Agnes Moorehead also starred in the Twilight Zone in one of their more famous episodes called "The Invaders" where a old woman defends cabin from tiny alien invaders. It turns out she's a giant and the tiny aliens are humans. The show closes with a shot of the UFO, now crushed because of the old woman. It has a American flag on it. P.S.You left out Mr and Mrs Kravitz their neighbors. Gladis was always seeing Sam do magic and always freaked out. The actress that originally played her was replaced for some reason.
I watched them all while growing up. The 1st Darrin Dick York of course was the best. I have no favourite episode cause they were all great, no like today’s crap on TV.
Agree. The Kravitzes, Dr. Bombay, Maurice, Aunt Clara, Esmerelda, little Adam, Darrin’s parents. Even Bernie Kopell (Doc from Love Boat) had a small recurring role, I think it was as a witch pharmacist?

Larry Tate's wife also appeared a number of times. Many years ago, I was looking through a girlie magazine, and there was a photo of two naked women with their arms around each other and their faces blurred. The caption said one was a cocktail waitress and the other a well known hollywood actress. The intimation was that the second woman was Elizabeth Montgomery.
Peter Piper I’ve heard and read a ton of celebrity gossip over the years and I swear I’ve never heard Elizabeth Montgomery could be gay/bi. That’s a new one on me. I’ll have to research that one. Unless she was just losing, like Betty Paige supposedly did. 🤔
I own the complete Series on DVD. Favorite Actor was Dick York who played for 5 Seasons. But Dick Sergeant who played for 3 years was awesome as well. Love the nostalgia. Great video.

Dick York was my favorite Darrin Stevens and Elizabeth Montgomery was my favorite actress during that period and it was a sad day when she passed away.
I had always heard Dick York left the show because his back pain became so saver he just couldn't continue. That's really sad it was because of his pain meds. And I didn't know that the whole cast except Erin died before they were 75. I hope she lives longer then the others did.
I just watched an interview with Erin who played Tabitha. She said his back pain was so severe,he would lean against a board between takes. One day he had a seizure, and she never saw him again.
Yes I remember it. I watched it just because I was a fan of Bewitched but it was so bad and Lisa Hartman was the wrong casting choice. Not sure why they didn't just get Erin Murphy to reprise the role as fans would've loved or have seen her play that and the show may have been a success. Seems like any redos of any of those shows never worked.
You failed to mention Elizabeth Montgomery and Agnes Moorhead were also in The Twilight Zone. And Agnes’ performance there was just outstanding. She nailed that episode perfectly.
The Darren Stevens I prefer is the first one, of course. Why didn't you include Aunt Clara? She was a cute little fumble-bumble who was as great as she was frustrating.
One thing about the show is Dick Sergent didn't really fit in as a replacement for Dick York as Darin.Agnes Moorehead explained it perfectly on the first day of shooting i believe she said this to Sergent.. "Don't mess with perfection"
I always though that Sargent was not comfortable in his own skin, or his clothes for that matter. Just watch the way he walks or runs, it's not a natural movement for him. His acting was pretty stiff, too.
Missed Marion Lorne as the adorable Aunt Clara! I always loved the crisp, clear diction that Elizabeth Montgomery had both as an actress and in her personal life. A really great unscripted slice of humor came while guesting on Hollywood Squares right around when the Lizzie Borden movie was coming out. Peter Marshall called on her saying "Elizabeth... Liz... Lizzie Borden! Did you really give your father forty whacks?!" She chuckled and replied "I dunno! I didn't count...!"
As a kid I love the episode where Samantha Elizabeth Montgomery dressed as her cousin Serena and she said that song about the hippies got to have long hair And be grubby if you want to spend time with her. I hope it didn’t influence my life.
Elizabeth Montgomery was SO pretty, as a boy, I never got tired of looking at her! I especially liked when she portrayed her brunette cousin which I thought was her twin sister Serena. Both Darrins on the show were a good fit to me, no problem, in general, I liked all of the cast & Paul Lynde was a funny unforgettable character...
@Nat from Straya, Serena was Samantha's look-alike cousin on her father's side. During the entire 8 season run of Bewitched, there was never any mention of Samantha having any brothers or sisters. Then, all of the sudden when the Tabitha series was made a few years later Tabitha had an "Aunt Minerva", a witch who would have had to have been Samantha's sister.
Definitely Dick York. From what I remember, Dick Sargent always seemed a bit .... mean. Always a bit angry. Dick York's Darrin seemed to truly be in love with Samantha, and she with him. Dick Sargent's Darrin seemed to be barely putting up with her.
Actually Dick York is said to have been REALLY in love with Liz, but she, on the other hand, couldn't stand him. She was happy when Dick Sargent replaced him, not only because they were close friends, but also because Sargent was gay and thus not attracted to her. Agnes Moorehead did not approve the change, as she was good friends with Dick York.
Paul Lynde was always my favorite guest star and Darren#1 was my favorite Darren. I binge watched Mad Men last year and the office scenes on Bewitched remind me of Mad Men the whole advertising agency vibe.
Dr Bombay calling Dr Bombay...And Maurice her father his intro's were always memorable and adorable aunt agatha and her bad memory and doorknob collection...and mrs crabbitz with poor abner...and lastly elizabeth playing her mischievous twin sister with the end credits showing another name to confuse everybody...my all time fave growing up samantha was absolutely gorgeous and cute in every scene..Derwood did not deserve her imo...i still hear her classic line "welllllll"

