thank god. i thought i was crazy w/ the stuff i take to the gym but i carry almost everything you went through. since my gym doesn't have a dead lift jack, i bought a dead lift wedge. takes up so little space i sometimes forget i have it.
One of my favs videos of you is the one where you deadlift with a minie mouse custom. Great energy, great training and great music. It would be nice to see those kind of video again. You have a great channel btw 🙂
thank you! I liked doing Amanda's but I get tired of talking about myself! So I haven't done one in awhile lol. I might do a little podcast tour to promote our new coaching platform, so Maybe soon!
Id love to hear more about what type of belts and when to use one! Being new into power lifting I never know what I need or when I'd need it Lol love your videos and you! Thanks for everything meg!!❤❤
I love how you out here doing you and creating your youtube channel based off what makes you happy. True fan here, I will love whatever you post! Keep at it Meg :)
What’s crazy is I literally was just looking on your website for suggestions on gym equipment (cuz I’m looking for a belt) and then I found this through your Instagram. It’s like the universe just aligned fucking rad. You’re rad btw.
Yes please belts for 5 min Friday. Do you have a brand recommendation for the simpler Velcro belt? Before you launch the Strong Strong Supply version at least :)
Thanks for video meg! I really want to get Inhale from Strong Strong Supply! I've been wanting to purchase some but was afraid I wasn't 'hardcore enough' to have it. Again, you always inspire me to be the best version on myself and to be a strong lady!
It's not a lifting accessory per se, but one of my favourite gym accessories is my knobby lacrosse ball! It's so great for warm ups, tacking muscles, and getting out knots all over the body and in areas that are hard to get with a foam roller. My MB hip circle is hands down my #1 though :). Next I'd like to try out some heeled shoes and see if they help me
Awesome vid! I'll be sending a couple friends over to this one since they're only just getting into powerlifting. I keep telling them the old motto "don't have $100 shoes if you have a 10cent squat" and to focus on technique above all else.
Very useful video, thanks Meg :) I just bought my 'Gateway' belt - as a crazy, koolaid drinking Crossfitter using my friend's belt for doing 90 deadlifts DEFINITELY saved my back! The only thing that I include is a lacrosse ball for mobility before squatting. I get some pretty funny looks sitting on one to mobilise my piriformis but it definitely helps my squats!
Yes, please talk about belts. For both folks who compete, don't compete and plan to compete. I am 5'2" so what do you recommend for short women etc.. TIA
jizzypuff, I'm used to saying it that way because most people think anyone lifting a bar is a weightlifter. It's habit. It means I lift oly style. Thanks for commenting, though.
I'm not very interested in all this equipment stuff, but still enjoyed every second of the video. Megan, as always you are just delightful and pleasent to watch. Have you already improved your cardio/running skills, since your breakdown at the army test? ;-) What a nice place to live. Beautiful house and area. I dont know exactly where you live, but I think its Canada? I've been in western Canada last September and I loved absolutely everything about it, although the climate and the winter is pretty hardcore. Greets from germany.
Omg Meg, you always give the best advice and suggestions!! 😊 I love your products because it’s affordable 👍🏼 and you also give out promo codes for discounts on things you use yourself! 😊 thanks for helping a broke college student out! 😂😁 btw your so beautiful 🧡
Awesome of you to be real about bloating - I have the same problem :( (maybe an idea for 5 minute friday - lifting and our hormone cycles). I suppose not lifting gear directly but in my gym kit I also have a set of bands (love getting creative with incorporating these) and a lacrosse ball for working out kinks (or if you are extra fancy - the hyperice hypersphere - but its pricey).
Lots of awesome things in this video. The ONE thing I wish I knew before I competed in my first meet last month is where that crop top was from 😂🙈 I knew about all the other goodies except for that one, and I would’ve looked like less of a mess had I known about it. Thx gf 😘😘
Are the czech shoes Matulka? I didn't know if I heard correctly and I'm from the Czech republic, you see :D Never heard of them though and Google didn't help either, because I don't know if I got the name right!
Might look into the Sling Shot. I been stuck doing the same weights on my bench-press cause I dont have any friends to spot me so I am afraid to add more weight :( Great video!
I had a cobbler make me a leather 4" at the back tapering to 3" at the front really strong belt brass buckle lasted all my lifting days for power lifting and weightlifting I also did the rings so had plenty of grip aslo the main thing in my life is music
For those who want to save money, the single-prong Lifting Large 10 mm belt is the least expensive IPF approved belt you can buy and IMO every bit as good as the more expensive ones. You can also find some really inexpensive 10mm belts on ebay that IMO will easily hold up 80% as long as the more expensive ones. BTW, unless the stitches catch on something sharp a 10mm belt can easily hold up for 20+ years.
I would love to buy some of your stuff but dude, $60 shipping not including import tax is so goddamn expensive for a poor wee student like me. The only solution is you must come and do a seminar at my gym in edinburgh and sell me and the girls there all the pink chalk
Fuck! I swear you read my mind. Im trying to get more serious about my lifting and i totally needed this video. Im trying to be on your level. Thanks girl.😊
Do you have any suggestions for a 3 inch belt?? I own a 4 inch Inzer belt and I have very high hips so I get bruises constantly since the belt is hitting my ribs.
Awesome information 🏋️ by the way I’m so jealous you live in log cabin in the woods. I just got online as I was watching you and emailed matocha about getting me my wife and daughter some shoes. Question I found there website and if I’m reading right there price is pretty good
