The problem with security companies is that they end up loosing the contract and you’ll end up with no hours
Yeap if they can't keep them contracts they will be out of business real soon lol
Change over to the company who took over the account.
@@juanduenas1943
Did that and regret it it was worse than the previous company
@@Solidsnake999 Than find an other company..
I left for a few weeks at a site and I was given another site when I returned. We lost the contract because no other guard were reliable and showed up
As a former security officer (nearly 30 years of experience), I have worked Unarmed, Armed and Flex. I have found that if you want a decent paycheck on a regular basis, working as much as you possibly can will get you there. In my early days in the business, I wanted "normal" hours but mostly was assigned to 2nd shift (3 PM or 4 PM to 11PM or Midnight) or 3rd Shift (11 PM to 7 AM or Midnight to 8 AM). Flex wasn't a thing initially, but became more of an option later in my career. Note: learning multiple sites, equates to more opportunity to work. Also, letting your coworkers, especially field supervisors, know that you are open to covering other shifts and learning more sites, will likewise open up opportunities for more work, and a better paycheck. I live in Tennessee, eastern end, and most if not all providers of security personnel will start someone at Minimum Wage, or MAYBE a dollar more per hour. Yes, there are sites that pay better, but usually those are more active or difficult duties.
Great, Great, breakdown on the landscape of security & how to increase your chances of making more money! 💰
Hope this helps all that reads this...

A flex officer is where it's at.
@@monklife5885 To borrow a word from the Fonz... Correctamundo! Yeah, it kinda sux too, but if you stay available and restrict your self to 12 hours a day, you can hit your 40 in 4 days. After that it's all gravy. However, if your company has the ability to somehow not have to pay overtime (1.5 times your regular wage) for any time over 40, my recommendation is to make sure EVERY officer working for that company knows about it and then find an attorney to help you get that fixed. And start looking for a new employer. I have discovered this with two companies where the owner was not fully a U S citizen. The first one, I went to the internal accountant and pointed out Federal Law and demanded back pay for several weeks of overtime, it was only a few hours, maybe 10, but it was the principal. He spoke with the owner, who fired me. My attorney got me rehired and punitive damages for retaliation and improper discharge... This was NOT something I recommend because if you go back to work for them they will do everything they can think of to make you quit. When I caught the second employer doing this, I quit without notice. This can cause you distress if you are not prepared. I had a job lined up for thip purpose. When my relief came in, I changed into civilian clothes and handed over everything I was issued. I got my relief yo sign 2 copies of an inventory list one stayed with the kit, and I kept the other. And I left my letter of resignation, effective immediately and that included the reason for resigning. Then I shook hands with my relief and left the post. I got called 2 hours later by the field supervisor who attempted to chew me out. I told him not to call me again, and if he did the call would be recorded as that one was being done.
Don't threaten an employer without carrying through with that threat. There's a LOT more I could say, but the bottom line is, find a company that values your work quality and ethic. Don't compromise your personal values. Good luck to anyone that does this kind of work.
@joseph parker as someone trying to get into security and build my credentials in the Johnson city Elizabethton Tennessee area what would you recommend company wise to start with i dont have a security license all i have as far as being able to show is a Tennessee handgun permit trying to find a good company that offers good training and stuff i have a interview at loomis but from what i see online that probably isnt my best option having trouble finding anything in the area figured youd have a valuable input doing it in this area btw id prefer armed
@legally blind I have a few questions for you. First, have you served in any branch of the military?
Next, how old are you?
Last, do you have any criminal history?
If you want the best training, consider the USMC Military Police, or the Coast Guard in general due to the latter's focus on drug interdiction. Being a cop is good training, too. But it is a very dangerous business. And security work is getting that way. If you have any other question, message me.
Nice video and good info. Appreciate it!
I really appreciate that & thanks for taking time out your day to watch this bruh! 💯
Sometimes smaller local companies pay fairly competitively as well. Here in the Denver area some counties don’t require guard permit cards but frequently pay in excess of 20$ an hour for easy positions like retail or grocery store security.
Oh cool to know this for the ppl the the Denver area. Thanks for sharing! 👍
So true
Good to be a flex officer. It's good to be able to work any and everywhere. Can help you move up the ranks sometimes as well and get you more money.
I get paid 25 standing outside pot shops.. Armed
This is a really good video and a nice breakdown of companies and rates are pay, one thing to realize is it’s all contract based and I like how you broke down armed on arm and flex.
All security guards should always be looking to get certificates and licenses to make more money. Everything is a stepping stone.
Good video.
Good point! The more experience & qualifications you have the higher chance you have to getting paid more.
Thanks for watching Charlie 💪🏾💯
As an armored worker, his info is for the south, they definitely pay more here in NYC. Also being an armored worker isn’t as crazy as you think unless you in crime areas then yea be on high alert and they pay based on CDL and gun license
Yeap the high cost of living areas in the country would pay more & the pay overall should've increased since this vid was made due to inflation.
Thanks for sharing this info 💯
Great content 👌 👏 👍
Apologies for the late reply but thank you for watching Tim!!
Glad to know ppl like you are receiving value from this video. 💯👍🏽

