    A Jedi of the XPro 1. Superb, have just gone full circle with cameras taken about 10 years but have returned to an xpro 1 because of the sensor . Thanks for the informative video Jorge.

    The auto setting in the white balance is the only NEUTRAL option for changing the white balance shift. I forgot to say the word "NEUTRAL" 😂. You can change the shift with some of the other white balance profiles, but you're imposing whatever temperature those are set to.

    After shooting primarily film for the last 4 years my xpro1 has sadly been sitting in a dark drawer. Of course, everyone knows film prices are ridiculous these days so I’m trying to get back into it using it for every day work. Your content around the xpro1 settings has been inspirational to really get into utilizing the settings and optimizing my camera! Love the content, Jorge, keep it up!

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому +1

      There might be, but I haven't explored it yet. Simulation recipes take an incredible amount of time and work, fine-tuning the profiles and making sure that it actually replicates the colours properly. Check the Fuji x Weekly site just in case, they might have created something like that.

    My xpro1 is jumping back to base in the q menu from custom profile after switching the camera off. Is there a possibility that it stays at the last used custom profile?

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому +1

      Interesting, so the camera will display "basic" on the custom selection every time you press the Q button, however that's the selector only, if you pay close attention to the actual settings, these stay the same.
      Another way to do this is to go to the shooting menu, page #3, then select the custom settings there, at least in my camera the settings stay the same after turning on and off, could you check and let me know? Thanks!

    Hello Jorge! I love your photos with the faux Classic Chrome recipe. I recently bought an XE-1 + the 35mm f/2 and was experimenting with it today. I was only in doubt about the exposure compensation. For your photos in this video, what value did you use or rather what value do you recommend for a 100% sooc trigger? Thanks in advance and congratulations for your channel, I am a regular visitor to your videos.

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the kind words friend! And welcome aboard.
      First, I don't always use exposure compensation, when you have the camera in full manual mode, the exposure compensation dial is disabled, It does not do anything. When you have at least one of the settings in "A", (iso, shutter, or aperture) the exposure compensation will be enabled to whatever is that you selected.
      Second, I expose for the highlights in almost all of my photographs, I evaluate the frame and expose manually where I can since there might be frames where exposing for the highlights will confuse the camera, (think of a really bright reflection of a moving car, or a tiny piece of sky that is blown out, etc).
      I use the histogram to protect the highlights and expose them slightly to the left. Ultimately, I am the one responsible for exposing correctly, not the camera, so I won't listen to what the histogram is "supposed to be" and to do that, I would set up the EC to -²⁄₃ or -1⁄₃ (IF I'm doing aperture priority, but most of the time is just full manual mode).
      I hope that helps! How's the X-E1 treating you? curious to hear your thoughts about it. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! I appreciate it, friend! 🙏🏼✨

    Hey Jorge, yesterday I got the X-Pro 1! My first digital camera (been shooting analog mostly).
    I looked up the recipes on Fuji x Weekly and what stands out is the auto ISO up to 3200. And then it also states exposure compensations.
    But from what I noticed and also read online is that the Exp Comp doesnt work when on Auto ISO..
    Can you help to clarifying this for me?

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому

      The point is to shoot with intentionality, to know what you want and to try to get it in camera, that is the best way to master the craft, control the settings and get the results you truly want.
      I made an entire video explaining some of the decisions and reasons behind my actions, you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/9tbf6UTuHbE/v-deo.html

    there is no way to get a WB shift on that camera, that's quite unfortunate

    • @matthieuzglurg6015

      correction : there is a WB shift, it's only separate from the WB settings, and a bit more limited

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому

      That feature, plus if the camera had the 1st x-trans sensor would make the x100 my default recommendation for people getting started! It's a great camera and I really enjoy using it, but I like the X-Pro a little bit better.

    Why is the ovf focus point so far off when framing a shot ?

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому +2

      The guidelines inside the viewfinder change depending on the focal length that you are using, since the OVF is analog, it displays guidelines to simulate the frame. That being said, you can freely move the focusing point by pressing and holding the AF button on the bottom left side of the camera and then using the D-Pad to move the focusing point.

      I see why you would suggest shooting in raw. You could potentially get more out of your images. But I like shooting with intentionality, getting as much as I can in-camera, making me accountable, makes me better. And with raw you miss out on all of these amazing simulations as well.