Dick York! I was too young to watch it when it was fresh and new but we still watch it on reruns today as a matter of fact we purchased the whole show every season and we watch it every night together before bed but my favorite character other than Samantha had to be Uncle Arthur
The last role Bernard Fox (aka.Dr. Bombay) was in I recall was TITANIC in 1997 playing a real life passenger Colonel Gracie. I thought he looked pretty good.
BW was a great show Elizabeth Montgomery was a beautiful woman and l loved her as Serena. man, she was even hotter. As for Darren Its Dick York ,his physical comedy was op Everybody on that show was funny lots of Memorable characters. I even remember watching Tabitha spin off ,too bad it canceled after 1 season. And what were theh thinking about when they made that remake with Wil Ferrell ,horrible i just didn't get it 😕. Imo they should have cast Christina Applegate to play Samantha instead of Nicole Kidman, and anybody but Wil Ferrell to play Darrin. Wil Smith would have been my choice .
What I remember is how Samantha would gently express her disappointment in Darren's behavior instead of flying into rages or blasting him to smithereens (which he so often deserved). My childhood was very volatile and traumatic...she showed that one could fight without devolving into screaming or violence.
I liked the original Darrin played by Dick York. I never really liked the show as much when Dick Sargent came on. He was more serious without the goofiness and funny expressions the first Darrin had. That's how I remember the show a long, long time ago.
My favorite part first of all thank you for doing this video great job/// remember at the age of maybe age of 10 and here I am 50 years old still watching the year for you bewitch/// thank you cozy TV// AKA NBC Channel/// back then ABC on was on the channel in the 70s and the 80s/// Darren it was doing one of my favorites or Dare wood/// also one person you forgot Samantha's father whatever happened to him//// my best part of the wedge when Samantha plays two characters herself and her crazy cousin Trina/// keep up the good work stay safe and don't forget to take your vaccine 2020 and let's get the restaurants and businesses open 100% sorry but I didn't go back to work and get the concerts I miss my concerts and Disney World take care of everyone
Aunt Clara (Marion Lorne) should have been included, she was absolutely hilarious (and she did have a doorknob collection in real life). The show was never the same after Dick York left, he had such great chemistry with Elizabeth and Agnes Moorehead. Incredibly funny, he had great facial expressions, comedic timing, and acting chops. Darren #2 (Sergeant) never made me laugh and was one dimensional in my opinion. And of course, Elizabeth Montgomery was the most beautiful and talented actress on television (forget about a remake, no one could ever take her place).
Well, i undoubtedly prefer the first Darren. He had a more colorful personality. Elizabeth Montgomery always made me feel good just looking at her. I couldn't help from having a crush on her. I'll always keep them in my heart.
I know a lot of people who didn't even realize that there were 2 different people playing Darren, I think that both of them being named Dick didn't help with the matter but I won multiple bets from people who didn't believe me.
Got to prefer the first Darwin, although I think Dick Sargent had a tough job to follow Dick York. If only the writers had incorporated the change into the narrative, it might have encouraged viewers to accept the transition. I loved all the characters, especially Uncle Arthur and the first Gladys Kravitz (“Ab-nerrrrrrrr!!!”) but also Dr Bombay too. A fabulous show. Looking at the box set on my shelves right now. 😊👍
