Sorry for the delay in responding.....never really thought to check this account, plus abandoned the old email that was associated with it. :o) I never realized I only published the one video. It is a computer case/power supply fan. I used it when the bottom of the firebox was covered with ash, the charcoal would not get enough oxygen to make heat, so I devised that little trick. There was little wind that day.
Actually, I made another mod that has turned out to be a neat little trick. I bought a used propane turkey fryer (like the Bayou brand) and removed the burner and mounted it in my firebox. I then bought a pair of charcoal holding bins (weber brand) from Home Depot and put both my charcoal and smoker chips in the box. I don't have any worries about long smokes and dumping temps anymore plus I get the benefits of both the charcoal and the ease of the gas when smoking with chips.. lol

Hey this is really cool. I have the same smoker. Where can I get a fan like that?

So do you use the fan only when there's little wind outside? I usually maneuver my smoker towards the wind to assist oxygen flow....if it's windy.

On these cheap smokers, they're very thin metal. I could never keep this Brinkmann stable, didn't matter if I pointed it into the wind. I ended up taking a fryer head from a turkey fryer and passing it through the air intake (used the one with stainless braided lines to protect the rubber hose) and started using it that way. I built an expanded metal basket to go over the fryer head and I purchased two weber steel trays from Home Depot, put my wood chunks in one, some charcoal in the other so I kept the same flavors. Worked well for a long time, but now that pit is rusted out, so I am in the process of converting a 120 gallon propane tank into a large pit. Daughter is getting married in a couple months and she asked me to cook the meals for the reception. It's been a fun project. I am only 2 weekends into the project and over half done.

How did you make that again? That is ingenious.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I abandoned my old email address and
never got any alerts on this video and stumbled on it. I will fix the
      alerting for that ID.
It's a simple large metal can from either tie super sized baked beans or
green beans at Wal-Mart. I cut it in half, punched a hole in the back
of it for the fan, ran 4 drywall screws into it and connected it to a
12v battery. Extremely simple idea. Fan is from a computer case that
      runs on 12VDC. I can't believe there's over 7k views on this!
