My respect for Dr. Gundry just went way up for letting Dr. Gabrielle talk, and not interrupt her, while she talked highly of animal proteins, even though he probably disagrees with some of what she is saying. These are the scientific conversations we need more on, respecting fellow researchers. I listen to a lot of Dr. Gundry's videos and am a big believer in plants needing to be in our diet, but am also a defender of (quality) meat for our protein. Ground beef is a staple in my recovery, and I feel great with it, along with my salads.
She's a rare find, someone who actually knows what she's talking about rather than simply reading up on the studies of others as most 'experts' on utube do.

I loved this conversation between Drs Gundry and Lyon - They are both right and appreciated that Dr Lyon suggested combining their efforts - Their work is so very fluid - it will continue to evolve, but it is so much better than conventional medicine. I lost my mother to Dementia/Alzheimers and wish this information was available years ago.

I’m 65 years old, on no medications, and have been on the carnivore diet for the last 6 months. Cellulite gone, energy excellent skin improved, gout in big toe gone, arthritis only 10% of what it used to be. No sugar, no bread, rice no fruit, no vegetables….only animal products mainly meat. I don’t even crave any of the other the other stuff. I feel great doing what I’m doing.

Stopped carnivore, everything returned back to normal less than 48 hours. Same with Keto, after 2 weeks, gave up and back to Mediterranean diet as always before. Am good now. 70 years old, blood glucose stable at 85 fasting, 120 or less after 2 hours eating. Blood pressure daily measure around 117/76/65. I truly believe in fasting and exercise are the most important in our daily life. Take care and keep up .
I am 73 and every time I try to eat even a whole chicken breast I feel bloated and it feels like it takes a long time to digest. Do you have any such problem?
Respect for the discussion of polar views. I am disappointed though that what was not addressed in digestion topic, is the decrease in hydrochloric acid in aging and in great part responsible for undigested proteins, incomplete disgestion and constipation.
Thank you, I knew there was a difference between animal and plant protein, so in theory the amount of plants you have to eat to equal meat would result in oxalate overdose.
What I like about Dr. Gundry’s work is that muscle focused people are getting closer to applying some of the mechanics he uses and Dr. Gundry’s theory is a much more complete theory of metabolic disfunction. We have made such significant progress in observing and understanding biology the past few years, I think we really have an interesting future full of more interesting things to discover and understand.

Dr Gundry needs to deeply explain why he went dark about the heart inflammation he saw in long time patients after the you know what. He raised the alarm then nothing. Did they all of a sudden heal? What happened ?

protein powder can useful to add to your meal, and some powders , especially whey isolate are very well absorbed. little is lost in the digestion process
I’ve been on the tripeptide for almost a year and I’ve lost 45 pounds. And I just did my bone density which I haven’t done it since 2015. I don’t like to do any type of x-ray mammography whatever very much because it’s still radiation, sidenote.but my bone density is exactly the same as it was in 2015 that was my last bone density test so the Mounjaro/tripeptide has done nothing but good! I’m so grateful it was such a game changer when my body changed. My waist line went up starting in my mid 60s now I kept my figure up into 64….27 inch waist line. And yes I’ve had to work my whole adult life at keeping my figure and I did, but when it just started getting bigger, no matter what I did… Finally, even though I was not type to diabetic, but you don’t go from 27 inches on your waist line to 40 inches and not have insulin resistance I mean come on. So I have done really well with this.
Dr. Atkins NEVER even remotely said anything like, "The more protein you eat, the more muscles you will grow", and I never met anyone who thought that. People used to call the Atkins diet "high protein" but after reading his book, I decided that it was simply a carb-restricted diet. All Atkins said was, essentially, you could eat all the fat and protein you wanted and still lose weight. 10:50, or so.
She makes sense to me, because our closest relatives are Chimpanzees and are primarily meat eaters... And humans evolved eating what they could find; 10lbs of nuts isn't as good as 2lbs of fresh meat.
idiotic, without muscle you die early, all organs borrow material for re building at night from muscles you could argue it's possible if you are able to keep decent amount of lean mass until old age but you won't do it without weight lifting stimuli and adding enough protein to build it

