I always wondered how big the pattern would be when you are farther away... seems like the laser on this unit would be pretty helpful.
For the most accurate reading, it has to be 20 inches away? Can it be pointed say 10 feet away for accuracy as well?
At 20 inches, it is measuring the footprint of about 1 inch. 10 feet would probably be so far away it wouldn't be able to measure.
But how do the controls work? Emissivity? Thresholds?

Why not measure the top of the coffee instead of the glass for temperature check?
I'm not sure how accurate it is to measure liquids with one, maybe someone reading the comments can answer!
