MedusA A if she was trans that would be one thing, but your an ignorant troll trolling. What’s the point of saying ignorant stuff about someone that has a distinct positive message and goals. If a beautiful woman who works out hard to be strong and have natural curves with a healthy body fat, intimidates you than I suggest you check out the man in the mirror.

Yes! Agreed! All of the above and I liked the part around the 3:30 mark about professionals always working on technique - nobody is every 100% efficient. It's so easy to compare ourselves to others while we're in the gym I thought this was a great reminder!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU because if I hadn’t found your channel, I don’t think I ever would have started lifting. I never imagined that I would be in the gym squatting and deadlifting and I am in LOVE with it. Thank you thank you thank you.

For ladies out there who are afraid of the free weights section or walking up to the squat rack because it is usually dominated by men, here’s what i have to say: its all in your head!! I personally weight train and have seen all sorts of people at the gym. Guess what? The men there are just as clueless about weight training as you are! So don’t be afraid or self conscious and start weight training!!

Mobility is super underrated. When I was a beginner it felt as if everyone always focused so much on adding more weight. I didn't pay much attention to stretching and mobility work bc I felt like I should use that time to do more reps/sets.
Then I realise that every GOOD / respectable lifter I follow put mobility on high priority. Definitely wish I can go back to focus more on this earlier!

I have been lifting fairly consistently for 2 years...and I have made SO many mistakes. I was solely dedicated on losing weight when I first started my fitness journey so progressive overload wasn't even on my mind, now I feel inspired to actually begin weightlifting to actually get stronger. Especially seeing as I was just trying to look leaner and not focusing on performance... I'm excited to start!!

Wonderful tips, nothing to say. I would just add one more tip:
-try and perfectionate the routine that you personally enjoy the most. Loving what you do and being able to stick with the habit is more important than doing the perfect gym routine for three months and then let it go because you hate and don't enjoy it.

New sub! Last month, I just started going to the gym 3 times a week and have kept it up surprisingly after years of failed attempts. Im 29 204 lbs 5 3 and I ONLY do weights when I go. I’m top heavy so I hate cardio 😄Weight training was the only way I wouldn’t t dread going to the gym each day. I haven’t lost weight (still working out my meal plan) but I have lost inches 3 inches overall, it’s not much but it’s enough to keep me motivated to keep at it. Plus I feel much stronger, I’ve been progressive lifting💪🏽. I decided last week I will train like a baby power lifter lol so I’m super glad I found your channel.
I’ve always been reluctant to doing compound movements but something clicked when I saw this video and the gain strength lose weight vid. You’re so right, you’re getting more for your time by doing these! Thanks for the tips sis. Def going to start this. And by the way, You are so ssstupid gorgeous 😬 🥴🌹

... BUT always wanted to get in the gym, but to be honest... I feel so scared and lost. Being 5'1 and now 145 due to COVID isolation, the machines scare me, because I feel they are for bigger people and the weight room well living in guido central here in NJ shore.. lol... Totallllyyy intimidated. I joined the gym, because of you last week, been watching everything you have out there and I went today, but only did cardio like a hampster... I walked around lost, and even stared down the weight area, and said ... I will enter tomorrow... lol... terrified and lost.... this video PERRRRRRFECT timing.... I LOVE YOU!!!! I am on the Journey... I am looking to get anyone I know to get a lifting buddy but I cannot even get them to the yoga studio... so it is me and you... every day : ) much love... from Manalapan NJ ...Jules

Girl I live in Jersey and I FEEEEEEEEL you! haha
One thing I did to feel less intimidated was put my headphones in, turn up my music REALLY loudly, and keep my eyes focused on the floor or directly ahead of me. Biggest and hardest thing for me was to not make eye contact. The goal with this was to help me feel like I was the only one in the room, and it honestly worked!
I know this won't work for everyone, but after a few weeks in the gym I was able to look people in the eye and nod a "Hello" because I felt more like I belonged there. And we DO belong there! We just tend to get it in our heads that we don't lol. Best of luck!

Do you still recommend the protein to weight ratio for overweight individuals?

Hi new subscriber here and I guess beginner as well. I used to lift many years ago and just recently got back into it. Thanks for sharing your tips. I have a question. Can I lift in a fasted state? I've seen arguments for yes and no. Reason being first thing in the morning is the most convenient for me to go to the gym before starting my work day. But I am doing intermittent fasting and don't eat/drink anything before 9am.

I've taken body pump classes at my local YMCA and it's definitely a strength training class. You can progressively overload in those classes if you're consistent. I gained strength taking those classes a few years ago and it made me want to get more into lifting weights. I think it's a great way to get into strength training in a supportive environment. Plus there's an instructor so the program is set for you already and it's a full body workout which is great.

Great video! Newbie here- what do I do if I try to add an extra 10lbs to progress but can't lift it? Go back to last weeks weight but increase reps?

How much protein would be recommended for a woman who weighs 140 but does not know their lean muscle mass ?

Hmmm I’m recalling you saying in one of your videos that compound movements aren’t optimal ways to increase strength. Mind you, the focus was on mistakes made in gym for body composition-although debatably still applicable for this video of longterm effectiveness of training, despite *time* being longer with rests and isolating muscles. But overall, still faster in the long run! What do you think, Meg?
