"Release Shutter w/out Lens" is also there for using manual lenses (I leave this on for my cameras because I own a few MF lenses). If you put on a manual lens, the camera will not "think" there's a lens installed, but by turning this on, you can then use manual lenses without the autofocus contact points on the lens.
#1:21:10 x2. It would have taken me a year or more to figure out what you taught me in this video. Watched it twice. Now a subscriber. I'll be working my way through your library. Many thanks.
Hey. I am getting this camera for Christmas . As a visual learner, I appreciate you making this video. I cannot wait to upgrade to the camera. Thank you for the content and hard work.
dude that preview AF explanation was amazing! I've had my r50 for about 1 month now and its the only thing that bothers me. Thanks for the awesome video!
Thanks for making these videos for the canon cameras! I just got a new camera from a different manufacturer and I’m now remembering how much of a pain it can be to learn different menus and abbreviations. I retroactively really appreciate how helpful this video was when I got my r50.
This video is super helpful!!! I like really need this kind of step by step guiding video! Thank u so much for doing this long and clear guiding video!!!❤❤❤
Jared, thank you very much for this video and other helpful content! I'm learning my Canon R50, and I learn better this way than just reading a manual 😅
Thank you for taking the time to make this video! Question about lenses from an amateur.... I got the kit, so i got the 2 lenses, but I read that there is a "nifty fifty" lens that is a must have. What is your opinion? I also love to do macro photography as a hobby.... what lens would be best for that?
Thanks Jared and Steven. I bought the R50 so that I could have a smaller camera to carry around instead of my R5. I selected the R50 based on your review and the price point. So far I am happy with the results I'm getting. I have been using my L lenses but would like to find a smaller, lighter lens so that the entire system will fit in a fanny pack. Have you used any of the STM lenses? I am looking at the 16 and 24mm which have mixed reviews. Thanks again for making this video it was very helpful.
Thanks Jared, Great informative video I just got the R50 and love it, I was looking for the option to use manual lenes as someone else mentioned and found a few other handy features too. Thank you
This was super helpful I’ve never shot cannon before and I picked up the r50 for super cheep wish the menu system was a little better though Also didn’t realize how expensive RF lenses are
Why do you recommend using a card reader instead of a cable directly from the camera to the computer? taking SD cards in and out is another way to get them corrupt.. i've had them fail on me while taking them in and out a few times before.. never again.. i always do cable transfering now
Could you compare the R50 vs Lumix g100 ? Had a Nikon D3400 awhile back , got pretty deep into landscape/wildlife/night photography. Trying to get back into it , but can't decide between these two mirrorless cameras.
Thanks Jared, Just Picked up this first Canon R50 Switched from A make that you do not play with ;) But still learned a lot from you in the last years. so Thanks again. This year I will be going to the Olympics in Paris, and plan to do some backstory photography and video work for social media for my work company. Are you also going to attend? Might see you there then
Is this any different than the r10 in terms of menu settings? Looking for a grab and go camera to take picures of my motorcycle up against murals and stuff. Would the r10 and extra hardware controls be any beneficial? Pretty much just taking out and taking pictures.
Can this camera process internally a group of bracketed pictures and blend into a single raw file. Please I need the answer. I know both r10 and r7 can do it.
On the R5 there is a setting called "Movie Servo AF Tracking Sensitivity" where there's a sliding scale. On the low end of the scale -3 is "Locked On" where the focus will track the face no matter who else appears in the frame. On the Canon R50 there isn't a setting called "Movie Servo AF Tracking Sensitivity". Is there an equivalent setting that locks focus on the person you tap regardless of who else enters the frame?
17:47 Genius explanation: "Tv is not to watch TV, or Netflix, or anything between those lines" :))))) All in all: great camera for absolte beginners (though RF-S lenses aren't that many great ones...), but mediocre and frustrating for pros and experienced photographers that just a small, light travel camera. For them, the R10 can be an entry point. Ugh!, and needing to have a flash mount adapter to use a non-digital-shoe flash...
34:56 why is it called Drive Mode? You don't have to answer this because its just my curious mind, and it probably doesn't matter to anyone else. This is tab 6 and it has the settings for continuous shooting and self timers...but why is that called Drive Mode? What does Drive refer to? Its driving me crzy. Anyway, I love your video, ages ago when I bought my first Nikon, your Users Guide video was indispensable to me, so now that I bought a Canon R50-I bypassed all other searches and went straight to your video because I knew it would be the best. Thanks
Drive is referring to Framerate: whether you want it to shoot one picture, 5 pictures, 10 pictures at a time, etc. Self timer is included. It's like telling your car should you be in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear, etc. How fast do you want the camera to shoot. Hope this helps
my r50 that i bought new got red and purple pixels on its sensor.how can i fix it??cuz this camera dont have the cleaning sensor option that people say most of the time gonna fix this problem
Hi anybody give me guidance.. recently I bought a canon EOS R50, so when I take a photoshoot on the screen the image looks normal after checking the gallery I'm showing like *mirroring image* so how to fix this issue? Are there any options in the camera mirror on or off anytime else?
#watchedtotheend I learned the +\- or up on the d-pad cycles through the exposure settings. Bought this camera for travel as a lighter cheaper option over my R6 and R7.
#igotthisfar thank you for this video i pick this camera up today as a upgrade over my canon t2i, overall this channel help me improve also love the LR presets fav is skittles
Dude you have so much knowledge on this camera. I get it, however I do wish you would break it down over a few videos instead of cramming it all into one. I don't understand the push from people who undoubtedly have the skill set to teach us assume that this in the only time they have to share knowledge about the subject matter. You have my attention now please break in down. Thank you
i know you hear it all the time but are you able to make regular videos with as much info as you can....seems limited and what you prefer...but....try a video acting normal you are not funny or entertaining.....thanks
I hope you enjoyed this User Guide. If you found it helpful in any way, please give this video a thumbs up. Thank you!!!

