That cabinet is in excellent condition! Space Harrier full hydraulic is one of my all time favourite arcade games. The weird environments, the imaginative enemies, the excellent soundtrack, the quirky sound effects - Space Harrier had it all. From the time when arcades were the pinnacle of gaming that home machines strived to achieve.....
When I was a kid this game garnered many many of my quarters. It was such an awesome fast paced game for its time. I wish it was playable on Xbox just to take a trip down memory lane.
I miss these old days. When I was at college 1986-1988 I used to play the sit down version like this every lunch break at the local Arcade. finish the game with 1 x 20p credit!. Sigh..
Well, I am sorry that you think that, I indeed had 3 small lives not the big ones for 50p and got to the end almost every time as I played it daily whilst at college back in 1987
My fav game from the 80’s and was able to complete the game with two quarters (more expensive than the regular cabinet game). Was also able to finish Afterburner with two quarters. Felt like a rock star when the a group people would look at you playing 💪
As a SEGA Master System player, I've never actually seen the original arcade. God, the musical theme slaps hard even with all the explosions and the screams. Gorgeous.
Springfield Mall TIME-OUT in Faitfax County Virgina had one of these back in the day. Also full cabinet After Burner, Out-Run, Hang On and Power Drift!
I wonder if this arcade have hayao hidden level in space harrier ? Realy nice to see this already 30 years ago i play this in arcade game shop in indonesia
Hell... To learn about this after like... 35 years... THey had this one in a theme park and it did not move at all, we kids simply thought Sega found it cool to build a game you can sit in :o
@@arcadeguy781 I remember it was a dollar to play back then, which was outrageous. Plus the thing just looked intimidating at 7 years old lol. Same reason I never got to play Afterburner in the arcade.
She’s a cutie. Sick machine too. I’ve never seen one working before. Don’t understand how the character is flying though. At least when Bayonetta mimicked this game she was standing on a rocket.
I have put many coins in that very machine when I was young. The joystick control was *perfect* (I tried to play it on mame emulator but it just doesn't feel the same, especially for the triangle maneuver that helps a lot to defeat end level bosses). I would love to play it again.
I actually want to start collecting old machines but it seems like the ones I want are not around anymore. Didn't know a sit down Space Harrier even existed. Shame that I now have the money to get into the hobby but all the places around me that sell cabinets have really sparse, limited stock.

Try not to record a video with the arcade running without its covers; if anything falls down (ring, metal clip, etc) you can cause a short circuit (damaging the boards, motors, mechanism) or even worst, risk your life or the girl's by electrical shock (sparks, component explosion, etc).
I swear that 1980 to 1988 were the greatest years to be alive
as soon as they improved graphics and complex moves games became more of a frustration than enjoyment

Also thankyou for showing the inner mechanism, I always wondered how that worked!
well done not easy as games
yes it was a dream time
everyone is asking how it works
@NoodleBoi The title makes a lot more sense with that in mind.

昔学校帰りに毎日ゲーセン通ってやってたなぁ。懐かしい😂
This is amazing and those arcade cabinets look to be in amazing condition. You've done a great job taking care of them!
Thanks for showing the internals! Curious minds always want a deep dive😀
It's a thing of beauty ☺️ never seen the deluxe version in my local arcade..

スペースハリア大好きです。特に天井が降りてくる面がカッコいい!!
My strategy back then was "just rotate the whole time", the moving cabinet made that more funky.
Just show these cabinets to the youngster today with their mobile phones. Awesome stuff, great!
なつかしい!動く筐体じゃなかったですが、ゲームセンターでプレイした事ありますよ!
My parents played this back in the day and got a nerfed version for the Genesis. I'm mostly nostalgic for the theme song
Gotta love your parents . That's awesome
the 32x version is mostly faithful to the original arcade release
Some of the best music from any game ever.... Konamis stuff is up there too

Thunder blade moving cockpit was awesome too
Get ready! Ah the memories of playing this at the local fair when we used to have one I miss those days so much
This is so cool! 😀 Lots of fun stuff in that room! Love the music.
I love Space Harrier but I've never played it on the actual machine! This is a bucket list item for sure.
Yo si le he jugado en maquina real... En mi SEGA 16-Bit ;) - Y es fabuloso :-O... SSEEEGGAAAA!! Forever!
I am making a fan game of space harrier and I want to create even the complete machine. :0
Wow. A hottie on an awesome arcade machine. Wish I was there.

As someone who slogged their way to the end of the Master System version of Space Harrier, I would love to have a go on this machine
I want to create an arcade machine, But with my space harrier fan Game, good to know you showed a little bit of the components 🙏👀.

Cool, never had the chance to play the game like that. Only could play Super Hang On on simulated bike once.

Love it outrun proper arcade sounds lots of work to make arcade games y can tell space h was grat music memories cool back then and still cool now

Most kids never played it. It was too expensive. You could use that $1 in quarters to play multiple other games that were just as fun.

The player character is wearing a jet pack.
Id love to try these old hydrolic machines...
Kind of want to fly across the world to Usa and visit one of those massive arcades like funspot.
Fantastic!!!. From argentina

They should make an episode of this machine on Modern Marvels
I wonder how many coins slipped out of peoples' pockets while they played this.
Where is this? Where did you find a working cabinet??
Did they use any form of positional control other than the limit switches? It does look like the machine knows how to get back to center position.

These moving arcade cabinets would of been dangerous in the crowded arcades, just takes someone to get too close it wanting to watch the action.

Its mind boggling that this game came out in 1995
