Thank you for visiting our city and glad you had a nice stay! Also, most people don't really care if someone mentions Eastern Europe, it's still Europe, some try to be avoidant in this regard because there has been a particular stigma throughout the past decades towards Eastern Europeans, but this is rapidly changing since more people come to visit and know a bit more about us and our countries. Stay inspired and lots of love!
Thank you so much for your lovely kind words. We really enjoyed our stay in your city and look forward to exploring more of your country in the future.
Geographically, Europe starts at 10 degrees W and ends at 60 degrees E. The mid point is meridian E 25, which incidentally crosses right through central Romania.
Hi guys, I'm a Romanian and I want to thank you for your video. I watch pretty much every travel vloggers that visits Romania. For 15 years I didn't go back for various reasons. I enjoyed your story and wish you good luck on the travel vlogging adventure. cheers mate 🙌
Even if my username does not make you think I'm Romanian, I really am. I just love seeing foreigners visiting and giving a, can we say, feedback to my home city, Bucharest. Hope you've enjoyed your visit! Very nice video!! 🇷🇴
Welcome to Romania, please don't listen to the people who speak badly of this country, those people are trolls, people with foreign interests who have the role of destabilizing the country, real romanians who love their country would never say anything bad about the house them, we are proud of what we have, it's true we have many things to do in this country but with the time we will do everything.😊
For when you will want to come back in România I have made a list of some places you can visit: a very beautiful place is Therme Bucharest, it is the largest and modern complex of thermal baths in Europe, and you should really go to Salina Turda in Cluj, it is amazing, Castelul de lut in Sibiu, which looks like a fairy tale, the Palace of Culture in Iași, Trasfăgărășean and Transalpina, are two of the most spectacular mountain roads in the world, Lake Bâlea, Vidraru Dam, Red Ravine, Mud Volcanoes, Danube Boilers, Egreta Complex in Brezeasca, Danube Delta, Sphinx in the Bucegi Mountains, Corvin Castle.😊
@@AntonandBella With great love, what I have recommended to you are absolutely amazing places and a little advice to be able to move more easily when you come here you can rent a car. P.S these are just some of Romania's destinations, but are very many 🇷🇴❤️🤝❤️🇭🇲
Thank you for the kind description of our city. The city of Bucharest isn't actually that large (for a large metropolis, that is ) at just 240 square kilometers of area. For example, Sofia and Kyiv are both double that size. However, Bucharest does have extremely high population density compared to other Eastern European capitals, and does indeed have large open avenues and lots of parks.
Thank you for sharing those interesting facts about the city size. We really loved being able to walk around the city so easily, and as we shared during the video, had no idea how beautiful and green the parks were too.
" Monstrous" building? The House of People is a really magnificent architecture & construction. Yes, the biggest administrative building the world and the majority of Romanians are really proud of it!
It is a hideous mistake. I wish they had demolished it in the 1990s as reparation to the thousands of people who were forcibly evicted for it to be built.
@mihaelapolverea1865 Thank you for leaving a comment. In Australia, we often use the word "Monstrous" to describe "huge, amazing, magnificent" objects. It's always a positive term.
@OneTireFire Thank for sharing. That is something we didn't know, but it is an important fact to be aware of for visitors to the city. So again thank you again for letting us now.
@@AntonandBella One fifth of the city (which, as you noticed, is quite big, so that's a lot of square footage) was demolished in the mid-1980s for the palace and the surrounding buildings to be erected. It's really sad and many historic parts of other towns also met a similar end. The 1970s and especially the 1980s were disastrous for Romanian architecture heritage. Our towns and cities never really recovered, and most lost their charm and character when beautiful old architecture (much of it unique to Romania consisting of bespoke projects that were commissioned from excellent architects) was torn down and replaced with prefab highrise drabness.
@@AntonandBella Oh, that's new for me! Probably , what's awful, ugly, , monstrous( huge & unpleasant)...in England the ladies on Lady Juliana upon arriving in Sydney, they made it look like magnificent ( huge & beautiful), or maybe it was necessary to look at the new world through " pink glasses"😀. However, even if you don't like something while visiting somewhere else, you should be a little more polite, or that's how my Romanian culture is.
Its not a city that makes you go wow but what its better at than Paris or London is that its mostly clean, there are almost no homeless people and its much safer.
The main street that was closed off just for pedestrians on the Sunday was Calea Victoriei. We walked up that street towards Piața Victoriei and then up towards the Arcul de Triumf along the E60. The street food market festival was along the E60 just as we entered Parcul Kiseleff. Hope that helps.
@@alangawith470 go to "vacaresti" there is a artificial lake that never get finished ,its now a urban "reservation" since in 38 years only animals found refugee in there ,its only 15 minutes with taxi from centrum ,you can film it from above ..but you must ask the driver to let you where you can go on top maybe at the "rin grand hotel "side of the lake ,no vlogger has even been there yet

I wouldn't want to say the same things my fellow romanians already said so i'mma give some piece of advice. at minute 4 only the "mici" were traditional, none of the other dishes were even remotely romanian, we just like to think so.
Thank you! After that dinner we did fall in love with the taste of sarmale as well as mamaliga and of course, papanasi for dessert. We definitely know better what to look out for when we visit next time.
@@AntonandBella It would definitely be a bummer not to enjoy the actual traditional cuisine. I'm glad you enjoyed sarmale though, hope you'll come back for more
That is not traditional food. Totally wrong. In the romanian villages you can taste the traditional food. You tasted just commercial food , fake as traditional.!
Thank you for the comment and yes we discovered that the food suggested to us at our first dinner, apart from the mici, was not traditional. Although we didn't record it, for the rest of our stay we did et to enjoy some real traditional food including sarmale, jumari, drob de miel and for dessert a papanasi. It was all very delicious! We even got to hang out with some locals which was great as they explained much more about the food to us and gave recommendations for future visits to Romania.
