I luve seein how yer prep & use yer hauls & the scraps as well. Try the food warehouse & iceland there clearance freezer is always a great place feu gems. I grow veg & some fruits tae preserve feu winter use. Especially mint sauce frae twa varieties o mint. There was a book from the iwm on wartime cooking & it showed how to presevere foods as well
I was rotating the other day, my stock, not my body, way too lazy for that, and found 4 pkts of lemon flavoured custard creams I'd totally forgotten about, use by date July 2022. I thought oh hell, these will be proper soft, sludgy, mouldy and manky when I open them. Tentatively opened one packet and was absolutely astounded to find they're still fresh as a daisy and perfectly edible. Now I know they last, deffo gonna get a little stock of those, cos they've been in that cupboard at least 2 years.
Many things will last you years past the date . Funnily enough I have a video scheduled for keeping sweet preps😊
Just bagged pasta in 1#portions, in (2)5-gallon buckets, and still more to go. Working on a bucket for potato flakes. Sugar and rice in jares and jugs.
And inventory to be done.😊

I'm glad you mentioned Christmas. I laying in my supplies for making cookies. I make up packages of baked goods and as you would say "bits and bobs" and that's what I give for gifts. Mind you it's much more work than shopping. Spritz, sugar, linzer (with blueberry confiture filling 😋) and my famous amongst friends and family the kitchen sink cookies. That some chocolates a few popcorn balls a couple of party favors and you've got a magnificent gift. That and it's much more affordable. Thanks Ana!

@@AnasFoodLifestyle everything and the kitchen sink (not really but it is a fun name). Walnuts, chocolate chips, toffee bits and pretzels in the mix with some coarse salt sprinkled on top and they are large. I drop 1/4 cup of mix per cookie and that is half the size it calls for. Delicious!

I bought a load of stuff today to back up my pantry!! Getting loads pressure canned from the freezer too. But sugar as there is going to be a world shortage due to climate change.
This has been a very tough year for global sugar. If you look at the top ten producing countries this year, six of them have had extreme weather," Chief Meteorologist at Everstream Analytics, John Davis, told FOX Weather. "And the ramification of that is higher prices for anything that you use sugar for, including candy."
He points to drought in Thailand, the fourth-largest producer, cutting production by almost a quarter. India, the U.S. and Europe suffered flooding, representing the second, sixth and third top producers. Everstream said that extreme weather is expected to decrease the global sugar supply by 10% to 15% over the 2023/24 growing season.

Heslo there! I really enjoy watching your hauls. It gives me ideas what to buy next. But my window for buying extras is getting smaler and smaler. The everyday fond is getting more and more expensive. Times are Hard with all the things in the world. Keep up your prepping and stay healthy and positive!

Nice to have you watching our young Ana as we don't have many UK prepper channels, sadly :( We don't have that prepper mindset.. Well, a few of us do, but most people think I'm nuts when I talk about being a prepper. So as we don't have many UK preppers to watch, I'm totally obsessed with watching the American ones. Yours are amazing. I've learned so much over the past few years from the USA ones x

Yes prepping is a growing interest here, but there's many that think we are hoarders, silent militia, and secret military!🤣 I just try to keep up with food prices, and stay ahead. I live in an area that has hurricanes, so I always try to stay prepared. I have always tried to have a nice storage because of job changes, no money, illnesses, etc. it just makes sense. Lovely to see you here and good wishes for you and your loved ones.