Great video. So much to learn and to see. The overlap of good nutrition from a plant based and an animal based diet as pointed out by these two great doctors really helps the viewers understand what is important in your diet. I was doing almost a carnivore diet but I just didn't have enough energy to do my aerobic exercise. Lifting weights on a carnivore diet was really great but I couldn't run. Knowing what is important for protein helps me to get the rest of my macros in line. I thought peanut butter was a suitable protein but I was wrong.
Aha moment, severe brain fog after chasing a vegetarian Mediterranean diet Gundry recommends. Pursuing 100g of quality protein daily and I had moments of true clarity and real joy. Gundry lies to you. His advice is wrong in the extreme and its cruel that people like myself believed him for so many years.

Now, (and perhaps you consider this in the definition of eating meat) he speaks of how he eats a nice steak because hes from Wisconsin and loves his beef... every two months. He splits it with his wife. You need to see his more recent stuff to understand he has progressed his 'advice'. He did a huge marketing campaign after the mTOR study came out.. and he misrepresented it egregiously. Im assuming he sold some of his corporate rights that he now curtails the old message toward. Good luck with that..

I quit carbs and sugar and lost too much weight. I’ve worked with a dietician (I’m 67) and it took a year to gain the 9lbs I lost over a 7 month period. No time restriction. I’m afraid if I do that I’ll lose weight.
I commented earlier on my 10lb weight loss at age 63. Very little muscle. I’m struggling to gain it back and had to do as they say “Cheato”. Maybe I need to up my protein and do resistance exercises to keep muscle. And like you see a dietitian?
Excellent conversation! However, I prefer the recommendation of /Dr. Longo and Dr. Gundry. Higher protein - when not utilized by the body - will be converted to carbs and fats. At 70 male, I exercise REHIIT every day for muscle maintenance until 100 yo. No need for big muscles, which require higher protein intake, which may not all be metabolized
Why didn't your guest mention lamb protein? Lamb has one of if not the best amino acid profile closest to human amino acid profile in proportion and types of amino acid essential and non essential.
@blobmonster9494 Lamb tastes terrible when cooked with margarine or hydrogenated seed oils. If you bake a lamb shoulder chop using a reverse searing method you may change your mind about the flavor. Margarine or all hydrogenated seed oils except grape seed oil makes lamb have a real spoiled gamy smell and flavor. If you want to season the lamb chop use a slice of butter and the original Mrs. Dash / Dash. Or grape seed oil( should always be flavorless)or olive oil with Italian seasoning. A third spice option is by Spice Hunter called Chef Blend. A fourth seasoning option is Trader Joe's 21 seasoning salute. A spicier version of the 21 seasoning salute is Steak Seasoning by Marcum. Badia brand of Andrew Zimmerman Mediterranean Magic has the addition of mint. If you only want to use oregano, salt and pepper make sure you use Greek Oregano it has a sweet savory flavor that is totally different from the oregano people use in Tex Mex food or other Italian blends. It will be a good compliment to sweet Thai Basil. Some people also like the spice blend called Spike Original Seasoning because it has a sweet smell and flavor. If you don't want to use spices you can use mint jelly, a horseradish sauce of choice, Outback Steakhouse blooming onion sauce or Sweet Baby Ray Secret dipping sauce. Sweet Baby Ray'sauce is the closest thing to the Outback Steakhouse sauce that's premade. Hope these cooking tips are helpful.
I love Dr. Lyons and also Dr. Gundry. If I’m correct, their diet choices are quite different because Dr. Lyons consumes good sources of animal protein like bison.
I am not really follow with her opinion about vegetable protein, what she take examples of vegetable food are not the right food that should eat for protein. I ❤ peanuts 🥜 and I eat them everyday… I eat ground peanuts as my nut butter w no added oils salt or sugar … I eat peanuts in the shell w the red skins on! I will continue to eat peanuts because they are filling and delicious! I also eat meat and chickpeas… and fruit and broccoli 🥦 idk 🤷 don’t we need a variety!? That said, building muscle 💪🏻 is not easy after a certain age even w good food… 🍱 you do the best you can.
