The sirens at 0:39 from the meetup were not Sentry F-2s, those were Federal Model D sirens. Those sirens are similar to the Model Ls except they have a curved horn instead of having just cylindrical horn. I hope this helps!
I’ve been meaning to go check them out for a while now. Glad to see you got to check them out. If I recall, these are for a pipeline or something under the park. Great video as always!
The ones you saw before in that video weren't Sentry F2's, they were federal signal model A's or L's (not quite sure) Sentry F2's are smaller and the horns aren't as wide
Hmm, I tried to do a bunch of research prior to the trip and thought I was certain they were Sentries. If you watch my videos you'll see I am sometimes wrong and open to admitting it. Thank you for the information!
@@dwaltjj The ones in the park are Sentries but the ones you also mentioned are Federal Sirens. There's lots to learn about sirens. A siren that's quite interesting is the YAMAHA music sirens. They're basically a bunch of small sirens in a box that open and close their shutters to create music. There are lots of videos of them and it deserves a watch, they're really cool
Thanks man! Glad you watched. Hope all is going well in your world. Let me kmow anytime you need an AC, I may not know the language but I'd love to work with you again!
In Beverly Hills, a few days ago they had a demo for a Modulator. They apparently are going to be creating a new siren system around Beverly Hills and I wonder if they will expand it to different parts of L.A too 😁
Yeah, I saw Edaan and Duderocks video on that one. I heard they were planning on installing sirens in Malibu and Santa Monica, but was not aware of anything in Beverly Hills. Curious to see how it all plays out.
awesome video i think the sirens might be used as a soccer half time siren for the matches .i used to Live near a football oval where they used a air raid siren as a half time siren
You use sirens for the half time ? That's unusual, usually to signal half time in football/soccer the referee blows 2 or 3 long whistle blasts (usually they do 2 for half time, and 3 for the end)
The Sentry F-2 sirens are from the 90s or early 2000s, so I doubt they'd be part of the civil defense system. Which they aren't, but I just wanted to let you know. Great video, keep it up!
0:39 no, these are federal signal model d sirens, so yea.

Are they trying to hide the sirens? And why there are other speakers

I was told that most of the sirens in Los Angeles are wired and used for earthquake warnings and other things
Most are actually disconnected. I think there's a few that still work though, first one that comes to mind is on Catalina Island.
@@DayTrippingAdventurer And there is a Thunderbolt in Hawthorne that the firefighters can let you manually activate
Great video !
