Another beautiful video.. Not sure why, but @12:20 I loved listening to that new Yanmar spin up.. Sounds so perfect and much better than the Volvo imp. Sailboat is looking just perfect! And then @12:39 and onward as she sails like an arrow threw perfect conditions. Could watch hours of that type of perfect sailing with a nice mix of storms for good measure... :)
@steveb3308 Thanks Steve. It was so easy there. We were just free diving & drifting slowly along the reef wall in a gentle current. Was a cool place. 👍
@@sailingjaygo We are three months away from hauling out, then after that, we are on our way. We plan to do Qld and the Kimberlies, then Indo... I bet we get to Darwin and give in and not wait till the next season.. Loving what we see over there.
@leezettb. Great Plan. Have a look at some of Dee’s earlier videos if you haven’t sailed the Qld coast before. You might pick up some more ideas of places to stop (or bypass). There’s also earlier stuff on sailingjaygo Instagram from before she started doing UA-cam. Rob.
@ I’ve been following you guys since Vanuatu and took notes of the anchorages as you guys went up to Indo from the Goldie. Will check out earlier stuff for sure. 👍
Hey, I have a bit of a strange question if I could ask it. I have been watching this global sailboat race called the "GGR" ie Golden Globe Race, in which heavy built older full keel sailboats that are 36 feet or less, race around the world non-stop - usually Rustler 36 type boats. They are all very customized with waterproof compartments and builkheads added to them. I was wondering whether your sailboat could do that race through the southern oceans and back up to France or Eng;and, without any modifications? I remember that Amels have water tightness built right in. Plus your sailboat is much faster and bigger??
The Amel Super Maramu is not on the approved list of boats eligible to enter that race. It is however easily capable of that route if in properly maintained condition though.
