I am an enormous Sublime fan, but the band waited for years before playing music again. They gave their respects to Bradley but life has to continue. The name "Sublime with Rome" is incredibly respectful and represents exactly what this band is.
Wtf do you mean they waited years? They waited years to take on Rome... they most definitely played and released music months after Bradley's imminent demise.
If it was respectful, it was forced respect. Bradley Nowell had the sole rights to Sublime when he passed away. When they did decide to start back playing again, they wanted to use the name Sublime but couldn't, due to a lost court battle with Bradley Nowell's estate, thus adding the "with Rome" part. But I totally appreciate your sentiment. =)

I bet it's tough to jump into a band that had been apart for years. I bet it's even more difficult to read some negative comments about you as the lead singer. 2021, still here. I have to say, as an ohio boy I still grew up with sublime in the early nineties.. The original sublime. But man, sublime with rome still make some great jams. Hope 2021 is good for everyone

Bro - this is totally original. Sure, has some Sublime ska/punk feel to it but I could also totally hear Bruno Mars singing this. Not sure how people can hate on this. They are not clinging to the past or dishonoring Bradley. This is something totally new. And totally rad.
totally agree. I don't understand the hate they get from people, yes it's not the OG Sublime, but the new songs are excellent! Rome brings a lot to the table, the new songs have some strong hooky, pop foundations. Not the OG Sublime, but still great artists who make great music.

The beauty of music/musicians is they're never the same. I'm going to see this version of sublime this Saturday and I'm stoked about it. It took me a long time to come to the realization there was no one better then Rome to take up this mantle. He loves sublime as much as the next person and he really cares about the image and sound they produce. If you don't believe me watch the acoustic badfish interview with the radio station. You'll see what I mean
I was almost front row on there first big show at smoke out 2009 not many people were sure about this new guy but as the show started I looked behind me to see more than 80 thousand people packed to the rim singing the song that impacted a lot of us local southern Californians heavily. No it was not Bradley and it will never be Bradley but I can tell you something magical and special was in the air at that show and it created a lot of closure for true fans that needed to feel Eric's bass lines buds drum riffs and feel sublime as a live band not just a CD or digital download. Sublime with time may have sold out but they brought back a feeling some of us really needed . No I do not follow or am into the new music but rome is an amazing frontman to stand with such an iconic band and not replace but rejuvenate that ok sublime stylie

i just saw Sublime with Rome last week at Blossom in Ohio. i was skeptical because i've never heard Rome before, and i was there to see Sublime, they only played the OG sublime songs, but Rome was a REALLY cool guy. it was a super fun show. and now that im coming to listen to all of the Sublime with Rome songs, i really wish they had played a couple of his songs. such as this one, been playing on repeat for a while.

2021...I love the music, Rome has a smooth voice. Went to the concert in 2019 at RedRocks, and it was amazing! Most enjoyable concert I’ve been to. I knocked “sublime in concert” off my bucket list. Rome is amazing!!!!!!! Love love love!!!!

I just saw sublime with Rome, what a great concert. Rome messed up on some of the classics of Sublime, but he was drunk . Brad was inspiration to so many bands, who try to follow him by rapping to reggae and ska. Wish I could of seen Brad before he died.

I was so against sublime getting a new singer. I loved long beach dub allstars and felt it was a nice continuation of the band and they made amazing music. So when they announced they were starting sublime again i was angry because no one could replace brad in my mind. Then i saw it was sublime with rome not just sublime which made it a little easier for me but i still wouldnt listen to any of it. Till one day a friend of me who knew how big of a sublime fan i am asked me if i had listened to the new album and i said no because its not sublime, she said you right its not it subline with rome and played a song for me. I am so glad she did. Your music is awesome hits home for me. It may not be bradley but its still amazing music. Thank you guys for keeping up all the hard work after your loss i am so glad to still have your music in my life.
Now I don’t like my old best friend in this way but to me who has never been in a relationship this song reminds me of my toxic ex best friend, every time we had a fight I try to make it up with her but then it happened over and over again so when it happened again I gave up entirely. She if just not the kindest person and I’m a big friend of the world, I don’t hold many grudges unless it’s something really important to to mention how many times she was just down right mean. And honestly this has been the best 3 weeks of the school year.

I think if ANYBODY has a right to judge this Sublime with Rome, it's the ORIGINAL MEMBERS of the band. They like him. Once we get over being jealous that we are not the lead singer of our favorite band, we can start to listen and figure out... we are old! the kids need Sublime as much as we did!

True, that can go many ways. At the same time once anyone heard Brad's voice nothing else after his makes much sense nor does justice for any of the songs he performed first. Nothing beats an original.

I dont think the other band members should have died with 'Brad'. Who's going to hate Pantera if they decide to get a new bassist?
J- ROW Bradley was the creative force in the band. He wrote most of the songs, and that's obvious if you look at the songs Rome has written. Save for a few, they all pretty much sound similar. TBH, there's no reggae in this album at all. It's a totally different band, and it should have a totally different name. They should have just left it all alone and made their own band like they did with the LBDA. I think what's coming up next for Rome is a duet with Justin Bieber. I bet he'd do it if there was a big payday. That's why I feel Rome is a sellout. I'd like him to keep doing his solo work, and let Bud and Eric form their own band with someone else, someone who has the sense to not try and gain fame from a name that would immediately associate him with fame and success. Rome took the easy way out, and now tons of people hate him. If Eric ever leaves, and they still call it Sublime with Rome, it will be even worse. It will be the least authentic band in the USA.