I tried the Atkins diet decades ago and lots 10 pounds in 7 days. One question I have here - The Dr. Atkins diet was only meant for people to lose weight. He clearly stated that when one starts reaching their goal is to slowly increasing carbs until one can maintain their weight.
The problem is carbs tend to cause more carb cravings. So some ppl gain easily once carbs are added to the diet. This is why many people stick to low carb indefinitely. No carbs=no cravings= no weight gain.
I had low levels or protein in my blood a few years ago so I started eating a high protein diet. I gained 20+ pounds of fat and my protein levels did not improve. I switched to the plant paradox way of eating to fix my gut. Since then I lost the extra weight and my protein levels are normal.
@@samlopez1013 I’m an active person who always gets plenty of exercise. That’s not really the point. For a long time I’ve had stubborn belly fat that never went away no matter how much I exercised. A couple of years ago a blood analysis showed that I had a low level of protein in my blood. Typical advice from doctors is to just eat more protein or drink protein shakes such as Ensure. Bad advice as those are usually high in carbohydrates. No matter how much protein I ate my levels did not improve. Then I starting listening to Dr. Gundry who has explained in many of his podcasts and books that the real problem is leaky gut. This makes it very hard to lose weight and also lead to malabsorption of protein among many problems. About a year ago I started following his advice on how to eat to repair my gut. Since then, I’ve lost about 40 pounds and my protein levels have gone up even though I eat less of it than I did a year ago.
Dr Gundry agrees with Dr Valter Longo that If you are below the age of 65, keep protein intake low (0.31 to 0.36 grams per pound of body weight). That comes to 40 to 47 grams of proteins per day for a person weighing 130 pounds, and 60 to 70 grams of protein per day for someone weighing 200 to 220 pounds. Dr. Lyon INCORRECTLY stated that Dr. Longo recommends 0.36 grams PER KILOGRAM and Dr. Gundry mistakenly agreed with her. She meant per pound. Her own diet plan recommends much more protein, which Dr. Gundry disagrees with. Why does he do interviews like this? It can be confusing.
I think they agreed on time restricted windows and cycling... But she has another video interview with Dr Hyman where she says to have three meals a day and every meal has to have animal protein with the portion of your hand palm....so it is confusing lol... But they are both great doctors and I respect them..

The amino acid composition and nutritional value of leaf protein is similar to milk protein, which is understandable since cows produce milk from the amino acids produced in their rumens by bacteria digesting the leaves the cows have eaten

India has a type 2 diabetes rate close to that of the U.S. so clearly many people are consuming too much carbohydrate. Lyons was vey clear that animal based protein is far superior to plant sources, not only in getting better amino acid profile but also in avoiding the huge amount of carbs that would have to be eaten in plant protein sources in order to get the necessary protein.

Well Dr. Lyon that is why vegans and vegetarians eat Soy Strips, Tofu and walnuts when they need to get more proteins to feed their muscles when doing high intensive exercise. Comparing Meat proteins with Quinoa proteins amount is in my view a complete nonsense as plant based diet is much more than that. WHO and American Food Organisation diet recommendations are the gold standard and they both recommend a 100% plant based diet. Dr. Lyon also forgets to mention the relation between cancer, cardiovascular disease and meat consumption which is indisputable by the whole scientific community.
Dr. Gundry talks about being sad that people quitting drugs like Ozempic gained back 50% of the weight they lost in three months. Has he never hear of low-carb? Has he never heard of Keto? Would he rather worry about the effects of Ozempic rather than have his patients eat meat and be healthy?
The very most important question ⁉️⁉️⁉️ to ask is are Bodybuilders long lived or short lived. Do the heavily muscle bound live long, or are the very slim underweight live long despite experiencing some muscle atrophy ???
@@milycome good question. A lot of body builders have higher blood pressure do to wanting to have all the extra muscles weight. I consider that a health risk. Personally only wanting to add limited muscle and drop weight as an offset. Then you have the body builders that want to take PED (performance enhancement drugs) that would not be me. I simply thought the medical community would say the same thing having the same data available.

