This is an excerpt from my upcoming LP, Wxtchcrxft. This will be my 5th LP and it is purely microtonal. This 24 minute title track is the center piece to the album. It is divided into 3 parts but presented as a whole:
    1. 0:00 Sonder
    2. 7:48 Wxtchcrxft
    3. 14:32 Forever
This piece contains the conceptual and thematic climax of the album in the land of forever. The story is of a harmonic witch who turns herself into sound and can't find her way back.
    Tuning:
WXTCHCRXFT is further proof of concept illustrating my harmonic scale theories and "near equal just intonation" approach. I used two primary tunings throughout:
    1) 29-tone neji, 19*11 novemdecimal-undecimal hybrid:
    209:214:219:225:230:235:241:247:253:259:265:272:279:285:292:299:306:314:322:329:337:345:354:362:371:380:389:398:408:418
    step - ratio - cents

    6: 80/41 1157.2
    7: 91/41 1380.2
    3) Vocals:
The vocals are, of course, in just intonation but I accept organic tuning errors. When dealing with just intonation at this level, it's extremely difficult to sing pure. The resolution of control our vocal physiology offers quickly gets outpaced by resolution of harmonic possibility. Therefore, I do my best to sing the JI as I want, but accept error in the voice. I'm targeting several lower complexity intervals in the voice, tuning to the ensembles complex just intonation, and singing more complex JI targets not listed in either tuning.
    Lyrics:
the lyrics are an impressionistic and reactionary impulse which spontaneously synthesizes my experience of the sound and the conceptual arc. There are lyrics but everyone will hear something different. The affect of the music, then, will dictate how each person hears WXTCHCRXFT.
    Credits
Amelia Huff - tuning, synthesis, composition, arrangement, mixing, mastering, artwork, film, editing, and performance.
    warmly,

The transcendent queen arose between the paradoxical harmonic dissonance that she carved in the land with hands and teeth. She towers over the vast sonic landscape that lay around her as streams flow from her mouth and eyes propounding to the all the melody of her intent; a conflict that only finds resolution in itself, of itself. This universe is both new and old and the source, the queen, has seen and caused it all to be. Magnificence! Thank you for your art 👏👏👏👏👏👏

You're one of the best in the world of microtonal music. Often it sounds "out of tune" when listening to others play around with it but somehow you make it gel perfectly. Must be the primodality at work!

I think this proves exactly what you're talking about with the JI/neji approach, you're creating chords and progressions that have their own interesting character to them. Can't wait for that LP!

I've been producing music for over 13 years. After watching lots of videos on harmonies, just intonation vs equal temperament etc., I found your music. I'm speechless, I'm blown away. Not only because of your unique tonal choices, but also because of your talent and passion, creativity and visuals. This kind of music keeps your brain focused and entertained, and maybe somehow may help with ADHD conditions, just assuming. Anyway, great work, I really enjoyed it, subscribed, and off to listen to more of your music :)

I revisited this song after not listening to it since November or so. The level of control that sound has over the mind is disarming in some ways, and this song demonstrates that for me. I can remember specific smells from the time period in which I first heard this piece: smoke, engine oil, musty upholstery and root beer flavored vape. There are also less ephemeral experiences that start to appear from that time, mainly the wildfires near me and the loss of a friend just over two months after this song was released, right before Halloween. Z, you have successfully anchored a part of my psyche to this song like a save point in a video game. Everything I was experiencing at that time is instantly available in some sense memory data bank for about half an hour just by listening to this song. Thank you for allowing me to have this experience.

This music is absolutely entrancing, and so is the video honestly. For something that is 24 minutes long, I was expecting something that had a much slower build up or took longer to change textures, but I think the fact that there's always something developing is what wraps the listener in and keeps us engaged so well!

You are a genius. Despite how much music I listen to, the number of times that music alone has made me outright say that to someone is extremely limited and it hasn't happened since 2011. The night I found this will be something that I remember forever, just like that night was.

Wow... I just found out about your music, and I must say that I can't comprehend the scope of amazing stuff you have composed and produced in a rather short amount of time. All of it is simply mind-blowingly unique and innovative. Not just in terms of tonality and tuning, but in terms of how you use it to create grand musical narratives with maximum emotional impact that constantly keeps you on your toes while listening. I think that a new part of my brain has been activated, or something. Thank you so much!

You know I often wonder about things like that, especially considering how so many of the classical composers we associate with utter musical genius now actually died broke and far less known in their times than relatively underground artists of today, only to be worshipped in the future and endlessly studied. There's honestly no reason not to expect it; it's what's happened for centuries. Sad on one hand but majestic on the other.
It will be even more eerie for those of the future, having access to the sound files of the long dead. Imagine if we actually had endless recordings of Bach displaying his harmonic mastery exactly as it was intended. Bach wasn't as unknown as many of them, but he wasn't rich, only made a decent living, and was mostly only heavily respected as a genius by other music nerds back then. Now he's just a household name and even people who don't like him personally know he was absolutely cracked.

I don't know, if you just came to appreciate the beauty of spectrograms, or if it actually has to do with some of your other type of videos - especially on the second channel - but it made me feel hard in that direction while listening. Part two hit extra hard for some reason and I got some This Binary Universe vibes from it as well.
The closeups of the spectrograms made me tear up at some parts...
Amazing track that made me stop everything I was doing and just listen and watch. Thanks for making this.

It is like music beamed in through a wormhole and sounding in full technicolor with every frequency of electromagnetic radiation suddenly made audible. ITS FINALLY RELEASED!
    Favourite part 0:00-24:33
This is a gigantic masterpiece, amazing job
Edit: I am also very happy with the changes in the final mix, they make this so much better, especcially the part around 5 minutes in

Woooo!! I'm glad you like all the changes I added. I feel this mix is way more solid, well rounded, and dynamic than the all the previous drafts. I'm happy with how the transitional sections turned out. like 4:35. When it was just music it was so barren! now it feels like those areas are thematic high points. Thank you for listening so intently!~

Absolutely love it! Also, really nice to see more use of microtonal tunings. I love using various tunings as well -- it really helps keep composition feeling fresh!

I was stuck in thinking of synths alternately as a very rigid and sterile group or something formless and fluid. You've overcome that dichotomy here, very nice!
