for men.
Just clarify, I have spent a very long time in ARNG as an Infantryman. There are many Infantry officers within the Guard without a Ranger tab. The main reason is funding. Many states do not want to keep their Officers on AD any longer than necessary to gain their qualifications at Ft Benning/Moore. And the other reality is…not everyone completes Ranger School. Not a knock on anyone who didn’t, it’s just a reality
Also the sad reality is that states’ National guards get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to schools funding. Usually we are so tight on a schools budget for a year we usually don’t get to send our soldiers to the high speed schools unless there is a direct MTOE ASI that we can justify “big army” giving us the authorization to send an attendee to said school.
@@BeyondThe-b3v yes but it’s pretty much a rite of passage, that all infantry officers have a ranger tab (especially in regular army) not so much in NG

I got out in 91. Was a 13B the entire 6 years I was in. Even then, we started hearing rumors that in the near future women would start being I produced into combat arms. The objections focused on how men, specifically lower ranked enlisted, would behave. As a proud E4 Mafia member, I totally agreed with that observation

Look, he’s a perfectly nice, regular guy, who’s a fellow vet and qualified to co-host a weekend news show, but he’s not Secretary of Defense material.
America needs warriors! Gods speed ❤.
Read "The War on Warriors" and you will know Hegseth is just what we need.
Which 99% can't. And the few who can have better things to do, because they're high-level athletes.
The question is are all of the logistics / sexual tension issues worth introducing for the sake of 1/100 women who can do this.
@@jeffreygunn3530 And they still lack the upper body strength. Just as Serena Williams; she called BS on the "women can do anything men can do" canard.
There is no comparison regular guys go to selection and Ranger school without any special training or after deployment and pass . Mike, its so awesome that Pete is coming in. When Milley and Austin were nominated, i was like “oh combat dive green beret and ranger qualified guys should be good. Hell no. Pete seems so reasonable and aware of GWOT and post GWOT problems, i think he’ll do great
If you want to maintain the status quo, you put in one of the people who were responsible for the mistakes of the past 20 years. If you want to fix things, you put in someone who actually experienced those problems first hand on the ground.
Milley was a big disappointment.
@@The_Red_Off_Road Milley needs to be in prison.
Miley has a "Combat Div" badge?
Thank you for your service CSM.
Man i shed a tear when u said youd do the job for the va. I love your channel i pray for u and your family, it broke my heart. Im a gwot vet too. Thank you man
MIKE GLOVER for Secretary of Veterans Affairs!!
Love this. It’s a great experiment to see how well a “normal” vet does in this job, especially a young GWOT bro.
Tired of Vietnam era four star general war hawks on MIC boards

@AverageJoe483 exactly but it's a bit late for asking ourselves that question. Also the first Trump administration contributed significantly to escalate the tensions that led to this conflict turning into a war. Anyways, he will have a cohort of experts and advisors so hopefully he learns a thing or two along the way
Thank you for your time and perspective!
The more the Deep State and the Flags bltch, the more I like him.
So the more unqualified he is, the more you like him? Like if you were hiring someone for your business, and the qualified individuals were saying, “no way, this guy isn’t qualified at all.” You’d be like, “let’s hire him.” Like do you hear yourself?
@ 😆nice twist and reframe of what I actually said. Laughable actually. You’ve not done an ounce of research on any of these picks OR you have zero regard for the Constitution and the limited government it directs. Probably both apply
@@cowboy101lisa no I have done quite a lot of research about them actually. And know people who work in the respected fields these people are being appointed to lead. Also I have no idea what the constitution has to do with thinking someone is qualified or not, besides giving congress the ability to vote on appointments. Can you even describe “the deep state?” Genuinely asking, because you guys usually throw it around to talk about anything you don’t understand or like.
Tulsi suggested, as an American Hawaiian, that Ukraine should "just comply with the invading army". You really don't want to see her financials? It's the most unAmerican statement ever made. He was on Shown Ryan Show...i think they lay out his history also
When? I’m unable to find it. TIA
I’m tired of 4 star generals getting to be SecDef and then mandating masks, the vax, DEI, CRT, pronouns & Trans madness. Pete is exactly who we need to get the Military back on course. His interview on the Shawn Ryan podcast last week is excellent. I highly recommend anyone to listen to the entire podcast rather than the news. He’s already been misquoted on several things he covered on that podcast
Bother you nailed it, we need a huge change in the DOD!!! Start with the top guy and work top down and bottom up! Take care thank you for sharing God bless you and your family.
Excellent video, Mike! I strongly agree. I scratched my head at first, but then what I have seen that he has done outside the military for veterans, as well as inside for his troops, I think this is the last chance we get to shake things up. We need to clean house, and retire every two star and above with our gratitude and a good swift kick in the pants out the door.
Lovin the relaxed format brother. All the best to you man.
Aviation in the guard and reserve are required to complete the same annual requirements as active duty so we do a lot more than the 1 weekend 2 week requirement!
Cav is the same way brother
Air Force Reserves, I earned a living flying. Obviously, WAY more than just a weekend a month.
Communication in guard for ten years, traveled all over the world, definitely more than 2 days a month and 2 weeks a year and I held a full time job to pay for my version of the American dream.
Still a big difference compared to active duty… promotion standards and quality of life are tougher as an active duty member compared to a reservist.
@@vicn1349 I've done both. Absolutely not true. As an air crew member on the C-141, My standards were equal to my active duty counterparts, to which I also served.

