A 'true legend" that I'd never heard OF, though I had unwittingly HEARD numerous times. The stuff you learn on Y/T - a One Hit Wonder - five times over! Like many pop acts of the time, it appears that Edison Lighthouse was a producer's creation, not an 'organic' band. This was the nature of the record biz; as The Byrds put it "sell your soul to the company, who are waiting there to sell plastic ware!" I sure hope this guy managed to get recording royalties out of the deal, though the song writers probably made most of the money!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful clip. How I would love to have been in that room! I was 20 at the time, living in London in 1970. It was a favorite song for me then, and still a favorite. Such amazing memories for me. Tony seems like a wonderful guy, humble even with all his success, and I am so glad he is still around and seems to be enjoying life. As I am, thankfully, at 68 years of age. Memories like this are some of the things that keep me feeling young, and continuing to enjoy life.

Tony and the guys were just wonderful.. What a treat to see them perform this classic hit, recently. Tony can still belt it out. I loved this song when it first hit the charts and l still love it. It is so nice to come to You tube and listen to Love Grows as much as I want, as well the other great songs, Tony sang lead on. It's fun to watch the audience, who remember this song, having fun singing along.

First time seeing this clip, and I am just pleased as punch to see Tony Burrows & Co singing this wonderful song. He is such a talented guy having sung several "one-hit wonders". Since he sang those songs under different band names, everyone says those groups are one hit wonders, but in reality Tony has at least 4 hits that I know of. BTW, I never dreamed that this tune had been sung by a Brit; it was definitely pitched at the American pop record market. So, the other day I finally learn it was this bloke Tony Burrows - a studio vocalist who made five hit records and sounded a bit different on all of them. He sang in an entirely different register on "Beach Baby" than he did on "Love Grows" four years earlier.
Edison Lighthouse actually had a second hit that hardly anyone remembers called "It's up to you Petula".

Tony Burrows must have been almost 70 in this clip. I guess the drink and drugs passed him by as he's looking and sounding good...
Quite a list of songs that Cook/ Greenway wrote but they didn't write Skyline Pigeon, Elton John and Bernie Taupin did although Roger Greenway may have encouraged them to write music they liked instead of what the publisher wanted them to write.
Oh and I love Tony Burrows, he should be a lot better known then he is, great singer.