Love your videos. Starting to hit a wall with my squats, so I may have to invest in a cheap belt. I'm very close to 100kg, i can almost feeeeel it =D =) I use wrist wraps with EVERY movement because I have arthritis in my hands and without them I have pain for days. Mine are the cheaper ones that you mentioned. Also have the SBD's on your recommendation, they are just brilliant, but you aren't wrong about them being a B to get on and off. Thanks again for another awesome video guuuuuurl
I have a velcro belt but I got an Inzer belt for my birthday last year, but I have yet to use it because it feels way too heavy duty and sadly, I'm afraid I'll be judged for not lifting enough to warrant using it. So my question is, how long does it take to break in the Inzer belt? Does it ever break in?
Belinda Kennedy The Inzer belt indeed does initially seem to be bulky and excessive. I just started using a belt this time last year. There are ways to help break in the belt quicker (there are videos on here). It will take about a month of consistent use before you mentally get used to it. And maybe 2+ months before you notice that the belt molds to your body. It *will* get better.
if you don't compete, I don't think it matters if you have to use straps to hit your top single dl. I'd rather keep my arms in the same position for balance reasons.
Good perspective. Grip strength can come in handy for a ton of different things, so I think exercising that is important. If you're incorporating strapless heavy DB training or pulls, and pull-ups then you'll be able to train your grip strength still.
Finding my grip prohibiting my ability to hit my deadlift program of 8+ reps. Should I try wraps or chalk? Also feel pretentious at the gym w equipment when I’m only 105bw dead 165 for 8+, not moving monster weight like the rest of you 😳
You should always be using chalk when you're gripping a bar. Def listen to the comment below and work on grip strength. Try to use straps sparingly, but usually high rep sets like that, def use chalk + straps. Warm up, and try some sets with no straps, then practice heavy carries with dumbbells at the end of your sessions. NO SHAME IN THE WEIGHT YOU'RE PULLING! It's all relative!
Meg did you do the beginning of the video in a low squat position for 10 mins, would you ever cosplay as Laura Croft, and would you consider yourself an outdoors kinda person?..great video, gah damn you’re doin good, good job..
thank god. i thought i was crazy w/ the stuff i take to the gym but i carry almost everything you went through. since my gym doesn't have a dead lift jack, i bought a dead lift wedge. takes up so little space i sometimes forget i have it.
Yes, talk about belts. Include the Spud brand belt if you can. Jennifer Thompson makes Bench Blox. Which look to be more versatile.
Already have blue liquid from PowerHold, can’t wait to get your pink!
Could you talk more about singlets sometime? E.g. where did you get yours, what to look out for when buying one, what size to get... :)
YES!
Check out the fleo women’s singlet!
One of my favs videos of you is the one where you deadlift with a minie mouse custom. Great energy, great training and great music. It would be nice to see those kind of video again. You have a great channel btw 🙂
I’m glad you started these types of videos! ❤️
Just listened to your Bucci Radio interview from last year and I loved every second of it. Hope you do more podcasts in the future!
thank you! I liked doing Amanda's but I get tired of talking about myself! So I haven't done one in awhile lol. I might do a little podcast tour to promote our new coaching platform, so Maybe soon!
Yay for pink chalk!!!
also if you live in Canada inner strength has super fast shipping on Inzer Belts!
Good to know!!
I can confirm this. Inner Strength also has really good customer support!
Thank you! Besides programming, equipment is my biggest question mark.
Id love to hear more about what type of belts and when to use one! Being new into power lifting I never know what I need or when I'd need it Lol love your videos and you! Thanks for everything meg!!❤❤
Great video and I would love to learn more about the use of belts!!
I love how you out here doing you and creating your youtube channel based off what makes you happy. True fan here, I will love whatever you post! Keep at it Meg :)
Yes, more info on belts please Meg :). Great video, as always!
I was gonna buy Inzer prong belt but then found Pioneer Cut Belt. More adjustable, I love it!
Before you launch the Strong Strong Supply version at least :)
check out Harbringer
Thank you!
spud inc has real good nylon belt with Velcro that are easy to use
Thanks for video meg! I really want to get Inhale from Strong Strong Supply! I've been wanting to purchase some but was afraid I wasn't 'hardcore enough' to have it. Again, you always inspire me to be the best version on myself and to be a strong lady!
Can’t go wrong with converse
Your knees sure can
It's not a lifting accessory per se, but one of my favourite gym accessories is my knobby lacrosse ball! Loved this! Thanks Meg! Next I'd like to see a video about gym bags! I can't find one I like.
Hey the bench blocks are $59.95 and $34.95 or $90.99 for set on amazon and there awesome.. 🏋️♀️ I would recommend them to lifters training alone
I'd love to see a video about when, why, and how to use different accessories, etc.
Awesome vid! I'll be sending a couple friends over to this one since they're only just getting into powerlifting. I keep telling them the old motto "don't have $100 shoes if you have a 10cent squat" and to focus on technique above all else.
Pleaseeee talk about belts, I’m not sure where to start but I know I’m going to need one soon.
Cali rolls was hoping for a demo, never heard of them! Curious I’ll have to check them out!
I think I hate my inzer lever belt, but it still looks new after heavy use. I kinda want a single prong.
pestyoverlord i have a single prong Inzer belt and i love it
Great video! Perfect timing. You gave me a kick to start spring cleaning in my "lifting
wardrobe" :)
Very useful video, thanks Meg :)