A lot of people don't know there is a difference between Ranger school and being a Ranger in a Bat

N.Y. Rangers preferred here !

Just watched him on The Shawn Ryan Show. It’s an upcoming podcast. Maybe someday you could be on there, Mike… In all seriousness I feel like Shawn is a pretty good judge of character. If he vouches for someone, they’re good in my book.
If women want to join the military, combat or non combat, they need to register for the selective service like the men.
I’m sick and tired of all these special privileges for women and special consequences for men.
I like this idea.
I'm also 100% permanent and total and I second Mike for Sec VA!
Let’s be real, the Ranger tab is cool however it doesn’t make them anymore lethal at all… I know because I have one lol

Mike. I was just going to mention this. Over the last 20 years, the two days a month two weeks a year was a fallacy. 21 day AT’s were the norm some of ours were 30 days. And they were production rotations. Not so much training. And a crap load of MUTA 6’s. Guys were pulling 120 days a year easy. With ADSW and TDY. I had to have many a talk with employers explaining why there employee was gone so much. Pete being a commander probably fell into this category. If not more. But you are spot on.
Many have also spent nonmilitary time on the border or natural disasters.
Mr. Glover, I do appreciate your insight and views on these matters, the breakdown is very helpful to understand more than just the obvious cover of the situation. Thank you sir very much for your service and your words!!!
When looking at the past 20 years of socalled qualified brass ,what they have done to the military and the dramatic downwards spiral sense the Ohbama administration . We need a other than normal approach.

Yep. Nicely stated. Clearer than what I wrote. The more the Trump administration looks like a pirate ship, the happier I am. Great change can only come from immense moves.
Oh yeah… and Lloyd Austin went awol when the country needed him. And the military went super woke under his supervision, and cheered it on.
The military industrial complex's pipeline for recently retired Generals and Admirals going straight into prominent positions within any of these defense industry companies has to start coming under more scrutiny. No more cronyism!

Mike I totally appreciate your honesty and no BS assessments of things. You've broken this down into simple terms.
I got out in 91. Was a 13B the entire 6 years I was in. Even then, we started hearing rumors that in the near future women would start being I produced into combat arms. The main objection anyone that cared to comment on it had nothing to do with a woman's abilities or a lack thereof. The objections focused on how men, specifically lower ranked enlisted, would behave. As a proud E4 Mafia member, I totally agreed with that observation
Watch Hegseth’s recent episode on Shaun Ryan…he tells you everything you need to know about what he’s like to do inside the pentagon.
Would love to have seen Douglas MacGregor.
MacGregor is the best choice.
I think that Trump is trying to build up a future generation of younger leaders, but I sure hope that we don't miss out on Colonel MacGregor's potential contributions in the process.
I think McGregor would be the best but what keeps him out is his views on a certain country in the middle east.
@mikejohnson2098 Ironically, if his views on that matter were applied to the situation, it would probably be in that country's interests in the long term.

It's actually not. That's why retired flag officers have to be granted a waiver to even fill that post. SecDef is supposed to be a civilian, not a general who swapped a uniform for a suit.
