I have a C5 manual, practically identical to the one in the video…and it has massively impressed me. It’s way better than I was expecting it to be, handles really well, cheap to run and it’s even decent on fuel (managed 39mpg UK on one run!) and plenty fast. Plus it’s practical! Being LHD in the Uk isn’t a big deal in the C5 thanks to the excellent visibility, you can use the hatch glass to look right when turning left.
Very nice to know your experience in the UK with the car! and very nice to own a car like this in the Europe, what your friends think about it? they like it?
@@CarHunterFast well tbh my friends are all car nuts pretty much… slightly mixed opinions on it I guess… a lot of them have much more expensive cars on the whole… generally though the public seem to love it, everyone wants a ride out in it. Everyone I take out is surprised how good it is. They expect it to be a wallowing old yank tank with no power… and when it carves a corner like a good European sports car and shoves so hard their glasses come off their head… it blows their mind, folks are usually beaming after being in it and can’t believe they’ve been lied to about American cars. It’s a very easy LHD car to drive in the UK due to its very good visibility. Like a left turns I can use the rear window to look to the right. Something that’s not possible in something like a challenger. Plus I have had 39mpg Uk… (like 34 US) on a run… so it’s not even bad on fuel, certainly better than most stuff offering sub 5 seconds to 60!
That car is a LOT faster with only a handful of minor upgrades. Back in 01 I had a 99 c5 and with a tune, upgraded intake and exhaust it would hit 190mph
What I don’t understand is they say that the Corvette finally grew up that they don’t know how to make cars oil for instants the Porsche 911 debuted in 1963 Corvette has been in production and then making them good car since 1953
He's talking about all the options available in the car - cd player, traction control, power memory seats, tire pressure readings, etc. calling them "gimmicks." Yea, we "greedy Americans" had all that back in 97' while they're just catching up in the 2010's. Every car has that now. LOSER!!!
No, the Corvette is not a muscle car. Something like the Challenger is a muscle car. The Corvette is labeled as a high performance sports car, same as the Porsche 911. It's a sports car that uses a muscle car style engine basically. But Muscle cars in general are not sports cars because they are usually on the heavier side and are less focused on handling ability and aerodynamics.
I've had my 98 C5 for 25 years now and I never get tired of its good looks.

@@AimForTheBushes908 lmao still nothing
If you have the base 273 differential you might be close to 190mph stock.

All corvettes are red 😬

I was sold on this thing...until you went to Botswana for some godforsaken reason, to get their opinions. Gotta reverse and think Porsche now.
I'm not sure about the supercar label, I think muscle car is much better, and that soundtrack is glorious. This was quite a car back in the day.

The drastic, plastic, slingshot? Wow, a little biased don't you think? Or maybe just jealous.

The quality of this video is so bad (both audio and video) that it is simply unwatchable.