That's great! Hope your security job goes well for you pgjassy! 🤞🏽
Thanks for watching! 👍🏽
thats wild.
As someone who has worked level 3 for years now both as a post guard and for a period hauling money.... Post work is a lot easier and does run less risk in comparison to hauling money but usually post officers make more money hence why traditionally courier companies have a higher turnover rate. Another thing to keep in consideration is the fact that companies like allied Universal and securitas Don't just run traditional posts but also government contracts which can allow you to apply for government clearances that you keep and if you were to ever leave a company but still want to stay in that style of work most security outfits will start you at a higher pay rate the more clearances you have because you can work more than just the traditional posts.
I always thought transporting money paid more than working traditional a post.
This is great information.
Hopefully, this helps people who are trying to find the best paying sectors in security.
Thanks for sharing James. 💯
@@HumanEncoded that is probably one of the most common misconceptions that I hear because to be a courier you have to have a firearm. Now I don't know how Texas runs but in your neighboring states like Arizona and New Mexico we have level one which is strictly unarmed level 2 which gives you a baton, OC spray, handcuffs and then level 3 gives you your chance to test to use a firearm (of course we also have things like rifleman's extensions where if you do another block of instruction you can actually carry an AR platform if the post requires). Most people would think that armed couries make more money because they have to be a level 3, however to put it in perspective here in the state of New Mexico in unarmed level 1 starting for Allied Universal only makes about $1.75 to $2 an hour less than an armed level 3 hauling money for brinks or Loomis. In fact I actually went back to post work as a contractor through a major company and work for the county at their buildings and as a level 3 doing their post work I actually make about three dollars and fifty cents more an hour. So if you ever considered hauling money but then wondered why the companies have such a high turnover rate, that's usually why. Not to mention unlike post-work where your hours are pretty set and then your boss will ask you if you want the extra hours, hauling will have you working until the job is done no matter what so you could be getting done steadily at 10 hours a day or if you were like me and covered a full tri-state area your clocking anywhere between 13 to 16 hours a day and doing it 5 days a week for that pay.
I also believe a lot of what the security jobs pays also depends on what area you are assigned to as well. I recall (hopefully I'm not mistaken) that applying for a security job at like an airport would paid more but in the end, it depends on the company.
I agree... I know for sure that the security company has to negotiate price with each company they get contracts for.
Places like airports may have a larger budget to pay out for security vs a mom & pop corner store (for example).
Thanks for bringing this up Tango. 👍🏽
The economy is different here in greece u get 750€ a month which is barely enough and in nyc its 10/hour for there is barely enough
I live in Wichita falls,Tx. I worked 2 years for Allied Universal at the mall only making 11. Tomorrow I start with Securitas making 16 working at a factory. I'm pretty excited.
That's great to hear Ricky! Hope it all works out well for you. 💯
I recently started working for AT&T Stadium. I’m from Wichita Falls also
Thx!!!!!