as far as muscle mass connected with longevity yes but there is a point of diminishing returns. And yeah many of her references to vegan protein were high lectin low quality proteins
To get 2.5 gm Leucine, you can eat 100 gm chicken breast (165 calories) or 150 gm firm tofu (218 calories) or 500 gm soft tofu (365 calories). Conversion 1 lb equal about 453 gm. Both tofu and chicken contain all essential amino acids needed for humans. Therefore, you need to decide which is more accessible and less expensive. Chicken might have the lowest calories, but there are not enough pasture raised organic chickens in the world to feed everyone. So, tofu might be the better option. (the bad lectins should be reduced when soybean is converted to tofu)
Dr.Gabrille' s only focus seems to be eat protein from meat meat meat and meat............seriously there are so many plant based sources ,lentils and others that are much better protein sources than meat and way healthier than protein as they contain high fibre, minerals

There are also mammals like bears and they are very strong and very fast as well and they are omnivore but depending on the region they they are more or less herbivores and carnivores. @DT-wh4qr exactly, on the other hand, bears who are strong as F and are swift and fast, they will eat animal meat and the hibernate during winter time. Polar bears are also big and fast, and they eat everything that moves either in the water or on land that they can kill. And to be honest it's not as simple as saying that some of the biggest animals eat grass or plants only and thus we should do the same. It's a complex question as to what we should be eating and that is why to this day research is being done and people find more and more information, many times debunking other researches that were financed by certain industries. So simplifying is not an option.

Experts on protein 99% agree if you're getting 1.2g/kg the lower eaa in plants don't matter at all. Imagine saying that you'd need 1000kcal of quinoa to equate to a chicken breast 😂. We eat different foods all day some are low in certain eaa some are high it all evens out over time. We don't eat 1 eea source exclusively. So vegan bodybuilding is not a thing. It couldn't exist. Look at the funding in this Dr's lab you'll see who pays the bills

Many of The people in numerous blue zones are slim people yes? Many people in the long lived Loma Linda area are vegan as well. I tend to have more faith in the Blue Zone research and decades long clinical practices than I do many studies out there, but I dont discount them either. For muscle mass alone though I tend to agree animal protein is where it's at but not nessesarily Health/Longevity
I know that most all the blue zones include animal products. Some of them include a lot of meat. Loma Linda may be the only exception. Also, of all the long-lived ppl I know personally, none were vegan, or even vegetarian. 100% omnivore.🤷♀️

Dr. Gundry, I hope you read this comment. My appreciation for you as a person was bolstered watching some of your interview with Dr. Mike. He is like a lawyer in his tactics, and has so many contentions he didnt let you speak, and i felt that while he borders on disrespect, you calmly and amicably support hypotheses, correlations and conclusions without getting your feathers ruffled. He is so by the books that he leaves no room for hypotheses of his own. Your approach of both observing outcomes and asking questions where there may not be a study yet is forward thinking, and we need both Dr. Gs and Dr. Mikes in this world. Only, Dr. Mike could stand to step back and recognize the value in looking beyond peer reviewed published papers and asking far reaching questions of the existing data.

Muscle, B-vitmins increase and Amino acids like citrullie, + L-Arginine Glutamine, and BCAA's to go with Risistance Training youll grow, look and feel stronger
Eating protein alone not enough, must send the right signal to the body through strength training. Without strength training, the body won’t get the signal to increase muscle mass.
That's why our grandparents lived till their 80s and 90s. They were all day moving , contractring their muslces. Our generations are all rhe time sitting.

