Just finished on my 2009 Outlander 2.4 mivec. Removed only the bottom portion of hose, and cleaned the throttle body PROPER! I wasn't getting a code but a rough idle, at times, or rev jumping at idle. DO NOT SPRAY CLEANER DIRECTLY ONTO TB!! Spray it on whatever rag or cloth you are using to clean!! After I put it back together, and put the battery terminal back on, I drove it around for a few mins, with AC on. I was very happy with the immediate results. No more rev jumping, and a slight increase in accelerator response. Also my mpg reader went from 190km until next fill up, to 220km, so I was very pleased with that. Thank you for the video, and I hope it helps a lot more Outlander owners from getting ripped off by shady mechanics!!
@@deli_g_ If fluid getting in is the only reason, unless you're spraying an ungodly amount in, it's not gonna do anything as long as you are using proper TB cleaner as it evaporates very quickly.
I cleaned my cars throttle body yesterday and I'm very content with the results. My car would hesitate and shut off on a stop light. Thank you very much for sharing this video.
I just cleaned the throttle body on my 2013 Mit Outlander sport yesterday. It solved the issue of surging idle when at a stop light and slight hesitation during acceleration from a stop sign that is common with these vehicles. I did not have to mess with the air filter box, I just loosen the top and bottom clamps on the air intake hose and tied it out of the way. I could not get the butterfly to open like you showed with ignition on and foot on pedal, maybe mine was too dirty as I could hear an electrical noise like a solenoid and felt some vibration on the butterfly??? But a piece of wood worked fine to keep it open. I used brake clean and some oversized Q tips and rag. And my electric toothbrush with an old worn out brush was the ticket to get the hard built up deposits near the hinge of the butterfly, lol. I always apply a thin layer of silicon grease on any hose I remove so they come of easy next time!
Where is the IAC valve located on this car? I am dealing with a 2013 Lancer 2.4L with a rough idle problem and I wanted to check the IAC while I am cleaning out the throttle body this weekend.
My 2009 Lancer is burning oil and black smoke upon start up however when driving it is not smoking. Took it for diagnosis at Mitsubishi and was told that they will have to open the engine in order to know why it is burning oil but the estimated labour cost to just strip to check was close to 8000 south African rands. Any recommendations on what to do in this situation or what will be the possible causes ?
Hey. I have mitsubishi asx from 2017 1.6 117ps. Under the engine cover I noticed that it is dirty with oil from right and left side. It is at the intake manifold connection. Do you know if this is serious? Does the gasket need to be replaced? Thanks
I pressed gas pedal ignition on. Then started motor and drive. Warm motor idle was 1500 rpm... not fun to drive. Stopped and 2h winter time cool engine and ignition 20-30 sec then off and when i started car everything was fine.
No throttle relearn but it's still gonna idle funny since MAF was removed for a bit of time. Ide and throttle relearn is automatic in the lancer, just let it idle a bit the ac on and then drive it around. Should be done a about a day until a week. Tried it.
Are you say take the terminal of the battery every week and drive around with aircon on , you sound like a cheap mechanic this wont fix anything the problem is the whole egr system needs cleaning and/or replacing. This is by default on these engines at around 80 000 miles
@@fishfacecrabnot sure if you're crazy or dont understand what i said. What i said is there is no throttle relearn procedure that you need to do after cleaning the throttle body. All you need AFTER CLEANING the throttle body is to leave it in idle for a few mins with the AC for the ECU to do the throttle relearn.
I did this in my lancer. After doing this when the vehicle is in Park and when i press the brake and release the rpm raises and goes to stable with AC on. I am not sure whats wrong...

What's the reasoning about not spraying the TB? Every mechanic I've seen sprays the hell out of it then follows with a rag just like this.
@@keifuchan7265 it's for air travel, not fluid travel.

If you took battery terminal off , how did you move the butterfly?

Great job!
Nice work, but how do you reset throttle body afterwards ?
Ignition turned on count 30 sec (don't start motor) then turn off. Now U can start and let motor idle so its warm.

It shouldn’t have to relearn the position. Thats why he turned the key on and pressed the peddle to move the throttle without touching by hand.
Did you have someone pressing the gas while you sprayed and cleaned?
Yes sir.
Great job
Will the old carbon build up go into the engine since you didn’t take off the throttle body? Or is this completely okay to do?
Video helped out a lot
Is the process the same on Mitsubishi Galant 2010?
Just curious, what kind of code were you getting? He 0021.?
Hi my one starts fine but when I give it trottel it cuts out would the be the trottel sensers

You probably have bad valve guide seals if it's only smoking on start up. It's still a lot of money either way.
Have you tried checking wheater your catalytic converter is clean or stuck... if its full of carbon then the carbon might enter your engine...
Just sell your car to me
can i do this on my grandis 2004? what about the spray going in there?
just the same. but it's better to remove the throttle body and then clean it
4B10 -1.8?
Mine doesnt stay open when pressing the gas pedal. it closes in 2 seconds. any chance to keep it open?? thanks
Place something heavier on the yu accelerator pedal and your good 👍 to go...mine behaved same way so i had to devise ways

Think that can be dangerous to spray down throttle body. Spraying on towel is safer. Fumes could accumulate in plenum. Seen it happen, dangerous.

do you still need to relearn the idle? thanks bro

Have a service engine light on throwing code p0113 p0102
P0137 vehicle also having issues with rpm and hesitation when driving
After doing this any suggestions
Anybody has the same problem with me?after turn on the ignition with no co intake plug in, it throws me an engine light on the dash board 🥲
You should make a video on how not to clean your engine bay 😂
Lepas cuci rpm ada naik tinggi biarkan saja ke boss?
Rpm naik tu biasa, biarkan/ drive sikit nanti akan elok biasanya
Bleh try reset manual