19$an hour unarmed sitting my ass off watching cameras 🤣
Sounds like easy money bro! 🤑
So true bro doing the same thing but for 17.28 a hour watching UA-cam and Netflix and eating my food with AC ot 25.92 a hour this is in Tennessee paycheck be 750 to 890 a week
@@videosforall5170 Y'all talking my favorite type of security post right here! Lol 💰😁
@@videosforall5170 what is your position called ?
I just got hired 19/hr too but they have me standing doing patrol outside in 100 degree weather sweating my ass off. HOw did you get that position doing CCTV work? Was it give to you? Can you request it? Will they get mad at me for making requests since im a new hire?
GardaWorld is a direct competitor to Brinks as well. I worked for GardaWorld and Brinks hauling cash. GardaWorld starts folks at $12/hr, you supply your own firearm and no training. Brinks starting wage is $15/hr unless you have, military, security, police or corrections experience. Then you get bumped up $16.25/hr in my case. Brinks also issues you a firearm and trains you with it.
The lowest in quality IMO is Securitas. Worked a site in 08 for $8.25/hr. Worked double shifts, a rude, condescending site sup on a power trip and you had to do roving patrol with your own vehicle. If your vehicle was damaged, that was on you. Found out recently, the site sup and all office personnel were terminated because someone called the integrity line on them eight times. Headquarters "lost confidence in their leadership abilities". Unfortunately, this all happened after I left.
This is a great breakdown! Sounds like Brinks was the best option but that pay is still too low for me to be armed & risking my life carrying cash.
I used to work for Securitas & it wasn't the best paying job.
Thanks for sharing bro 💯
Gardaworld trucks are rolling death traps. Look at all the negligent vehicular homicides their junkers were involved in
I seen GardaWorld trucks and construction security in Texas.
With allied universal based in nyc atleast working in the private section, in the shelters unarmed is varied but it’s minimal 15$ and up depending what site your at
Cool, is $15 per hr considered decent pay in NYC Tommy?
It’s hard for me to say exactly (I usually had jobs that payed a bit above min of really below minimum.) I’d say it really is just the minimal amount jobs can give you, like it’s still not enough but its better than what was.
That’s why you’ll always here these big news stories in nyc that talk about “this job here is paying 16 or 17 dollars an hr” and it’s a big deal in nyc for what is considered low entry jobs. Example Amazon warehouses also [I’d say 15 is seen now as a bit below decent]
@@tommyg4842 thanks for clearing this up. I always thought decent entry level pay in cities like NYC & LA would be closer to $20.
They pay around average $15 here (entry level) in Texas & that's not really enough to live decently even though our cost of living is lower than other big cities & states.
@@HumanEncoded Depends on your jobsite and security officer level (2 or 3). I work for Allied in TX and I make more than $20/hour.
In terms of entry level positions, you want to find a site/client with a clear path for advancement. Larger clients such as BAE and Simon Property group can be a great place to start because of the advancement opportunity. Unfortunately, you don't start making a livable wage until you hit the admin/Account Manager level. I started as a flex officer with G4S in 2017 at $12.75 and am currently an Account Manager for Allied Universal making $28. The key to success is constant advancement and not getting complacent in your current role. Good luck!
Good advice, thanks for sharing Brain! 💯
I seen Ronin Asset Protection in Colorado start at $16 unarmed, then $19 armed, then I think a few months later $20 and raises every 6 months
Thanks for sharing Nick!
Is this considered good living pay in Colorado?
The quick raise is a nice incentive. 👍🏽
I did 20yrs as a Security Guard in Australia, first working in the private sector for about 5yrs and then 15yrs in the Public Sector otherwise known as the Public Service or a "Government Job"
First 5 was low paid static guard work and I also held a Security Firearms Licence so from time to time I did armed guard at high class restaurant while they cashed up for the night as well as deliveries to their pay office in town
The other 15, I worked in a Museum (all major museums in Aus are run by the Public Service, hence the Government job. When I changed jobs from the Private to the Public sector, I got a 10k pay increase and while I was with the Public Sector I obtained my Control Room Operator Licence and worked primarily in the Control Room looking after the cameras and alarm systems. By the time I'd left, I was on around 65K and my last annual wage (with a little bit of OT and a LOT of supervisorial shifts) I'd earnt $100 shy of 80K for that tax year
If you're in Australia, have a Security Licence and there's a job available in the Public Service (getting fewer and fewer as these jobs are usually the first to be privatized), I *HIGHLY* recommend going for it. The conditions and pay can be excellent and they provide for everything like training and uniforms but the big plus is that once you're in the Public Service, you have the opportunity to move into other departments. For instance, I started in Security, but now I have an admin job that has nothing to do with Security
Even though I no longer use it, I still have my Security Licence as it's easier to hold than it is to get
For example, I hold a 1ACE, 2B licence, I got my 1AC licence (basic Security Licence) in 94 before the changes and it was a weekend course which cost about $100. Now it's 10 days and costs $900
I did hold a Security Firearms Licence which was a 2 day course and I had to re-qualify each year but I gave it away as there was no need for it in the job I had. Silly, as I said, easier to keep than it was to get
I also have an E class licence which is the Control Room Licene that you need to work in a control room and I got that as on the job training, It's not easy or cheap to get if you just go for the course but it's basically the only way you can get it now as no Control Room will employ you without it
This is very informative & very helpfully for people who are interested in this line of work.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge & experience Rambalambalambada Man! 💪💯
Awesome
Appreciate that.... thanks for watching Rizzlyricist 💯
@@HumanEncoded Anytime bro. Just finished day 3 of the 40 hour training. The lady sat there and told the class about her dog and husband a little too often 🤣.
Now I know who not to get re-certified by in 2 years. Luckily, I have a school closer to me (but it's more expensive). I only chose her school because it was $100 cheaper. The only takeaway is that she is 1 hour away from me 🤦🏽♂️.

