    This video took me back to a time when I was able to travel clockwise, right around Australia. On our adventure we saw many wonderful things and Kakadu was right up there as one of the best experiences. We saw many strange & beautiful birds but never in a million years could we capture them as well as you have Marie. You have done a great job, thank you.

    Lovely closeups of the birds and excellent narration.Although three of those birds are commonly found along Australia's east coast down to Victoria.Would have liked to see some exclusive to NT.

    LOL Willie Wagtails are knows to swoop anything. I have photographed a resident in my backyard attacking Magpies, Galahs, butcherbirds and so on. never figured out the reason why though :/

    You do realise there is a cost of equipment, travel and other expenses right, so in reality after normal cost's your not making a HUGE amount of money (some people are lucky to make even)... Doing so also not only lets people enjoy the birds but also spread information regarding the birds and helps opens our eyes to some of the more troubling things like habitat loss, impact from introduced species etc.

    I've seen very similar interaction between a Forest Kingfishers and a Willie Wagtails several times here in Queensland, I do wonder what goes on? It's never any other species, always Willie Wagtail and Forest Kingfisher. The willie flaps around in the kingfisher's face and the kingfisher usually does not react. if it does, it only shuffles to the side a little bit, seemingly annoyed. Very strange.

    Excellent photography and a great story. Those Willy Wagtails harass everything that comes close to their nest, so even though the Forest Kingfisher may not have been a threat they will harass it anyway. I have had one swoop me on several occasions, of course they can't hurt you, but you get a bit of a fright just the same.

    The "stork" with the black head and is is called a Jabiru

    • @dumbarsechippy
      @dumbarsechippy 5 років тому

      Nope... it’s a Black-necked Stork... a Jabiru is a type of South American stork... The Black-necked Stork is often wrongly called a Jabiru because it resembles the other bird and because people think “Jabiru” sounds like an Aboriginal name

    • @michael49777
      @michael49777 5 років тому

      @@dumbarsechippy Nope, it's a Jabiru. I don't care what you think, its a Jabiru, from the wetlands in the Northern Territory. There are other species but none from South America

    People use film to make money for themselves, stop filming for money. If you live in poverty, don't use birds to help yourself.