I'm an Olympic lifter. My faves are: lifters (Do Win), wrist wraps, liquid chalk, and (very rarely) a belt. 👌
Charity Bartz do you mean weightlifter? There is powerlifting and weightlifting, an Olympic lifter is a weightlifter who competes in the Olympics.
jizzypuff, I'm used to saying it that way because most people think anyone lifting a bar is a weightlifter. It's habit. It means I lift oly style. Thanks for commenting, though.
This was awesome! Thank you! Maybe a part two? How to use all of these in detail? Mostly I'm wondering about how to wrap wrist wraps properly haha.
What jacket are you wearing? Awesome vid. Thanks.
I just got into powerlifting. This was very helpful. Thank you!
I love how educational you are! I look forward to learning every time you post! :D
Hey Meg!! Great video :) Can’t wait to see your next train like a pro/inspo video! Very fun and entertaining!
Love your videos and makes me want to try to learn more and one day compete but unfortunately no place in my area
I'm not very interested in all this equipment stuff, but still enjoyed every second of the video. Megan, as always you are just delightful and pleasent to watch.

What a nice place to live. Beautiful house and area.
I dont know exactly where you live, but I think its Canada?
I've been in western Canada last September and I loved absolutely everything about it, although the climate and the winter is pretty hardcore.
Greets from germany.
I went on a 1.75 easy run yesterday. Hoping to keep that up every few days and make an effort at being a lil more in shape 😂😂😂
So helpful, Meg! I'm signing up for my first meet in June! A little stressful since I don't have a coach or a handler 😥
Could you do a review of versa grips or cobra grips. I find wrist straps a pain to get placed just so.
Omg Meg, you always give the best advice and suggestions!! 😊 I love your products because it’s affordable 👍🏼 and you also give out promo codes for discounts on things you use yourself! 😊 thanks for helping a broke college student out! 😂😁 btw your so beautiful 🧡

Recommendation guys, try and fill yourself and the products together, we could barely see the product you were sharing. but good video over all.
Lots of awesome things in this video. The ONE thing I wish I knew before I competed in my first meet last month is where that crop top was from 😂🙈 I knew about all the other goodies except for that one, and I would’ve looked like less of a mess had I known about it. Thx gf 😘😘
I had my baggy of chalk break open in my bag once 🤦♀️ now I keep my chalk in a rock climbing bag. 👍
Are the czech shoes Matulka? I didn't know if I heard correctly and I'm from the Czech republic, you see :D Never heard of them though and Google didn't help either, because I don't know if I got the name right!
Might look into the Sling Shot. I been stuck doing the same weights on my bench-press cause I dont have any friends to spot me so I am afraid to add more weight :( Great video!
can u do a video where u contract your knee muscles standing?
I had a cobbler make me a leather 4" at the back tapering to 3" at the front really strong belt brass buckle lasted all my lifting days for power lifting and weightlifting I also did the rings so had plenty of grip aslo the main thing in my life is music