Allied in NJ just posted an ad for Newark NJ Airport security 19$ and hour starting. Usually they start here in NJ at 15-16 $ an hour but this ad was specific Airport at 19 bucks. That's around 40 grand a year, I am going for that one. I already done 2 parts (on line app and video questionnaire) passed those 2, next up is the phone one on one with a recruiter, then that's it. A bus to Newark airport at 40 grand a year. I live with my lady 11 years, Not married, no kids and a relaxing gig, cant beat that.
They must've just got that contract or they need more help due to ppl quiting or them expanding.
That would be decent entry level pay here in Dallas but I thought the cost of living was high on the east coast.
Can ppl live ok off $19 per hr. there?
@@HumanEncoded lol WHAT ?? 40 grand a year. Of course you can. The nations poverty level is a family of 5 making 20 grand a year. In NJ a FAMILY of 3 needs 74 grand a year to live comfortably. That's parents and 3, yes 3 kids. This job pays me 40 grand and I have no kids. Most people even truck drivers need 2 or 3 jobs because of the fact they have many kids. NOT ME OR MY LADY. She makes in the 40's and we rent. Talk about living comfortably. Its all about what you need and pursue. If We had kids who knows .. but I honestly coasted thru life because I never got into the trap of divorces and kids. I'm a single, never married 55 year old guy. I can collect cans and live comfortable. 40 grand for 1 person is middle class in NJ. Also don't listen to morons that complain about prices..gas..etc.. Those same people will spend 2 grand on a shirt or 6 grand on a vacation and complain the gas is a buck more. Minimum wage in NJ is now 13$ and hour going up to 15$ by 2024. In Ohio (red state) its still 7:50$ an hour. Live on that. 15$ an hour, That's 34 grand a year. Not bad for working at 7-11. All in all its what you make of it. Between my lady and I, that will be over 83$ grand a year with no kids, no house to take care of and no baggage (divorces, child support nada) yes. Its very very doable. Thanks for the responce.
@@jeffbebe5085 I see what you saying. I was just curious b/c I've always hear the cost of living was high in the major east coast cities like NYC, etc.

being a former corrections officer, surely helped your hourly rate, rather than someone who never did any type of work like that. Your exp is everything
A little advice for people that want to do armed security and actually make a living if you been in the military, law enforcement, corrections or currently armed security search protective security officer for the department of homeland security or Federal Police Services the main companies are Kerberos, Maxsent and Paragon in your or surrounding area starting pay where i live in south dakota is 20.85 plus a additional 5.50 for health and wellness if you don't get the insurance they offer you also you get pay raises every year and the contract is negotiated between the company and the union every five years so additional raises can be earned.

