Aww, I'm glad you do ! ❤ I love Italy ! Over the last year, March to December, whenever I visited Bucharest specifically, there was an ENORMOUS number of Italians, mostly young, visiting ! I had no idea of Bucharest's growth in popularity and how it came to be, do you know what started it ? As most Italian tourists were young, I suppose that they are coming for the VERY diverse party scene (that I wish I had in my town 🙈) and affordable prices (compared to Italy). There is also diverse architecture, the 'Little Paris' charm with grandious structures and the food scene is also good. Oh and the fact that you can eat arancini served by Italians themselves in the old center, next to the iconic CEC Palace (and really cheap!), helps as well ! - Of all the terrace tables, I was most probably almost the only Romanian, one evening 😅 The other 12-18 people were Italian tourists 😌

Nice to see Bucharest through the eyes of a positive, bubbly and smart girl. Although I left it years ago, I do miss it, but I would never live there again. The traffic, the pollution, the lack of green spaces, etc make it a hard place to live in, that’s why many young people dream of leaving
Come on! Lack of green spaces? In Bucharest? You must be kidding. I don't know what "etc" means, but no one is invoking pollution by going anywhere other than to the rural areas of Romania or to small towns, maybe mountain towns. Young people want to go, for a better income, to other equally polluted European cities. Their dreams definitely have nothing to do with traffic. But if their dreams were to do with parks and green spaces, Bucharest is the perfect place.

Even we had two cars when I was growing up in the 90s there! I certainly don't come from a rich family, it's pretty normal. How representative is this? Those kids heavy a higher social background. In terms of gross minimum wage in economy, Romania has the third lowest minimum wage in EU27. Romania exhibits notable differences in salary levels between urban centers and rural areas. Major cities like Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Timisoara offer higher salaries due to the concentration of economic activity and job opportunities. In urban centers, the average monthly salary can range from 8,000 to 10,000 RON, providing residents with a relatively comfortable standard of living. Conversely, rural areas often experience lower average salaries, typically ranging from 3,000 to 6,500 RON per month. The brain drain in Romania is very large (even they say it, who want to leave). Its population has fallen from 23.2 million in 1990 to 19 million today. According to Eurostat figures, the overall number of resident permits issued to non-EU nationals for employment reasons reached a record high of 31,079 in 2022, up from only 1542 in 2013. In the whole of the EU, only Croatia and Malta saw biggest increases in the period. Non-EU workers moved to Romania from countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. Once in Schengen, this workforce will have absolutely no restriction of travelling abroad and getting a job [which is] better paid, be it in Hungary, Germany or France. So this image presented here is not representative at all of Romania, but a feel good moment
You left out the fact that Romania has the highest home ownership rate in the world and 96% of the population are homeowners in Romania. In Western European countries the wages are higher but at least 50% of the income goes in rent.

Romanians learned from the Soviet people to steal and it seems they loved it. The Soviet union Red Army left Romania around 1959 and Romania never had Soviet military bases on it's territory. Romanian military under foreign command (mainly Soviet Ukraine) was your ally Stalin organization and finished with him. And from where are they ruled now?
@eedragonr You do not need to occupy a country to control its politics and economics. Right now they mostly rule themselves, but things have changed dramatically this year because of what has happened in the US. Their politicians and business leaders probably understand this, but does the average Romanian? Probably not.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. Of course, it's a challenge to include everything about social and political life in Romania. Our protagonist is a young person growing up in Bucharest and she is showing us her life there.🇷🇴
@@dweuromaxx she's a privileged kid from one of the wealthiest suburbs! you couln't even get the name of the high school right. you are a disgrace to journalism! this is fiction for 99% of romanians

@@Andrea-qn2hryes it is lmao, arenyou even romanian?
This is such an useless video, what is even the point here ? There is no real information, but considering is DW made, I am not surprised.
ITS BAD AND AWFUL AND WE FEEL DOOMED IN OUR COUNTRY
Sorry to hear that. Is this a sentiment widely felt amongst young people?
That's only because you consider it bad and awful and you feel doomed in your country! Complaining will always bring you more reasons to.complain. I know that from personal experience. People in this country are professional complainers, it's the only thing we're good at.
@@dweuromaxx no, its widely across the country.
@@coldburrito5818 i ve did all the things i need to do to be happy in life and i cant get a job, only 500€ hard working jobs, my parents invested a lot in my education and for what??? To be called for interviews and when i arrived there they told me i dont have an interview and to go home, they already had the job promised for someone else. I m done with romania, they can take dogs from the street to work their jobs i m never working for romanians again EVER.
@ imagine we have a failing education system, we have only 2% of our people, as educated individuals, many of romanians dont have to recognise that they have been undereducated or failed by the state, they have to work to warm their houses to chop wood, give food to animals, herd the sheep, they dont have internet or any chance to educate by themselves instead of schools that are failing to do so
Excellent video : they are young , smart and living in Bucharest Romania. This is wonderful ☝️👏❤️✊😊💪.
Thank you! 😃
Real
I see that you were at the State Jewish Theater in Bucuresti. You are not Jewish though? Is it a theater everyone can use?
everybody can use it, you don`t need to be a Jew
No hate though!
Budapest way more beautiful and lively, nice to see Bucharest though 👍
❤️ happy you liked our snapshot of Bucharest
Lively ? U mean in a Rainy cold grim winter day ???
@sorinpopa1442 exactly what I mean, on rainy day cloudy, stormy windy, Budapest looks like there's more life, busy, fun.. whatever you wanna call it...
But Bucharest is a richer city with a much higher GDP per capita than Budapest.
@Flavor_Flav GDP is 900 billion in Romania, GDP is 480 billion in Hungary.. Romania is twice the size of the economy. Yet Hungary and Budapest is nicer and more developed..
But GDP per capita in Romania is $21,500 and it's $23,700 in Hungary..
People are more rich in Hungary as individuals and more purchasing power.. but Romania has a bigger economy.. because Romania has more people ...
Young and European ? What if you are Serbian, you are not !???!!?
Nah, only old Serbians 😂
shes pretty, shes gonna make a lot of money as an escort in london
Just like your mother do ?
Bucharest is the ugliest city in Romania. Change my mind
It rly isn't. Just go for a stroll anywhere in the north of the city. You're welcome.
Does she have any idea that her country is about to be ruled from Moscow yet again? Will she even notice when it happens?
You are crazy bro 😂😂😂😂
@@heartsfear9216 You are not my "bro," but you are some combination of ignorant and naive.
Romania has been a NATO member since 2004. Putin won't touch it.
Young and European? Since when Romania is in Europe? It's a balkan country in the near east, Europe is something else.
Well, the Balkan Peninsula is in Europe. So is part of Russia for example. Near East may mean different things depending where you are on the globe. If you mean culturally, well technically speaking, all the Western culture has its roots in a Balkan country. You may have heard of it, it's called Greece. It may help you if you start reading stuff, ideally stuff that have facts and not whatever it is you are reading that it teaches you such nonsense that the Balkans are not Europe.
@@anghellupu You shouldn't talk to guys who have STDs. They will never be satisfied with chatter 🤫
I think you need to take another look at Europe's map, Romania is in Eastern Europe. Not Asia, not the Middle East. Europe. That is why they are also past of the European union, yes?
Romania is both geographically in Europe and politically (EU member state). 🇷🇴
@@Tabbylover55 being in the European Union doesn't mean a country is in Europe, in the past Israel and Turkey wanted to Join the EU despite them being in west Asia better known as the middle east, the EU is just a business organization.
