His voice amazing. He still has to learn how tell the story. This is a song you don't sing... This is a song you need to beg. You need the audience to believe you are in complete panic. He has the voice to do it but not the experience...
@@christinebrett4825 I was wondering the same thing. Even as a guitar player myself I don't see the need. It's fine and I loved this performance I saw at the Proctor's Theater in Schenectady NY. It's such a dramatic song. I'd say let him act it out from the beginning. But I'm no theater guy, just a rock & roller who sang JCST in choir way back in high school. All in all this show was a wonderful experience. I loved it!
Seriously impressive. Hopewell's voice is incredibly flexible and flips into those high notes in a way I have not seen of many others in the same role. He understands the assignment as the character and the notes he has to sing.
He is absolutely amazing! The most important things are having really good breath support and matching the pitches with your voice. And yes, he totally understands who he is and who he is playing in the show. I am proud of him and his friends too!
I just saw the show in Reading. I am a huge fan of the Ted Neely version and saw him perform live twice. So...knowing the guitar was going to be used, I was skeptical. But he did a great job, guitar did not distract at all. It was a great version of JCS!!
Jack Hopewell's rock curve in the high note fits the song well.
Was lucky to see this twice in Boise. He is an amazing talent! Can’t wait to watch his career 🤩
❤❤❤

I think it may have been easier if they didn't want him to play the guitar at first

The director made the mistake of making him play guitar. As an actor it's an external distraction from an internal performance.
You wouldn’t have any other songs recorded would you? Thank you for this and for Superstar also!!!!
Sorry these were the only two I captured
How did he do during the temple scene high notes?

what's with the guitar:(
Its really weirdly distracting
I'm more creeped out by the man-bun. I didn't know Jesus was a DB bro.

And he did let his hair down for the whole flogging and crucifixion. Lol