Bar security on the weekends is fun, doesn’t pay well but it’s fun.
Oh ok, thanks for sharing this 👍🏽
Aus is in Anaheim California where their headquarters is located. Before Aus was big it was know as universal protection services. They took over gardsmarks, then lots of the small security companies all over California. Then they bought out allied Barton now know as allied universal services. Then they bought out G4s is now know as aus/ G4s. This company doesn’t have a main headquarters in the UK as of today. Their headquarters is still in Anaheim, California. The pay is not the same all over the country it depends on what is the coast of living in each state. In California the pay is so different in each cities and counties with in the state. The Bay Area pay is much higher then the rest of the state. If you are lucky to get a job with in San Francisco the pay is much higher for the starting security guards as a basic guard is starting at $19.00 per hour. For GardaWorld they will start most of the security officer at $20 to $21 per hour depending on what site you are working for them. When you have more experience the pay goes up from $22 all the way up to $27 per hour. They all so have the armor cars and it depends on the rate that you agreed upon hiring for the position. They start at $24 and goes up $34 per hour as a armor car driver or a pickup officer. The flex officer doesn’t get paid more with GardaWorld they get paid by what the contract is set for. You need to update your information on aus/G4s. They are the biggest company and they are on the first in the top five security companies. It goes like this in order Aus/G4s, Securitas then GardaWorld.
Cool I didn't know that.... thanks for giving us a more detailed background on these companies & also the pay rates 👍🏽💯
In my area in California armed pays 25 an hour 40 to 80 hours
Cool, thanks for sharing. 👍🏽
Hopefully that's a decent living wage in CA. 🤞🏽😅
$25 an hour here in Cali still poverty. I'm getting my armed guard in a couple of months. I'm in socal.
What about a cushy night shift where one can sleep and get paid, during the day a low key site where one can piggy back a “work from home” job at your site being overemployed and/or take college courses online onsite, and if a mobile patrol officer, side huddling for Uber eats using the company patrol car during downtime?
that's a lot of perks lol
seperately I'm sure some of those posts exist.
Not sure if you can find all of those perks at one post though lol
I worked Allied for 11/hr(unarmed mall), Brinks for started at 14.50 ended at 17(armed carrier), G4S for 20(armed at a powerplant). All in Illinois
$20 sounds like decent pay @ G4S... great breakdown.... thanks bro! 💯

