I always thought that the Adams family were always very dark while the Munsters were always very normal Americans but neither knew they were different. My favorite was Gomez could not keep his hands off of Mrs Adams.
Uncle Fester made many ,many good Western films. He was a great Cowboy. Lerch played many Westerns as well. He appeared many times on Bonanza and Gun Smoke.
My favorite was cousin It, I loved his upbeat, attitude and breezy optimism. I used to comb my long hair over my face and put my glasses on over it. My friends called me cousin It as a nickname. But I also liked Lurch. It always struck me funny the way he'd shake his head and moan when someone did something stupid.

Was I the only kid back in the day who thought The Addams were the family to be??? Parents weren't constantly fighting, the Dad never 'got his belt' & naughty behavior from the kids was tolerated (if not condoned!). If it wasn't for their weird diet, would have been ideal!
Yes, Spot was the Munsters Dragon who lived under the stairs...The Addams Family's dragon lived in their basement...I forget its' name, but it wasn't it their mansion's furnace and water heating system? It's been a few years! /;p

I always thought that the Adams family were always very dark while the Munsters were always very normal Americans but neither knew they were different. My favorite was Gomez could not keep his hands off of Mrs Adams.
Morticia and Gomez were probably the only couple on TV at that time where you got the impression that they actually had sex.
I liked The Munsters better, until I got a little older and started "getting" more of the Aadams Family humor.
R.I.P Carolyn Johnson, Jackie Coogan, Marie Blake, Ted Cassidy and Ken Weatherwax.
That's practically half of the cast.
Uncle Fester made many ,many good Western films. He was a great Cowboy. Lerch played many Westerns as well. He appeared many times on Bonanza and Gun Smoke.
I loved the episode where a doctor came to visit Cousin It and before long he was actually able to carry on a coversation with Cousin It.
Hello Julie, How are you doing?
@@liamroberts9047 fine thanks, and you?
@@juliebaker6969 I'm well thanks, where are you from?

