Thanks, I had one come with it but was too small and location on front interfered with the door. Anyway, what I did is working great. Thanks for watching and thanks for your feedback.
I have an older lonestargrillz 1/4" thick offset smoker I need to add a probe port, will that one you used fit, I bought this but its not long enough to go through the 1/4" steel to add the inside to tighten and secure it!
Hey Michael, yes this one will work on 1/4 inch steel. It's made for the Yoder and it has 1/4 inch. I bought another one from Amazon which is just like it. It's a worthwhile project.
@@progers5019 thanks, I bought mine at amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WWGVTYM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It says use make a final hole of 27/32" I cant find a drill bit or step bit in that size, is there another size I can use~! Thanks Phil!
@@Michael0506 I drilled the largest hole I could with a 3/4 inch bit, then finished it out with a round file and then a frinding stone bit on my dremel as shown in the video. The step bit does come in sizes large enough for that. You could install it not using the lock washer where you can grab threads to tighten the nut. That would be good enough. Or, do a countersink on the hole to allow the shoulder of the port to go into the hole an 1/8 inch allowing the threads to be accessible for the nut. The first way is best.
@@progers5019 I like how you did it, I want to use the nut on the inside so I will do it your way, I just need to buy me a dremel set, no I have an excuse to buy one at least we will tell the wife I need one, lol thanks so much for help!
TruckdrivinMilan R you did good. Maybe this video can save others a little hassle. The port I ordered from allthingsbbq was 3 times the size of what came with my pit. I have 3 probe wires in it and pretty sure it would take 4 or 5. thanks for watching
Nice Phil! I’m researching ideas for Thermoworks probe ports I found this very helpful.

Stubanshuber I Thanks man
Nice video!
thanks for the insight
RIP Phil :(
Hello!
Thank you for the great video!
Is this is M16 or M20?
Can you tell me what temperature it can withstand?
Would this probe fit a 5/16 thick smoker?
Next time I visit my brother in law in Nickolasville, I'll give you a shout in Florence Y'all.
lol, just caught that "Y'all". Ohhh, I got more funny words
I hear Florence, I think Kentucky. There's a huge sign on 1-75 South that says " Welcome to Florence Y'all"
When I posted that I forgot you're in SC

@@Michael0506 I just did this mod today and a 13/16 drill bit works perfectly.
I ordered my smoker with 2 probe ports.

I should have mine today. Dayton Freight has been holding mine hostage since Friday. I'll upload video when it shows up.
TruckdrivinMilan R Hey that's great. I'll be looking for some cooks.