I was too young to notice the changes of Darin. All I know is that I enjoyed to the max. Elizabeth Montgomery passed away at age 62, I recently turned 62. They were too young to die, now medicine has evolved tremendously. I enjoyed the clips.🥰
Loved this show. I used to walk home from school at lunchtime, eat lunch, watch Bewitched and walk back to school for the 2nd half of the day. Such a great childhood memory.
My favorite Darren was Dick York, You could actually, kinda read what he was gonna say and do by his actions.. I always believed, his character, didn't really dislike his wife's magic, he always seemed to be jealous to me, as if he wished it was him who had the magic...
Television comedy was great in those days. They were all filmed, like Dream of Jeannie, Hogan's Heroes, Get Smart; and Leave it to Beaver, Donna Reed, and Life of Riley even earlier. Then Norman Lear messed them up by 'filming them in front of a live audience' and thereby turning them into plays, and plays favor a different, more obvious acting style than movies. "Sitcoms" have never been the same ever since. So happy I grew up during that earlier era with comedies like Bewitched.
I loved the character "Aunt Clara" the loving, clumsy, old lady, who always was obsessed with the doorknobs, and the only member of this family of witches, who really felt simpathy for Darrin. played by the British actress, Marion Lorne.
Dick Wilson, The guy who always played the drunk in the show, is best rememberd as Mr Whipple, in the Charmin toilet paper television commercials, with the phrase, " Mr Whipple don,t squeeze the Charmin,
Elizabeth Montgomery a natural beauty and actress. The scene you showed as her movie "A Case of Rape" was from her later movie "Act of Violence." Both were excellent movies, but "A Case of Rape" received the highest rating of any TV movie in history at the time it aired in 1974. I have many favorite "Bewitched " episodes because of Elizabeth Montgomery's charm and beauty. Also the excellent cast and fun fantasy mixed with real life situations.
I love Bewitched. I have all the seasons and watch on TV also. I like both Dick York and Dick Sargent. But, York was my favorite. I do not like Uncle Author at all. It is a fun show to watch.📺
Dick York was the best Darren. And not for the reasons You brought up. I thought he played a sweeter, more loving husband than the more acerbic Sargent. He just had a quality about him that made him seem nicer and more gentle than Sargent. Yeah he showed a temper, but then ANYONE would once they've been turned into a (name animal or inanimate object here).
I loved also the character "Esmeralda" the shy, nanny or maid of the family, who always vanished when Darrin was mad at her, her powers were a little clumsy too, as "Aunt Clara,s" Performed by Alice Ghostley.
Another thought. I didn't not see any mention of Gladys and Abner either. They were two actresses who played Gladys and all deserve a mention.perhaps you should consider doing part two to over all of the characters left out in the original. Also worth mentioning that Elizabeth Montgomery also played Serena.
There are many excellent episodes from this series. I particularly like the ones that feature Aunt Clara. These include "A Gazebo Never Forgets", "The Trial and Error of Aunt Clara", "There's No Witch Like and Old Witch", "The Short Happy Circuit of Aunt Clara" and "Witches and Warlocks Are My Favorite Things". As for which Darrin, I'll take Dick York.
What do you remember about Bewitched? 🤔
Cousin Serena was the best!!!!!!!!!!
I liked both Darren's. 🤠
That it ended. It was a part of my childhood.