I also worked at US Security Associates & Securitas their average pay for unarmed is around $12 per hr.
I work unarmed and I get paid 15.36
@@airpoison8336 Cool, thanks for sharing this 👍
Securitas is probably the worst security company that exists period. It is like a cult and full of idiots running the show and hiring lazy people and weirdos. DO not work for them!! They also do not let you defend yourself or learn anything like gaining new skills. They want you in their company 100% in their cult and will not let you work anywhere else. Anyone serious about security would not work for them. I also got $15 an hour because I persuaded them to do it and they were desperate. The other guys got $14.25.
I work unarmed patrol officer for allied universal and my starting pay is $18.10 in California (Bay Area)
Got lucky with allied at $16/hour for asian store, now working on being armed for hospital soon 💪
Sounds good... hope it all works out well for you. 💯
I wanted to work for G4S, but it was swallowed up by Allied Universal.
Working for Allied now, starting off unarmed coming from a supervisor role with another company. I make way more with allied unarmed than I did as a supervisor for the other company, a $5 difference. But it’s also site dependent on how much you make. But yeah I want to get my armed license and work higher risk locations in the future. Especially since I was an MP and think my time as an MP, and the discipline and patience I’ve learned is just what any company needs
Yea Allied taking over all the companies it seems. Lol
If you don't mine the possible high risk post & with your Military Police background I would say to go ahead & get that armed license.
Many companies would love to hire a person like you with that type of background. 💯👍🏽
Yeah I had a bad experience with allied back when it was Allied Barton. These days I say Allied universal is universally bad. See AU ( insert your own joke here) is another buyout conglomeration. Originally allied Barton was an amalgam of Pittsburgh Pa based Allied security and they first absorbed Barton Protective Services of Georgia. First they bought out US Security associates of Roswell Ga then in Pittsburgh they bought out Cauley security ( whom I worked for before the buyout) after all that buying out Allied was then bought out by Universal services LLC out of California to become AU. G4S ( who I did work for just prior to the buyout and feeling like the previous firing by ABSS would dog me ). G4S gave a much higher worth to former military members and those former soldiers would help each others first and foremost. Anyone from the civilian side always got the leftovers in days off, shifts etc. G4S was beyond nit picky on several dumb things. 1 one post was standing 8 hours which I can’t do due to back injuries and leg problems from a car accident years prior. ( this was explained prior to my taking the job ) I was sent home when I pulled a chair up to help me deal with my issues. Secondly I was expected to wear a winter hat during august when I misplaced a ball cap ( apparently hats were a requirement there) again was sent home for refusing to sweat my nads off ( the long sleeve black BDU uniform was hot enough when you were not allowed to roll the sleeves up for comfort ). I went to securitas cause I heard about the buyout and with prior bad blood with allied I had a bad feeling. I was with securitas for a good while. Eventually I was trained to work at a high school as one of the gatekeepers so to speak. 4 months later I contracted Covid 19 and was originally thinking it would be just 14 days. I ended up getting full blast Covid. Was off work from March 13th to April 14th, upon my return I was told to work a track and field event in a driving rainstorm ( I refused having just gotten over Covid and the school wasn’t providing a shelter. I explained it to my supervisor who agreed and the school refused to give me my job back. A few months later I resigned on good terms and went back to working at a car dealership. Now for pulling a gun on a road rager who cornered me and the local cops trying to ruin me I ended up on non DUI ARD probation for 24 months ( the longest they can give you ) chances are until I’m off the probation on 11/18/24 I can’t work security anymore
This sounds Great though I am looking more for 2 years of experience guard Jobs Or careers that have have guard experience required
You can find those requirements even from the company's on this list.
Some post may require guards with a little more experience & may pay a little more.
Hope you are able to find what you are looking for Keith. 🤞🏽
I'm a flex been a security officer for a few months now 18 an hour for securitas doing my loss prevention training this Monday starting a new site already work at two others
Cool, hopefully they put you at a post you like & the pay to worth your trouble. 👍
I currently work and have worked for more than a few of the companies on your list as an armed officer and have never made less than $22 an hour in the Boston MA area
Yea, the starting wage listed is just an average across the country.
Since the the cost of living in Boston is more than likely higher than (let's say) Jackson, MS. The pay in Jackson would be lower than the pay in Boston.
Overall the pay will varies based on where you live (as stated in the video).
Thanks for sharing this information Jason. 👍
@Human Encoded very true...I have invested a lot of time and money in training and usually get to work the government and high end contracts that tend to pay more...a lot of people get stuck in the entry level phase and don't realize that there's a lot of room to make more money with certificates and training but you have to take it upon yourself to get after it
@@jasonrebello5630 totally agree... Hope this helps the ppl who will read this to take the extra steps if they are looking for higher wages & possibly a career in this industry.

Little advice, if you're going to compare companies and their salary ranges, you select an area so you're not bouncing around the whole US where ranges are so different.
Can't do areas since there isn't any source online that gives wages for these companies just based on areas.
All I can give is provide you with the information available and state (as I did) that wages may vary is your area based on where you live.
It will then be your job (as viewers) to go deeper & look into those companies yourself if you are interested in working there.
In New York City.....hourly rates are higher......especially for armed positions
That's great Mr. JDIR... can you tell us around how much. This could help some ppl looking to work in your area.
I heard Nuclear power Plant Sites (Davis Besse) around me pay $100,000 year for Armed Guards!
Are these jobs easy to get or…?
Thanks!
I have never heard of those jobs nor the security company so I am not sure. 100k is super great pay tho!! 💰🤑
boutta start my orientation for allied universal on thursday, any advice or tips about the orientation or AU as a whole
Unfortunately I never worked at Allied.
I do have many years of security experience though.
If you never worked security before... orientation is just filling out paper work, watching videos, taking a (should be easy) test to get your license, & get uniform.
Hopefully someone on here has worked @ Allied b4 & can help you with more info. 👍🏽
King Suave...just pay attention and do your job the right way. Know the statutes, remain calm when dealing with the public and show up on time. You'll be all good. (And yes, I work for Allied).