Thank you Do you Remember. Good ol days. Didn't realize these actors were in so many other shows. Really nice work I enjoyed it.
Awe that’s so sweet John Astin and Carolyn Jones were attracted to each other aweeee that makes my heart melt
If thats really you In the thumb nail you are gorgeous
My sister and fiancée are more Munsters fans, but I am the torch bearer for The Addams Family. I love that Pluto TV has a channel dedicated to the show
Cool! Good to know!
Was I the only kid back in the day who thought The Addams were the family to be??? Parents weren't constantly fighting, the Dad never 'got his belt' & naughty behavior from the kids was tolerated (if not condoned!). If it wasn't for their weird diet, would have been ideal!
Plus endless fun with Fester and the pet dragon 'Spot'.
@@carlsaganlives5112 Wasn't Spot the Munster's pet dragon who lived under the stairs?
Yes, Spot was the Munsters Dragon who lived under the stairs...The Addams Family's dragon lived in their basement...I forget its' name, but it wasn't it their mansion's furnace and water heating system? It's been a few years! /;p
@@johnnygnoneeded Thanks for the reply! Have a great day! :-)
I AGREE 100%
Excellent! I love the Adams family from a young time to this day, I do not miss the opportunity to see such majestic actors, especially Carolin that God has her in her glory I love you Carolin☯️👍
I like the episode when Morticia & Gomez reminisce about their first meeting & falling in love when they were young.
When Morticia used to play the harp! She sounded like Yoko Ono when she sang!
You're right, I hadn't thought about that before.
Yoko ono always sounded like a screeching cat.
When Morticia's Blonde sister sang, didn't she sing in three part harmony? I know she sang with multiple simultaneous voices.
I thought Mortician played the Japanese guitar called a “shamisen”? And she chanted, “Ha-ruuuu!”
My favorite episode was when Morticia and Wednesday tried to teach Lurch to dance.
Best episode, hilarious
There actually was a popular dance that went around called "The LURCH". It was highlighted on shows such as American Bandstand and Hulabaloo.
Lurch and Fester were my favorite characters. And best episode was were two Soviet diplomats came to visit an typical average american family 🤣
Oops! LOL
The prettiest girl in 6th grade had hair all the way down her back, and she'd brush it forward and pretend to be Cousin It!
Great mini bio of the cast. You forgot to mention Lerch's mother played by Ellen Corby aka grandma from The Waltons. Thank you for making this.
Such wonderful childhood memories. They were all soo good, I really can’t choose any of them. Very difficult.
Ted Cassidy was also in the movie BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID.
"Guns or knives Butch!"
"I don't want to fight you Harvey!"
"GUNS OR KNIVES!!"
"First lets go over the rules"
"Rules??... In a knife fight there are no rules"
Kicks Harvey in the balls
"No rules, then somebody count 1 2 3...go."
One of my favorite movies.
I don't wanna shoot with you, Harvey.
Having grown up in the 90’s with the cartoons of The Adams Family and having seen the films which are probably more recent, my favourite character is Uncle Fester
Lurch is my favorite, the butlers ball and the one where his mom comes to visit are the best.
Lurch and his dancing is my favorite
This was one of the most Eye-Opening videos I've ever seen! So many, little known facts & easter eggs for each actor literally BLEW MY MIND!!!🤯 Thanks so much for posting this video.
Favorites; all of them.
I liked the episode when Lurch became famous. He was my favorite character.
"You rang?" Lurch and Wednesday were my favorites.
It's on you tube. Lurch had song & dance craze called The Lurch back in early 60s.
@@Houndini That's one of my favorite episodes. Wednesday teaches Lurch how to dance.
@@pauljoyner4338
Search it. It Surprise myself not on Addams Family TV show. He had go go dancers & all. Appear off a music TV show. Had record & all. Dance craze was called The Lurch.
Shindig was Tv music show he was on. He grow up at Philippi WV. Maybe 45 mins from girlfriends house right now why I know so much. Her family remember him good. He was like 10 or 11 years old was already a freshman in high school playing football & basketball on teams. Smart. Big boy too. No joke. Really amazing guy. Not just a big guy. Nice guy too her uncle killed in nam they said know him pretty well they ran around little together.
Since they were all great, I will concentrate on my favorite special guest which would be Allyn Joslyn playing Sam Hilliard...the “Hiilliard Trilogy” make for some of the best viewing.
6:05 What an actor he died 69 years old and his acting carrier span eight decades. That's some dedication!
It could happen... 4 years in this decade then 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, and 5 years in the last decade. Eight different decades!? 🤔 maybe? 🤷♀️
@@cindyknudson2715 Yep. Right now a 42 year old person has been a part of 6 decades.
It would have been fun seeing The Addams Family and The Munsters together, scaring together, laughing together!
Sadly, with most of both casts gone, that can't happen.
I made a mistake concerning Assignment Earth that I would like to correct; I gave the names of the two failed Roddenberry pilots made into made for TV movies as Cyborg, and Earth II. They were respectively: The Questor Tapes, with Robert Foxworth, and Mike Farrell; and Genesis II. These movies were shown a long time ago, and my memory failed me. Sorry.
Kind of sad that so many of them are gone now... Awesome series with a lot of great personalities. Morticia and Gomez had the best relationship :)
What's bizarre is that John Aston is still alive, but the actor reviving the Gomez role for the 90s movies died so young. He outlived the patriarchs of all the Adam's Family type things, including The Munsters.
It's how life goes. What is sad is when people die at young, or relatively young ages.
Met Felix at a comicon. Loved him. We spoke about our hobbies an lives. Bought him lunch also. So happy he is enjoying life
My hubby likes Wednesday, her creepy but simple style has been an inspiration for many artworks of his, and I like Morticia, she too has a simple style but it’s so iconic, great show.
John Astin you did an impeccable job ...you are the show ❤️ God bless you!
Cousin Itt was my favorite. I loved the episode that showed Lurch conversing in Cousin Itt’s language. Lurch speaking that dialect was hilarious and was another perfect non sequitor of the Addams family.
I watch Addams Family every day.
I wish there had been a movie called The Addams Family Meet The Munsters that would have been a weird movie
Or having them appear on Family Feud.
@@kenkemzura903 They would have found the set to be way too depressingly cheery.
the munsters would have beat them in a drag race...
the man that built ther car is a legend!!
That sounds amazing...haha!
Gomez, crashing his trains
My Fav...
I always wondered if his crashing the trains increased Lionel sales. If you watch carefully you can tell it's the same crash shown over and over.
Didn't he blow them up??
@@tats5880 Yes......They blew up colliding......
With a nice explosion for effect! 👍😁🌿
It's a bit depressing to find that characters you saw on TV as a child, still see off and on died twenty or more years ago.
Shame that some of them died so young (Morticia, Pugsley & Lurch).
So true. It's saddening. Then again the Addams Family is a tribute to each of them to for live in our hearts for eternity. Peace Truth and Love to them all
@@dyanvandino5416 And the boy from the first Mary Poppins film.
@@dyanvandino5416 Yes,, you want the people who make your life pleasant to also have long, happy lives.
Loved John Astin as Harry’s dad on Night Court. The line “But I’m much better now” always cracks me up
When Vic Mizzi was asked to make the theme for the "Addams Family" ABC Network was so damn cheap he had to play all the instruments and do all the recordings himself
It was totally worth it! That theme song is so iconic! (🎶 da da da da snap snap🎶)!!!
Loved to watch this show in reruns when I got home from school in the 80's .
I loved Lurch and the episode where his mother (mama) visited is my favorite by far. Though the entire series was a blast to watch. I can’t understand how it only lasted a couple of seasons.
I can't be it was only 2 years. It seamed like it defined most of my childhood. I watched the reruns religiously. Oddly, watching it 10 years after it went off (and beyond), it never seemed like an old show.