Hi what's the best thing to buy for wrist pain when lifting heavy
I got zee straps, wrist wraps and chalk... still made a mess with the chalk 😂
Yes please do the belt video:)
All the quick cuts giving me whiplash DX
I would love to buy some of your stuff but dude, $60 shipping not including import tax is so goddamn expensive for a poor wee student like me.
The only solution is you must come and do a seminar at my gym in edinburgh and sell me and the girls there all the pink chalk
yeah i'd buy from SS co too, but UK import tax is ludicrous =(
Pioneer Fit makes really nice wrist straps and they're 7.95 AND they ship out super fast
This video was so helpful thank you Meg!!
Yes please belts for 5 min Friday! Really curious
I will die happy if you do an Amanda SIngs cover.
Fuck! I swear you read my mind. Im trying to get more serious about my lifting and i totally needed this video. Im trying to be on your level. Thanks girl.😊
Working in the oilfield in TX yet checkin out megs new gear!!! 👍🏼💪🏼
Yes! I love this video!! Thanks Meg!!
Working out in the oilfield in TX yet checkin out megs new gear!!! 👍🏼💪🏼
Love you Meg this video was super helpful!
Can you do a lululemon collection video!?
Do you have any suggestions for a 3 inch belt?? I own a 4 inch Inzer belt and I have very high hips so I get bruises constantly since the belt is hitting my ribs.
Inzer should have 3 and 2 inch options? Also check out Pioneer
I got a 3" belt from Pioneer. website at generalleathercraft.com

It's so hard to find a bench block that size. All the others are too big to carry in a bag and rely on someone else to hold while you bench. 👍👍
Does anyone know if megsquats has done one about buying barbells?
Pleaaaase do a video on belts!
Hey Meg check out the Nike air max 270 comfortable and awesome looking
if you have to use hand straps that means you can't have much power in your hands try lifting over 3 times your body weight in the dead lift one rep
Here's strong strong friend from Czech republic. It's nice to hear you like shoes from here. :)
I have a velcro belt but I got an Inzer belt for my birthday last year, but I have yet to use it because it feels way too heavy duty and sadly, I'm afraid I'll be judged for not lifting enough to warrant using it. 👍Luv Versa Grips easier on my wrist than straps. These are Fun videos to watch, Keep Crushing it Girl!!!
Ditch all of it except a good pair of lifting shoes. Converse are my favorite.
$55. That’s it.
I have a pair of romaleo 3's (way better than the 2's imo) and Asic matflex's for my DL's. $400 later it's a pretty good combo.
Great info, your in Canada 🇨🇦 you need to design a toque for all you cold cold friends.
Sorry ... you’r
what knickers are you throwing away eh
wow meg's your sitting or crouching four feet from snow huge snow ,, one day i gotta touch that stuff ...
if you don't compete, I don't think it matters if you have to use straps to hit your top single dl. I'd rather keep my arms in the same position for balance reasons.

very much agree.
also currently fangirling cause meg replied to my comment holy shit.
Can I lift without a belt in a meet?
Please teach us the correct way to brace...
Love your videos btw!

megsquats Thanks! Picked up Cali rolls from supply co a month back. Guess I’ll pick up some pink chalk now 😂
My black Inzer took 6 weeks. 😢
Ah you didn't include the callous repair kit * (* Also known as a first aid kit, but with some decent strapping tap so you can finish the set.)
StrongStrongSupply make crop tops to be worn under a singlet! Or normally!
I don't squat in shoes. Is that bad lol
Yes do a belt video
What’s a singlet
Blue liquid chalk?
Yesss 5MF on belts, I have no idea how to properly utilize them!
Also: have definitely been using the wrong shoes for 3 years. Whoooooops
Meg did you do the beginning of the video in a low squat position for 10 mins, would you ever cosplay as Laura Croft, and would you consider yourself an outdoors kinda person?..great video, gah damn you’re doin good, good job..
Do you ever squat with no shoes I find it way better than lifting shoes
Has anyone mentioned you look just like Emily Blunt!!! I adore you MEEEGGGGG!!!
Yes to belts
why you no lift?
I just joined a powerlifting/weight lifting type of gym and I'm 100% barefoot 90% of my workout... Especially when I deadlift.
Yay I like this Video Idea!!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
