Yes, extremely underrated. I've seen him in person, he usually plays in small venues. Chris's voice is true, he sounds exactly as he does on his recordings. I can't say that about too many artists, except for David Gray, who is also extremely underrated. They both are great and write music that means something. Don't judge an artist by a song that went mainstream.
one of the best jams you'll hear!! The whole band is tight as a drum on this. Sax player Johnny Reno is from another planet and adds another dimension altogether. Unbelievable performance by all. DNA will show Chris is the love child of Elvis, Ricky Nelson and Johnny Cash combined. What a voice!!
He's taken it to a whole other level in my opinion. I've busted this song out at various parties and gatherings over the years and it's overwhelming acknowledged as being kick ass and then they ask who is it. When I tell them I always get the question, you mean that guy who sang wicked games or No...I don't want to fall in love... with you. Lol I'm like yep.
If Elvis and Johnny Cash had a child this would be the result. Chris has a solid career but I just don't think he gets the credit he deserves. Then again he could have gone strictly commercial, instead chose to write and recorded what makes him happy. Thank goodness he has great taste because he makes us happy as well! I love that his band has been with him from the get go, they really cook esp. live. Great great artist.

Don't feel bad. I somehow, 🥴 forgot about this song, & ended up having to Shazam it several times to get the name (as the clip was so short), whilst watching the Oct 21/22, ABC 20/20 episode Dial M for Missing (in which they were about to go on an international manhunt for Peter Chadwick, a millionaire who killed his wife. In Aug '19 the NBPD got a tip that sounded credible, passed to the Marshall's, who contacted a reliable commander of the Mexican Federal Police Force. Less than 24 hr later the Mexican Police had zeroed in on him. Aug 5/19 they did surveillance on his apartment for 5 hours, then knocked on his door @ 11 pm, arrest warrant in hand. He was apparently shocked, then scared . Extradited back to U.S. to NBPD where he gave a full statement. 2 day trial Feb 8 & 9th/22. He plead guilty & was sentenced to 15 years to life, with a minimum 12 years before eligible for parole. ) He plead not guilty when 1st arrested - most likely to make plans & allow him time to accumulate cash etc, before running - although he had his lawyer disclose the location of his wife's body just over a week after his arrest. HE did a bad, bad thing. Or 2, if we're going by deaths. Then there's the sis of the girlfriend's paralysis, & the devastation he caused her family, his 3 sons, & extended families. He got off WAY too easy IMHO
Wow, i'm really stoked about this version!! Thought the official recording/video was the only one i really dug....but this one just swings, percolates, & then blows the lid right off of the thing!! And that green shirt-- oh, mama
If you've never seen Chris Isaak live, get your fanny in gear and go see him. This band is outrageously good live, and Chris is so funny. You won't see a better concert anywhere.
Saw him at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire while on vacation years ago. Great concert. Didn’t get to meet him, but seemed like he’d be great to hang out with.
I had the EXACT same thoughts when I watched it for the first time just last night. I've just jammed this song with my partner and we've actually come up with a really cool cover version of the song. It's soooo much fun to play! I play sax, flute, guitar and am a vocalist too, so this song really rocks my world.
At that moment in time, Chris Isaak, Kenney Dale Johnson, Rowland Salley, Hershel Yatovitz and Johnny Reno were without question the coolest people on the planet.
I fully agree. Perhaps because he's gorgeous; perhaps because he's a throwback to times gone by, and that's just not PC now. I met him last summer at a concert via a VIP package, and he is the most genuine and dear soul! We in the San Francisco Bay Area have always been so proud of Chris. What a dear!

Saw an interview once, Chris talked about how he and his brother used to play music to Thier mother whilst she was facing death. One of the saddest but also uplifting interviews I've ever seen, brilliant vocalist, musician and one of a kind.
Chris Isaak. Remember the name. 🔥🔥 Have loved this musical genius since ages. Never ever disappoints. A voice (and modulation) like no other. This live performance was sheer magic. Specially the jamming at the end. Absolutely LOVED It 😍😍❤️❤️

It was a great song for a very short-lived and underrated series starring Michael Woods and Josh Brolin. He played s sax player in the film "Roadracers" 1994.
How could we not notice! The whole bank is rocking Chris.
Johnny Reno.
The whole band was so deep in the groove they could have cut diamonds
Great comment.
They don’t make men and voices like him anymore. He is so underrated

I'm thinking if they had a cousin....
dunno.......seems more Morrison and Canned Heat than Elvis or Cash on this one.
Sorry to disappoint you but the originals in the band are long gone and this ain't them in this video either.
I hear Roy Orbison and very little Johnny Cash
I always say you can tell true musical talent when you hear the person live, and they sound awesome!! Chris Isaak is amazing and a true talent!! ❤
Yeah . So say all of us !! Great mantra. Works for me..