What I like about Dr. Gundry’s work is that muscle focused people are getting closer to applying some of the mechanics he uses and Dr. Gundry’s theory is a much more complete theory of metabolic disfunction. We have made such significant progress in observing and understanding biology the past few years, I think we really have an interesting future full of more interesting things to discover and understand.

protein powder can useful to add to your meal, and some powders , especially whey isolate are very well absorbed. little is lost in the digestion process

I’ve been on the tripeptide for almost a year and I’ve lost 45 pounds. And I just did my bone density which I haven’t done it since 2015. I don’t like to do any type of x-ray mammography whatever very much because it’s still radiation, sidenote.but my bone density is exactly the same as it was in 2015 that was my last bone density test so the Mounjaro/tripeptide has done nothing but good! I’m so grateful it was such a game changer when my body changed. My waist line went up starting in my mid 60s now I kept my figure up into 64….27 inch waist line. And yes I’ve had to work my whole adult life at keeping my figure and I did, but when it just started getting bigger, no matter what I did… Finally, even though I was not type to diabetic, but you don’t go from 27 inches on your waist line to 40 inches and not have insulin resistance I mean come on. So I have done really well with this.
Dr. Atkins NEVER even remotely said anything like, "The more protein you eat, the more muscles you will grow", and I never met anyone who thought that. People used to call the Atkins diet "high protein" but after reading his book, I decided that it was simply a carb-restricted diet. All Atkins said was, essentially, you could eat all the fat and protein you wanted and still lose weight. 10:50, or so.
She makes sense to me, because our closest relatives are Chimpanzees and are primarily meat eaters... And humans evolved eating what they could find; 10lbs of nuts isn't as good as 2lbs of fresh meat.

I was doing almost a carnivore diet but I just didn't have enough energy to do my aerobic exercise. Lifting weights on a carnivore diet was really great but I couldn't run. Knowing what is important for protein helps me to get the rest of my macros in line. I thought peanut butter was a suitable protein but I was wrong.
Aha moment, severe brain fog after chasing a vegetarian Mediterranean diet Gundry recommends. Pursuing 100g of quality protein daily and I had moments of true clarity and real joy. Gundry lies to you. His advice is wrong in the extreme and its cruel that people like myself believed him for so many years.

Now, (and perhaps you consider this in the definition of eating meat) he speaks of how he eats a nice steak because hes from Wisconsin and loves his beef... every two months. He splits it with his wife. You need to see his more recent stuff to understand he has progressed his 'advice'. He did a huge marketing campaign after the mTOR study came out.. and he misrepresented it egregiously. Im assuming he sold some of his corporate rights that he now curtails the old message toward. I quit carbs and sugar and lost too much weight. I’ve worked with a dietician (I’m 67) and it took a year to gain the 9lbs I lost over a 7 month period. No time restriction. I’m afraid if I do that I’ll lose weight.
I commented earlier on my 10lb weight loss at age 63. Very little muscle. I’m struggling to gain it back and had to do as they say “Cheato”. Maybe I need to up my protein and do resistance exercises to keep muscle. And like you see a dietitian?
I started pilates 5 times a week in July and I’m staying stable weight wise and seeing muscles…

Excellent conversation! However, I prefer the recommendation of /Dr. Longo and Dr. Gundry. Higher protein - when not utilized by the body - will be converted to carbs and fats. At 70 male, I exercise REHIIT every day for muscle maintenance until 100 yo. No need for big muscles, which require higher protein intake, which may not all be metabolized
Why didn't your guest mention lamb protein? Lamb has one of if not the best amino acid profile closest to human amino acid profile in proportion and types of amino acid essential and non essential.

