Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun Longplay (Arcade) [4K]
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- Developed and published by Technos in 1986
For those who may not know, Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun is the original Japanese release of Renegade. The two versions play the same, but, If I'm honest, I think I actually better this over its westernised counterpart, mostly due to the fact this has a sense of personality its westernised counterpart lacks. The cutscenes showing your high-school chum getting beaten up by an assortment of punks and bad guys is a neat touch, and makes a change to the usual cliché of muscle-bound guy trying to save a girl.

The beat em up that started it all. Its such an incredible game. That combat and music absolutely rocks.
It was said that Kung Fu Master was the precursor to the Beat em up genre.
Double Dragon copied most of their moves.
@@mr.marino9247 Because this game and Double Dragon were both made by the same company
Local teen mad about friend getting beat up, takes down 3 gangs and yakuza.
I´m more surprised he keeps doing it instead of irritated at the friend not being able to defend himself.
Riki: “Bro, I’m glad you’re okay!” Kunio: “Same here. That was a rough knife you took!” Riki: “Thank God for great surgeons!”
Weren't they enemies in this game, though?
@@gr8gmr In the original Japanese version, I didn't think so.
@Theodore Hsu Yeah, in this game (the original version), Riki is actually the first boss.
@@gr8gmr My memory is not as good as yours then. But I didn't say I was too knowledgeable about the River City world either.
“River City Girls” brings back the Round 3 boss, Misuzu, as the first boss Misako and Kyoto face. Sabu, the last boss, gets his daughter, Sabuko, as the next to lass boss the two girls face.
this is the best Kunio Boy game
Misuzu has made other appearances in the series before River City Girls.
@@gr8gmr I think I saw her in the Neo Geo Kunio volleyball game as well as Misako.
she also shows up in river city tokyo rumble (the 3ds remake of renegade) as a playable character!
Had to feel bad for the guy who keep getting his ass kicked.
This is one of the most influential games of all time. It’s a masterpiece. Kunio Kun is the best beat em up series of all time imo
2:29 Who knew Japanese school girls could be so violent?
Back in the 1980s, someone told me that some of the Japanese words used were rude ones: I've never known if that's true.
Okay, fortunately, I am Japanese and I can explain to you what each character says in the game!
Here’s the list of the characters’ lines:
Kunio:待てこの野郎!(Mate Kono Yaro!)=Wait,you bastards!
Riki:なめんなよこの野郎!(Namennayo Kono Yaro!)=Don’t mess with me you bastard!
Shinji:ざけんじゃねぇ!(Zakenja Nei!)=Don’t be ridiculous,scum!
Misuzu:なめてんじゃねぇぞ(Nametenja neizo)=Don’t be kidding me!
@@ミツルギレイジwell thanks, I don't know how swears are use in Japan but it doesn't seems that awful
@@ungars1312 Yes,the swears in the game are much better than those bad words used by recent Japanese Gen Z kids lol
@@ミツルギレイジ an example 😂?
@@ungars1312 Japanese kids these days are willing to literally say “FU** YOU”just as a joke or a little kidding, and even some little children whose age are around 7~10 often use such words in both Japanese and English although they don’t know what they mean…
Here’s an another example of an expression which most Gen Z kids don’t know how awful it is.
There is a Japanese word“鬼畜(Kichiku)”, which means something like badass or fu**ed up,but almost every recent kids misunderstand that it is not that bad,and they mistakenly use it just to mean something hard to do.
Man, Kunio goes out of his way to avenge his friend. A real man.
Renegade.. that's an old game.
I used to play it on a green screen Amstrad CPC 464 tape loader..
Ground and pound was the best!
🥰
The way the main character punches his opponents reminds me a lot of Double Dragon; I assume the programmers of DD were inspired by Renegade...?
Same developers - Technos developed Renegade and Double Dragon.
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays they should evolve renegade but I guess they wanted something more american in order to sell ...
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays And Super Dodge Ball and River City Ransom. All have the same style to them.
@@stonetic2515 "River City" is the westernized name of the "Kunio-kun" game series.
4:12 well Kunio's friend is dead. That knife insta-kills!!
Thanks to this game, the beat em up game can be side scrolling, thanks to the double dragon, the beat em up game can pick up weapons
Nekketsu kouha Kunio kun :😃
Renegade : 😂😂
Girls stage brawl : girls masked, oh
I have just realised that the two last levels were featured in Target: Renegade! :D
With each cinematic, I see Kunio getting angrier.
I played the U.S. version in the arcades when I was a young teen. Best game at the time. This version is way cooler.
4:57 ace of spades - motorhead
4:32 "wellcome"
That's poor translation for you. Just like how nintendo messed up DK's name.
Man, why does everyone hate your friend?
It's much better than Renegade US/EU! More moves, fluid combat
This is the exact same as Renegade, there are no missing moves from the western version. The only differences are purely in the graphics and sound, not in the gameplay
@@turbomarioyou can't throw enemies or run & punch in Renegade for 8bit though, but Renegade arcade indeed has all the moves
Always wanted to know what the monstrous lady says before she realeases the slap machine lol
"Don't you underestimate me!" I think it is
@@Taneuma_563 wow thanks!!
@@mr.marino9247 you're welcome
3:53 Always scared me.
That's perfectly justified, imo. Especially the bit where that monstrosity starts chasing the player at 3:58. That's terrifying!
Yeah...that's one terrifying schoolgirl. 😂
Great playing.
I d give you a medal for each level
Level 1:
I oh-dyya one
Level 2:
Sharpshooter
Level 3:
Every carom counts
Level 4:
Takin' it to the streets
Level 5:
March of the Terra Cotta Warrior!
This versions a bit better than usa version...
0:12 1:12 2:29 4:13
What did you say Kunio?
He says "Get back here, you assholes!"
Kunio-kun equal rights since 1986
As Batman says, hammer of justice is unisex.
ironically, later games give him the same “wouldn’t hit a lady” thing kazama kiryu has in the yakuza games (side note: kiryu looks JUST LIKE what i’d imagine an older kunio who never gave up the yanki (japanese greaser) lifestyle)
@@masonasaro2118 Kunio wasn't a yanki though. He was just a typical delinquent.
i have been looking for this game for 15 years. US version was named as "School fight" so i could not find its ROM anywhere, after few levels i am stuck
yoshihisa san first masterpiece 👌🏻
Japanese version of Renegade, in America.
*original version.
Beats up a woman boss after slapping you multiple times then throws you only to groan out with the man SFX. 🤣
“Longplay” … lasts barely 6 minutes in total.
Good 4k view Goodjob
0:12 待てこの野郎
Alternative to Renegade.
Original Japanese version, whereas Renegade is the US version ;)
good=)
Todo era conversión de dos versiones uno es américa y otro de japonesa bueno fueron los primeros tener en la región es diferente
MALOULTRAIMPOSIBLE DE IMPOSIBLE
this game isn’t impossible, you just need to practice more and get better
i prefer cpc version
İttoreşekke
5:10 That's the lousiest gun sound i've ever heard in a game ^^ The game looks lousy too ^^
The game doesn't look bad, far from it.
This game is one of the founding fathers of the beat em up genre, and it’s far from “lousy”. Put some respect on it’s name
It sounds lousy because Technos had to work with two oscillators. But the graphics don't stink. E.T. looked far worse than this.
@@StudioSoaker Yeah that's true .. i meant the game in general ... just doesn't look so good.
It looks awesome
Renegade rip off
Renegade was converted from this game for release in the U.S.
this is the original version
You know nothing, Jon Snow.
This was the Japanese version 😂