16.50 allied here. Hopefully the contract with the hospital remains and things don’t go down
Hopefully it does & thanks for sharing! 💯
Assuming I'm trying to apply for a unarmed position, is the only requirement a high school degree/equivalent + that test that's given in house?
It is the universal requirement, in most security-related positions, to hold a high school or equivalent. Equivalent meaning a GED. In my experience as a seasoned Private Security Officer, you can obtain an armed certification through the state you reside in by simply taking the required exams and in most situations a sequential order of tests. I am a veteran but only have a GED and I started unarmed and within 6 months I was armed and earning 14.85 ph. It's not as difficult as one would think to obtain these qualifications. Search for your state board of private Security Examiners and you should find everything you need to know and do to become a board certified Officer. Armed or unarmed.
Yes.. in most cases the company you are applying to will pay for your training.
@@garrettpartin954 You have really broke down everything that they need to know. Thanks Garrett! 👍🏽
I would also add (alone with what Garrett said) that they will do a background check.
My advice, avoid corrections security jobs. It's unreliable as a job and its a long wait being unemployed waiting just to start. You get trained and suddenly are out of work for weeks waiting for the final approval just to start working
Allied universal about to be $17 (Miami, FL 2023) per hour for Unarmed and they absorbed G4S company.
Oh Cool! Thanks for sharing this info bruh! 💯

I worked for G4S for several years before they were purchased by Allied Universal in 2021. I'm still working with AU, but I can say that G4S was a great company to work for. No comment about AUS 🤣
Thanks for commenting Brien... seems like Allied is buying everybody out. 💰💰
I can never ever suggest that anyone work at Securitas in Mississippi.
At the site I worked at for them the past was 7.80 unarmed but doing alot more than the average site as far as duties go with the average being around 9 at the time. 10-12 if you were a flex. Along with that they were just horribly mismanaged.
Wow that does sound like very low pay for today's economy.
I've actually worked for Securitas many years ago so I can relate to them getting you to do more than what a security guard should do at certain sites.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Most security jobs don’t pay enough. I live in Las Vegas and turned a lot of security guard jobs down because of the low pay. Not only that but they want you to go way across town for a post only to pay you 11-12$ an hour. Private security or being a bodyguard probably will get you more money. Hell being a correctional officer will be waaay more rewarding.
Yea that sound like what I experienced as well.
It seem (but not always) the higher the risk of the security position the more they pay.
I just couldn't justify the risk vs reward (pay) when looking at dangerous armed post, correctional, etc. which is why I end up exiting the industry.
I have my classes start in July I just wanna do this and be successful and enjoy my job and help people I wanna change my life

In Arizona we don't get paid vacations in California they have to .pay ok now because minimum wage is high here . McDonald's pays 15 an hour
No paid vacations is odd if you are a full time employee. 🤔 Hopefully they are a least paying a livable wage over there. 🤞
Mall of America Security starts at $17.50/hr. for part-time and anywhere from $18.50/hr. to $23/hr. for full-time, depending on qualifications.

I jsut got hired yesterday at City Wide Protection in san diego. They starting me out at 19/hour. I have zero qualifications.
I have found that the smaller companies pay the most I won’t work for a large company. My last two jobs paid over 20 an hour. The larger companies offered me $16 an hour.
I never thought of that but I have worked for the both, large & small & the smaller one did pay more. 🤯
@@HumanEncoded the smaller ones look for guys with a lot of experience it won’t take a newbie most of the time. I usually negotiate pay like I tell them straight out. I deserve more money because I don’t call in sick and I’m never late that’s worth more and I usually get it as you know security is hurting nobody ever shows up to work or there late all the time. I’m in Illinois.
Just got hired by Brinks yesterday. Starting pay is $20.62

