This will be an easy way for non-islanders to get land in HI for cheap.
Not a good deal if not allowed to rebuild. The clean up and repairs will be costly. Investing in a destroyed condo is a VERY bad idea. A condo investor owns a share of the land and zoning rights, but also a share of the pending reconstruction costs. It's a VERY BAD investment. It's better to buy AFTER all the reconstruction. The magnitude of destruction is too high, and the burned debris/ash is toxic, requiring expensive removal (can trigger disposal lawsuits). Water and sewer pipes need to be rebuilt, and power lines too. And no public works timeline is available. So after waiting 7-10 yrs for the clean up and construction, the condo owner might not have water, sewer or electricity (some or none). Real estate agents would be liable for not disclosing any problems. And Lahaina has too many problems, that's why realtors stay away. Investing in a condo that might never be rebuilt is stupid.
But what if they have the money and materials to rebuild.
Sounds like it would take billionaires to pay for it and rebuild and put up resorts to me 🧐

Right about what? Any disaster where you have under insured people causes a land grab. That's no conspiracy, that's called life.
Conspiracy is a chargeable crime. In my opinion this was a case of criminal conspiracy, murder for hire, arson, grand larceny and several other crimes that may have been committed.
The wealthy that could be behind it may meet every year at Davos and simple folk like King Charles, Larry Fink and Klaus Schwab puppeteering our out of state Governor UN Green and Police Chief/Coroner who coincidentally was watch command of the worst shooting in US history before here for worst fire.
Motives, means opportunity and the same suspects investigating themselves a lot of suspicious coincidences that would be great to be investigated by independent citizens or police…However that is currently almost impossible to happen as a few funds own almost every large company don’t see any justice barring a peaceful mass awakening and most are too divided and distracted to come together and work on solutions.

Many who live in Lāhainā and Kula like myself have believed Governor Green who declared an emergency declaration weeks prior to the fire suspending 7 laws related to development, Chief/Corner Pelletier here for worst fire in US history and previously called leading response to the worst shooting in US history “his greatest professional achievement” are working for trillionaire developers who have wanted to buy land that generational locals would never sell at any price.
How does purchasing property from a willing party make you greedy?

Honestly, the vast majority of people living in Lāhainā aren’t Hawaiian soooo.
Note everyone can hang on for the "big" settlement. I would not as the last settlement took 30 years to payout.
Now can you sell ? The apartment is gone ? What do apartment owners own an inch of land ? This is a mess . What is the actual value today not what it was but what it is ? How much property tax are they all paying now ? People can not wait 10 years to have a home . These is devastating to the victims . What is Governor Green doing to protect the victims ? He said this would not happen.

This realtor is a liar. In Paradise California(the camp fire) developers bought it up. Pennies on the dollar today those houses sell for 200-300% more.