The Jack & the Beanstalk episode, my heart melted at her cuteness. She was an adorable little costar.

I liked it when Tabitha was older.
It is too bad Bewitched could last for the two more seasons it was renewed.

Dick York still had those big brown eyes as an older man, great actor
He was the best Darrin.
There is a statue of Elizabeth Montgomery/ Samantha Stevens in Salem, Massachusetts.

I always thought that Dick Sargent came of as even more angry.
He was darker when he got angry, unlike Dick York who was much more comical.
Hello, How are you doing?
I did too. I didn't like his portrayal at all.
Anytime that Samantha's identical cousin showed up and of course, Uncle Arthur. MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE though was Endora! LOVED HER COMPLETELY!

There are several good episodes of Bewitched but I will only mention a few of them.
There's one in which Uncle Arthur who wanted to give to his great niece, Tabitha, a stuffed bunny and in return got a cocktail bunny.
Also, with him, he turned Darren's hands in boxing gloves.
Another one is about Maurice, Samantha's father. Boy if he was pissed off you can see how he breaks lamps, ashtrays and other objects too.
Samantha's cousin, Sabrina, who was played by Elizabeth Montgomery, had the "hots" for Darren and she in several times caused problems but there were episodes in which she was helpful to Samantha.

But she wasn't one of the main character
@@bloodymary3008 Correction: She wasn't a frequent character. She absolutely stole every episode she was in, though.
I remember watching the show when I was just a little kid and how much I love it 😀 💖
Well, i undoubtedly prefer the first Darren.
There were two Louise Tates, too, who, by the way, was not even mentioned in this video.
I liked dick York the best, the best episode I enjoyed was the day Samantha found out Tabitha was a witch
Dick York as Darren #1 was my favorite of the 2.
I’m one of the few who preferred Dick Sargent. I liked his calmer take on the role. I thought York’s over the top reactions grew tired after awhile.
Finally, a voice of sanity!
i agree with you, Dick Sargent was perfect as Darrin.
nutz4all thank you! Well, Sargent was the initial first choice for the role so it makes sense he would be the better fit.
MICHAEL GLASS thank you! I was beginning to think I was the only one with that opinion! 👍
I liked Dick York better than Dick Sargent. Dick was classic. He was so funny. Do not care for Dick Sargent. Too grumpy.
Hello Linda, How are you doing?
I preferred the first Darrin, his character was warmer and was more in tune with Samanatha
Cancer is cancer and people are still dying from it. Cause of the second most deaths in the US.
R.I.P. to those we lost.
always liked liz montgomery. really hot woman.
Loved watching it as a child..still do..love it.
All I gotta say is looking and Erin now and Elizabeth when she was younger, that Tabitha casting was genius!
Everyone carried a scotch on the rocks in their hands on this show
*Born in 1957 all of Bewitched shows but my favorite Darren was Dick York!* 👍🏻
1958
I love Bewitched. I have all the seasons and watch on TV also. I like both Dick York and Dick Sargent. But, York was my favorite. I do not like Uncle Author at all. It is a fun show to watch.📺
I had a big crush on Samantha. She was a looker.
Agnes Moorehead most beautiful woman on film and tv . Ever.
Bernard Fox (Dr Bombay) was Col. Archibald Gracie in 1997's Titanic
The episodes with Aunt Clara and Uncle Arthur and Serena were my favorites. (Jan Griffiths).
Dick York stole the show, I never liked the other guy, I was only a kid, but I thought he was mean.