There are many security jobs that hire people with no experience. What is a D&G license?
Hey man, what about brosnan security? How much do they pay on average?
Indeed is saying their average pay is $15.80 per hrs.
Hope this helps 🤞🏽
@@HumanEncoded Thanks for the info!
I make $45 per hours as s security police officer. 4/12.5 shifts and 3 days off. 11 paid holidays, double time on holidays, double time for overtime. Easy 6 figures.
WoW, sounds like you have the ideal security position with that type of pay!! 👏👏
Do you mind telling us what company or city you work in Brad?
I can tell you factually, Gardaworld, G4S (before they were bought out) and allied security pays little to no pay! I refused to work for them. I quit Gardaworld after six months because of that. I turned down allied and G4S because of the pay.
Best bet, apply to local, state and federal government contract security companies. They pay a little more.
Gardaworld drives and does armored bank trucks and banks too.
Good advice.... thanks for your input Justin. 💯
Gardaworld trucks are well known for being rundown wrecks that are literally held together with spit and baling wire. Several high profile traffic incidents happened where the trucks blew through a red light and people were killed. Florida highway patrol found the trucks in those cases had no brakes and were written up for service which was never done to save a few bucks
The Security companies listed in this video are definitely not the highest paying companies that do security. There are security companies that actually pay $30+ an hour to be an armed guard on Federal contracts. The list is Inter-con Security Sytems, Omniplex, Triple Canopy, Centerra, Constellis, Academi, Pinkerton, Diversified Protection Corporation...outside of this you have different types of Physical Security you can do like Corporate Security which definitely pays good money if not 6 figures definitely close to it, Executive Protection which also pays really good another 6 figure type of security job and many other types of security occupations out there. If people apply themselves they can definitely make really great money in the security field.
Thanks for posting this Jean..... There's sooo many types of security jobs out there with a huge variety of pay. I just picked from the common base security companies I know exist around the country not just in one city or state.
I'm sure some areas of the country do start pay at $30 plus but that same starting pay does not apply across the country due to the difference in cost of living.
Hopefully your post helps someone get that 6 figure job you are talking about 🤞
@@HumanEncoded The other thing is a lot of those companies he spoke of are PMC groups. They're mercenary services on top of everything else. If you want a job that pays 6 figures like he said they're typically government contracts. The problem is for a government contract you need a top secret security clearance typically aaaaaand Constellis (and I'm sure many others) will take that out of your salary. That alone is $50,000.
@@NIGHTSHADE31401 Wow that a big investment but with good pay I see.

What about level 4 officers? Any videos on these positions?
I never received my level 4. You would get that if you want to work as a bodyguard or event security (clubs, concerts, etc.)
There should be videos on YT talking about level 4 🤞🏽
@@HumanEncoded very few that seem legit. Not much info on them though. Was looking to getting my level 4 but wonder if it’s worth it. Pros and Cons.

Currently working for Allied in Utah at 19/hr as an unarmed EMT. I'd get even more once an armed post opens up. Same as what I was making working at a prison and I don't have to deal with inmates. Not bad, not great, but certainly not bad.

Hi, this is very interesting video. I have 9yrs security guard experience in UAE, help me find security guard job in USA.
Unarmed security in Ohio only require you to pass a drug test and background check. No formal training required. It's kind of funny some of people my company hires who have no desire to be a proper security officer/guard.
I can see why ppl would feel that way if you only have to pass drug test & background check. It's just a job that will allow them to pay bills.
I say do your job but don't over do it acting like you law enforcement. Lol
I get paid $13 an hour, but work 200 hours in 2 weeks. Job is very simple. But boring lol, but no health benefits or pto. Looking for a better company that will pay me overtime and with benefits.
I'm surprised you don't get overtime once you go over 40 hrs. I didn't know that was legal. 😬
Hopefully you can find a better one to work for in the near future. 🤞
I'm not sure about the other states, but here in VA, Securitas just raise the pay rate to 15.

I’ve worked for Allied Universal…they are a TERRIBLE company…
oh, well thanks for your honest feedback Austin💯
Work federal or EP! That's it plan simple. If you're not making 40 to 120 an hour you're working for a company like allied! If you're not making that kind of money it's because you're not worth it or you just don't know!
I think your statistics is wrong on Brinks because I called l loomis a.k.a. another bank truck companyThey start out at $21 an hour for the transit guard for cash and $20 for the driver they also have a 401(k) and pension which is surprising because a lot of companies don’t give out a pension unless they’re a big Rich company also health insurance also they raise you up to $35 over the course of five years is what I was told that sounds really great I’ll be checking them out
The wages I quoted then could definitely be different now.... especially with the cost of living going up around the country. I hope they paying more by now. Thanks for updating us Victor. 👍
@@HumanEncoded Not to mention when the company grows bigger they have a little more money to spend but personally this is just my opinion doing that job they should be giving at least $30 an hour starting that’s extremely dangerous granted I understand it’s like a cop wage those people are risking their lives for the banks money
Used to work there and I believe the guards make about $20- 22. I seen them lose so many people from the long hours. Plus being a target every day maintenance atm’s for that amount of money isn’t worth it in my opinion. Really have to keep your head on a swivel doing that