good point!

The fact that you can get uncropped 4k for 600 is amazing. I just wish canon had third party lens support or more lightweight, less expensive lenses.
they have enough low end glass for now
@@froknowsphotoMore than enough low end glass. I mean if you want bottom of the barrel glass, canon crop is where its at 😅😅😅😅
Well you're blessed, tamron and sigma lenses are coming soon
Just bought the R50 and I am going thru all the settings as you explained them. Wow, that was a lot of information, I hope I saved it all correctly.

An absolute fantastic video! Had this camera for 8 months and your video has helped me fall in love with photography again as I was loaing patience :)
I always watch your videos and learn. The way you teach is incredibly helpful and inspired me to keep practicing. Thank you so much Jared!
I just bought an R50 kit and a 55 - 210 lens. Your video was great. I learned a lot and I'm hoping for some great photos.
Excellent video - watched all of it even though shooting from 5D MK I's! Pretty impressive.
Thank You so much, and fabulous 👌 Guidance. I just buy R50 3days ago. Again thank you very much. 😊
This video is super helpful!!! I like really need this kind of step by step guiding video! Thank u so much for doing this long and clear guiding video!!!❤❤❤
Amazingly useful video. You've explained everything in nice, clear, precise details. My camera settings make so much more sense now - thanks!!
Got this far - thanks so much as I had a mirror Canon before and this has helped me get setup to start snapping away again.
Thank you for this video!!!!!!! So much better than a manual. Love the way you explain everything!!
16:49 PHILLY PHILLY!! What Mini-HDMI Cable HTC-100 are you using for the R50 to your monitor ??
Just got my R50 thank u for the video so helpful 😊

Hey Jared im first time mirrorless camera guy, thanks for yr video, You da man behind the man..
Very jocund and amusing, but also the perfect overview for us true beginners...
I could not agree more!!
I'd like to see a video of your set up for sports photography.
Thanks Jared, Great informative video I just got the R50 and love it, I was looking for the option to use manual lenes as someone else mentioned and found a few other handy features too. Thank you
This was super helpful I’ve never shot cannon before and I picked up the r50 for super cheep wish the menu system was a little better though

Absolutely amazing video, making setting up a new camera fun 😂

Hi Jared. I would appreciate your take on RAW VS CRAW.
Thank you, sir, terrific video. Watched the whole thing! And, I'll probably be back for a refresher session. 🙂
Great user guide. Much appreciated.
stay like this. never changed. keep it up.

Thank you soo much for this video. It helpt me a lot :D

This was exactly what I needed, thank you so much!
Best setting tv mode... please
Great video, but my new camera won’t record or take pics?? Ugh, so frustrating!!

Does this camera have a built in intervalometer for photos? (I know it has a time lapse video feature like many other Canon offerings). Thanks
Is there any way to make the shutter silent on auto mode?
Hashtag Thanks! I made it to the end!
So does lens automatically focus, object one video i watch shows it being done manually or does this r 50 offer both i am debating which camera,to buy
Thanks for this video! Well explained.
Thanks for your work on this. I’ll watch it later today. You’re very engaging and motivational.
i know this is an old video but I can't find the answer - does this camera auto focus in high frame rate like the M6 MKii?
Great help, mate!
This is very helpful, thank you so much
Thank you Fro! Much appreciated...

Anyone suggest a good lens (or 2) for video on the r50? Mostly indoor, family get togethers, parties, holidays… Thanks!
16mm f2.8, 35mm f1.8
Finally 🎉
Thank youuuuuu😊
Como desearía que esta guía esté en audio español.

Hey Fro, where the heck are you? It's Christmas time in Africa, do they know who Rick James is?
#igotthisfar great instructions and walk through of the functions of this camera.
USB c port doesnt charge
Yes it does, but not with any cable. Mine works with cables that are meant to take some power, like my external SSD's, but any phone USB-C won't.
100% viewed....
Yay!
Hahaha 🙋♂️ hi Taylor how are you 😝