@blobmonster9494 Lamb tastes terrible when cooked with margarine or hydrogenated seed oils. If you bake a lamb shoulder chop using a reverse searing method you may change your mind about the flavor. Margarine or all hydrogenated seed oils except grape seed oil makes lamb have a real spoiled gamy smell and flavor. If you want to season the lamb chop use a slice of butter and the original Mrs. Dash / Dash. Or grape seed oil( should always be flavorless)or olive oil with Italian seasoning. A third spice option is by Spice Hunter called Chef Blend. A fourth seasoning option is Trader Joe's 21 seasoning salute. A spicier version of the 21 seasoning salute is Steak Seasoning by Marcum. Badia brand of Andrew Zimmerman Mediterranean Magic has the addition of mint. If you only want to use oregano, salt and pepper make sure you use Greek Oregano it has a sweet savory flavor that is totally different from the oregano people use in Tex Mex food or other Italian blends. It will be a good compliment to sweet Thai Basil. Some people also like the spice blend called Spike Original Seasoning because it has a sweet smell and flavor. If you don't want to use spices you can use mint jelly, a horseradish sauce of choice, Outback Steakhouse blooming onion sauce or Sweet Baby Ray Secret dipping sauce. Sweet Baby Ray'sauce is the closest thing to the Outback Steakhouse sauce that's premade. Hope these cooking tips are helpful.

I ❤ peanuts 🥜 and I eat them everyday… I eat ground peanuts as my nut butter w no added oils salt or sugar … I eat peanuts in the shell w the red skins on! I will continue to eat peanuts because they are filling and delicious! I also eat meat and chickpeas… and fruit and broccoli 🥦 idk 🤷 don’t we need a variety!? That said, building muscle 💪🏻 is not easy after a certain age even w good food… 🍱 you do the best you can.

I tried the Atkins diet decades ago and lots 10 pounds in 7 days. One question I have here - The Dr. Atkins diet was only meant for people to lose weight. He clearly stated that when one starts reaching their goal is to slowly increasing carbs until one can maintain their weight.
The problem is carbs tend to cause more carb cravings. So some ppl gain easily once carbs are added to the diet. This is why many people stick to low carb indefinitely.
No carbs=no cravings= no weight gain.

I had low levels or protein in my blood a few years ago so I started eating a high protein diet. I gained 20+ pounds of fat and my protein levels did not improve. I switched to the plant paradox way of eating to fix my gut. Since then I lost the extra weight and my protein levels are normal.

@@samlopez1013 I’m an active person who always gets plenty of exercise. That’s not really the point. For a long time I’ve had stubborn belly fat that never went away no matter how much I exercised. A couple of years ago a blood analysis showed that I had a low level of protein in my blood. Typical advice from doctors is to just eat more protein or drink protein shakes such as Ensure. Bad advice as those are usually high in carbohydrates. No matter how much protein I ate my levels did not improve. Then I starting listening to Dr. Gundry who has explained in many of his podcasts and books that the real problem is leaky gut. This makes it very hard to lose weight and also lead to malabsorption of protein among many problems. About a year ago I started following his advice on how to eat to repair my gut. Since then, I’ve lost about 40 pounds and my protein levels have gone up even though I eat less of it than I did a year ago.

Dr Gundry agrees with Dr Valter Longo that If you are below the age of 65, keep protein intake low (0.31 to 0.36 grams per pound of body weight). That comes to 40 to 47 grams of proteins per day for a person weighing 130 pounds, and 60 to 70 grams of protein per day for someone weighing 200 to 220 pounds. Dr. Lyon INCORRECTLY stated that Dr. Longo recommends 0.36 grams PER KILOGRAM and Dr. Gundry mistakenly agreed with her. She meant per pound. Her own diet plan recommends much more protein, which Dr. Gundry disagrees with. Why does he do interviews like this? It can be confusing.
I think they agreed on time restricted windows and cycling... But she has another video interview with Dr Hyman where she says to have three meals a day and every meal has to have animal protein with the portion of your hand palm....so it is confusing lol... But they are both great doctors and I respect them..
I replayed the video, Dr Lyon got it correct, she did not quote anything wrong, but she quote twice in the interview , the second time she quote wrong, so it should just be a careless mistake

India has a type 2 diabetes rate close to that of the U.S. so clearly many people are consuming too much carbohydrate. Lyons was vey clear that animal based protein is far superior to plant sources, not only in getting better amino acid profile but also in avoiding the huge amount of carbs that would have to be eaten in plant protein sources in order to get the necessary protein.

