I am starting to realize that it does hurt Myers around indoor maps to get a stalk around so many corridors. To fix this issue here, I would make it so that the debuff of stalking only applies if Myers is moving while stalking, so let's say he comes around the corner at 5 feet from a survivor working on a gen in Larry's, and if he stands still watching them then can stalk them faster. That's my opinion that he should get.
I mean, it honestly aint that bad unless you want to go for tombstone or infinite t3. But those werent good on indoor maps anyway. Besides, the indoor maps also have the benefit that every loop has holes, so you're always stalking, something that outdoor maps dont have. I genuinely dont consider the 0.4 rate an issue, especially since besides tombstone, you want the stalk speed addons anyway.
I did some math. Assuming old stalk is 6s at 2.5m and 60s at 39.85m and new stalk 15s at 2.5m and 6s at 39.85m These two lines intersect at 7.84m with 13.71s. So anything closer than roughly 8 meters got nerfed, while anything further got massively buffed.
So really it only hurts you on indoor maps, and even then it has to be compact indoor maps Lerys or Midwich, and then some specific parts of RPD, Gideon, etc. otherwise, your breaking even or even better than the concurrent Myers.
Your calculation is just blatantly not correct, i don't know what equations you used, the distance upon which it gets buffed is 16 metres, both then needing 9.4 seconds to rank up. Considering you stalk survivors only from 16 metres and up then it gets massively buffed, reaching even a 150% buff in overall stalk time. If you stalk survivors less than 16 metres from you even then its only around a 33% nerf. I think having a 150% buff at longer distances is greatly better than a 33% nerf for closer distances, it only depends on the map you are playing on.
@@BaronSterlingya I hear a lot of people saying that from the UK. I think it’s really dumb to call zero “naught or not”. Like just call zed if anything. Not a big deal though, just kinda funny
Yes in Indoor maps it´s a Nerf but in almost every ohter maps it´s a giant buff. In the Live Servers you hade 2 Options 1. Stalk from the far on to of a Building or somewhere else a Surv woudn´t see you (Please don´t do this) 2. Walking right next to the Surv and Stalk him from ther to gain max Stalk Points but then the Surv will see you and run away + Block line of side what also take you more Time to Tier up. With the New Stalk you can Stalk them sometimes from your Spawn point and get insanely fast out of Tier 1 and 99 your Tier 3 what gives you a bit better Early game and it´s WAY harder for a Surv to Spot you from 40m away what means they don´t run away and Block line of side and you can get theTier 3 99% faster. The min Stalk points is now 0.4 so even if your Stalking mid chase you can get your Stalk Points (As long your not at 0%) so on smaller Loops you can Stalk them to 99%. 7:30 This is somthing that would be a Deathe sentens for you and you should NEVER do this with the new Myers. You Stalk from far and than walk up to the Surv. You don´t go to them and Stalk them mid Chase, you Stalk them befor that until your at 99% and than walk to them and pop your Tier 3 When your Standing next to them.
As a myers main I played about 20hrs on the ptb messing with myers and as bad as close stalking is this is easily a buff. I needed to take 1 aura perk like bbq, lethal, alien instinct etc, and with Myers stealth even on indoor maps I was always able to prep a T3 when I needed it with AND without stalking speed add ons. The nerf is that if you try to stalk mid chase you're actually throwing. If you stick to a chase you're M1 man or you have a pocketed T3 theres no room for middle ground. Even as cramped as Lerys is with some stealth A single stealth perk like monitor, unforeseen, trail of torment, or furtive you can pretty much always set up a good place to stalk to at least get 25-30% progress on a survivor. You need to adjust you playstyle to more hit and run if you can't get nice long distance stalks. The only playstyle that's truly nerfed is Tuft-Tombstone. It has a hell of a time getting off the ground and honestly i'm okay with that. Tuft-Tombstone has always felt like an abomination to me and really messes with game balance with sometimes little effort from the killer. A perma instakill T3 should only be feasible to pop at 1 or 0 gens remaining and that seems like where this balance has taken the build on a lot of maps.
agreed on all the points honestly, and i'm down for myers being a lot more reliable at stalking from a distance (besides it feeling more in theme) and not running out of power also rather than relying on those iri add ons (i don't think any killer should be balanced around the iri add ons honestly....). Now survivors won't start blocking your line of sight as soon too which is huge
They did not fully reverse it to 0.1 when up close so it's a buff at overall ranges although you have to play him differently and they raised his skill floor and skill ceiling bc it's now more challenging to 99% a stalk.
This logic doesn't really work because stalking at some ranges can be more difficult than at other ranges. While this case does seem to be overall a buff, stalking up close is a lot easier than stalking from a distance generally as while the survivor may not be aware, if they are aware they can very easily stay behind cover, compared to if you are up close and can easily follow them around cover. Even an overall number buff would be a nerf if it turned out that stalking up close was a lot easier to reliably do than it is from afar.
@somekinnn the overall 0.3 number buffs makes up for the downside . Outdoor maps which are generally regarded as his weakest maps become much stronger and indoor maps become less strong but still fairly balanced . My biggest gripe though is tombstone can be farmed off of obsession and unavoidable with play with your food stacks. His add ons have always been some of the most powerful in the game considering how weak his base kit is.
It's objectively not a buff at all ranges. There is a literal side by side stalking from point blank and me moving backwards at 4:42 showing it's objectively worse at close range on the PTB than it is on live. It didn't get put to 0.1 no, but 0.4 is still 60% lower than the 1 it is currently at on live.
@@sesawter4999 It's a massive nerf. The only thing not completely offset by the findings above is the increased move speed in T1. Everything else is just making up for this change, and I'm not even sure it succeeds.
I don’t see this as a problem. You just have to play Myers in a different way now. Stalk from afar, don’t try to stalk while looping, m1 them and then stalk since they will try to get distance from you
it's a buff 100%. anthing beyond being stright up in the survivors face (7-8 meters) was masively buffed. i can only imagine it being a nerf on something like hawkins
I used to be a Michael Myers jumped air killer and I was really good at it and then they NERFED him to all hell and now I can’t do that anymore because whenever I play as Michael, it’s like everyone is wise to my tricks and it’s fucking annoying like now we hear him breathing. We never used to hear him breathe when we were playing as him. And a lot of the time I’m trying my best I really am but you know what happens when I play is Michael the game put me in open area like you know Plainfield, whatever where people can see me and I can’t do my stick
I do not like the update. I prefer original Myers. Yes it’s more “lore accurate” to stalk from afar but this is a video game. It’s a lot more intense to realize Myers has been secretly stalking you from around the corner than from afar. Yes there are challenges playing Myers and he’s really add on dependent. But now it’s just gonna incentivize keeping close to him which makes him less scary as survivor and less fun as killer (i think). Sometimes, I just wish they’d not touch killers that don’t TRULY need touching.
I understand that they want him to be the stalker as in the films. But that slowdown from upclose is very notisable. Becausetoo many times, survivors just hide behind walls and wait. So you have no other option than to get to them. And the chase starts, and in chase you will get stalk SO SLOW it's not even funny. I don't understand why he need this stalking penalty to begin with. Ghostface is a stalker too and he don't have that problem, so why should Myers have it?
Your live action bar graph makes absolutely no sense, but it is simultaneously the most simple and easy thing to understand… so congratulations? I guess I can’t conceptualize how this makes sense
Thank fuck they didn't remove/change Fragrant Tuft of Hair and Judith's Tombstone. The more challenge to pull it off will only make the insta-kills all the more satisfying to achieve. It does suck that he's more add-on dependant now than he was b4. But, Killers are used to this.
