I have one of these. Paid $160 for it with a coupon. It does what I need it to do, and it does it well. It runs my TV and soundbar in my RV, charges our phones and tablets. It supplements my RV solar system and I know it's limits. It also can go on our tent camping trips and provide power for our needs. It works well with my Ham Radio excursions. I have larger power stations and use them when needed. When this is all I need, I use it.
Yep, same here. I bought an expensive ecoflow river and it blew after 1 year and 1 week. Ecoflow has a one-year warranty and wouldn't honor their product even tho it wasn't my fault. The 5-year warranty is worth its weight in gold with this Predator unit. Its ALOT more durable too. The larger units will be out in January and I may buy one of those for larger wattage gadgets. I'm very happy with my unit.
You mentioned the ability to purchase the extended warranty and swap it out in-store during the coverage period, but having purchased two units already, I can tell you that at the moment, that is not an option: the cashier mentioned each time that no extended warranty was available, but that it does have a 5-year limited warranty. Of course they may change that in future, but as of yesterday no extended warranty is available. Considering, though, that they still don't have these on the shelf and they haven't received any planogram for these, it's possible they were rushed out in time for the holidays without all the extras in place in their systems. It's worth mentioning that today (12/15/'24) anyone can get 10% off (or Inside Track Club members can get 20%) off any single item such as this--just ask an employee to check the system and/or stockroom because you won't find them on the sales floor.
Good to see them allowing more than 160 watts from the 12v socket.... I wish Bluetti Anker and Ecoflow would do the same! Been asking them for years to allow enough wattage to power a diesel heater (150 watts). This is a good model for a first gen, them testing the waters 👍 next gen will get better!
Kudos to Harbor Freight for upping their game. It's great to see they've entered the market with a good all around unit. I do a lot of off grid solar and these small portable units are great to have, they're easy to carry and offer better functionality overall than large sketchy lithium ion battery banks. Additionally unlike some units that use lithium ion this has lifepo4 batteries, virtually 10 year plus lifespan to 80% dod, nice feature. The only negative is it's slightly higher price tag vs one's on that jungle place. However being able to buy it in person and having the excellent customer service of Harbor Freight spending a little extra goes a long way. I look forward to getting a couple of these.
Correct ! It does say 4 hours hence when I tested that I was disappointed in such a slow AC charge speed Not bad for a first run but now they know they have to improve some things if they wanna keep up
I use the Bluetti App all the time, especially for charging. When the sun is out, I usually charge several power stations, one right after the other. Faster charging is better. I own three EB3as and two AC180s.
I appreciate all the information! I would like to add a little of my own experience if I may? I recently purchased this unit specifically as a backup power source for my CPAP. I use a ResMed Airsense 11. I do not use the humidity function, just air. I was able to get two 8 hour nights of sleep on a single charge using the 120v plug. At the end of the 2nd night, the unit was down to about 20% charge left and would not have made it a 3rd night, but this was adequate for my needs. You made a couple of references that this will not run a CPAP, i just wanted to share that i believe it will, at least under some circumstances! Thanks again for the review.
Interesting m. So you have a predator 350 power station ? What is the watt draw on your cpap? Is it relatively new? I know the newer ones seem to be getting more efficient.
@@johnnysweekends Yes, I just purchased the Predator 350 Power Station, just like the one you reviewed in this video. My AirSense 11 is a couple of years old. It is a little hard to tell the watt draw because it rapidly fluctuates with each breath in and out. It drops to roughly 7 watts breathing in and maybe as much as 25 watts on each breath out (or vice versa). This made the estimated run time a little hard for it to calculate. At the end of night one or 8 hours, it had 64% battery remaining and then at the end of night two, it had roughly 22% remaining. For me, this was exactly what I purchased it for. In the event of power failure at home, or if traveling by car, I can bring it along just in case as well to run a CPAP or anything else it is capable of. I am looking forward to Harbor Freight releasing the new matched solar panel to go with it. I am new to the power station world, but I have had Predator gas generators in the past and they are still running!
@@solinvictus6424 don't forget: if you pay full price at harbor freight you're a fool. That said, personally I think these little generators are meh at best.
Can't wait for you to test the bigger boys. So far.. I'm not impressed with other brands much more superior, but I know this unit is like the EcoFlow River. Regarding parts replacement. A word of caution, HB a lot of times DO NOT carry many of the parts on those parts lists. I once bought a compactor from them. I had to get some replacement parts for it. All they had available for parts was the throttle cable assembly, and nothing else. So you might be SOL if you need parts for this.
I used BLUETTI EB3A, but later changed to Anker C300x because they have both Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities. I use 3 for rebooting my modem, access point and WiFi extender. The modem I set do it with BT because when rebooting the modem, the WiFi is not available and the ac button doesn’t happen after losing WiFi. The Anker is a small tank!
Evoflow river 2 w solar panel $179….1 hr charge , 10 yr warranty, and the best company on the market. Only people that are regularly buying HF junk will want this and claim it’s great.
I get 3 Harbor Freight coupons emailed to me every day. If they had a huge discount on this little guy, I might consider it. Maybe. 🤔. Nice review, Johnny!
They are late as they watched what the competitors offered. My ecoflow blew afrer 1 year and 1 week and they would NOT honor a replacement. The 5 year warranty is worth it! I bought mine for $160. $70 less than my ecoflow unit that is approximately the same size.
Being fixable thats huge!!!! I looked at these predators I wonder if you could upgrade those mppt charge controllers? Its the only thing I don't like about them.
@@johnnysweekends Yup people get so caught up with the battery life aspect however other things can break as well. Especially when you buy bigger systems that really cost this means a lot. I am not buying a 20,000 dollar system and not being able to replace parts.

The bad thing is none of these Predator power stations have MPPT solar tracking on the solar charge input. Most of the competition does... because of this 30% of the solar panels power is wasted. It was cheaper to manufacture. They are hoping nobody notices. I will never buy one.

Yup a few changes and they could really get in the game.
Especially with the parts listings and parts diagram. That’s cool!
@johnnysweekends and in person warranty support!
As always, awesome video. This gives me Jackery 290 vibes with the lack of features and slow charging.
@@chancejensen9324 my immediate thought was that they repackaged the 290 go try and sell under a different name. With HF selling both.