Well Dr. Lyon that is why vegans and vegetarians eat Soy Strips, Tofu and walnuts when they need to get more proteins to feed their muscles when doing high intensive exercise. Comparing Meat proteins with Quinoa proteins amount is in my view a complete nonsense as plant based diet is much more than that. WHO and American Food Organisation diet recommendations are the gold standard and they both recommend a 100% plant based diet. Dr. Lyon also forgets to mention the relation between cancer, cardiovascular disease and meat consumption which is indisputable by the whole scientific community.
Dr. Gundry talks about being sad that people quitting drugs like Ozempic gained back 50% of the weight they lost in three months. Has he never hear of low-carb? Has he never heard of Keto? Would he rather worry about the effects of Ozempic rather than have his patients eat meat and be healthy?

Personally only wanting to add limited muscle and drop weight as an offset. Then you have the body builders that want to take PED (performance enhancement drugs) that would not be me. To get 2.5 gm Leucine, you can eat 100 gm chicken breast (165 calories) or 150 gm firm tofu (218 calories) or 500 gm soft tofu (365 calories). Conversion 1 lb equal about 453 gm.
Both tofu and chicken contain all essential amino acids needed for humans. Therefore, you need to decide which is more accessible and less expensive. Chicken might have the lowest calories, but there are not enough pasture raised organic chickens in the world to feed everyone. So, tofu might be the better option. (the bad lectins should be reduced when soybean is converted to tofu)

It's a complex question as to what we should be eating and that is why to this day research is being done and people find more and more information, many times debunking other researches that were financed by certain industries. Many of The people in numerous blue zones are slim people yes? Many people in the long lived Loma Linda area are vegan as well. I tend to have more faith in the Blue Zone research and decades long clinical practices than I do many studies out there, but I dont discount them either. For muscle mass alone though I tend to agree animal protein is where it's at but not nessesarily Health/Longevity
I know that most all the blue zones include animal products. Some of them include a lot of meat. Loma Linda may be the only exception.
Also, of all the long-lived ppl I know personally, none were vegan, or even vegetarian. 100% omnivore.🤷♀️

He is like a lawyer in his tactics, and has so many contentions he didnt let you speak, and i felt that while he borders on disrespect, you calmly and amicably support hypotheses, correlations and conclusions without getting your feathers ruffled. He is so by the books that he leaves no room for hypotheses of his own. Your approach of both observing outcomes and asking questions where there may not be a study yet is forward thinking, and we need both Dr. Gs and Dr. Mikes in this world. Only, Dr. Mike could stand to step back and recognize the value in looking beyond peer reviewed published papers and asking far reaching questions of the existing data.

There's no one method fits all to everyone. That's why human have unique DNA. I tried everything, from keto to carnivore. None work for me. I tried by curiosity to find the best for my health but I am healthy, no prescriptions, no vaccines of any kind, exercise religiously and fasting daily. Like everyone we constantly research and do the best we can. After 3 weeks carnivore, my body developed weird reactions, not seriously but kinda scary. Stopped carnivore, everything returned back to normal less than 48 hours. Same with Keto, after 2 weeks, gave up and back to Mediterranean diet as always before. Am good now. 70 years old, blood glucose stable at 85 fasting, 120 or less after 2 hours eating. Blood pressure daily measure around 117/76/65. I truly believe in fasting, exercise and eating a proper diet are the most important in our daily life. Take care and keep up .
