For as long as I've been researching reef tanks (2 years now, money and space as well as the missus are obstacles) I've absolutely loved hawkfish. Great to see you have 3 different kinds of them living together without much fuss.
I really enjoyed this video. Although I love how Ryan and yourself compete to who has the best choice in fish and coral, you certainly have a great variety in your tank
Nice. The fish is why I’m in the hobby …. obviously. My regal is still young and I hope it develops yours colors! Glad you don’t have aggression issues with that mystery but they are great pest eaters.
@@rhombifer566 how about the glass? I’m growing Stylocenia on my glass as we speak video proof and all. So many people tell me it’s not possible, I just laugh in their face as I show it to them If coralline algae can take hold, so can everything else
Hey Reef Dork I have been away from the hobby for a long time and have just got back into it, could you please reply and tell me which feeder you are using for the frozen Mysis, cheers ☺️
Awesome rundown - the whitetail killing fairies makes me not want to get one of those (or a tomini) tangs... just love my fairies and flashers. Your regal was captive bred? So stunning. I'd love one but captive bred I think will go after SPS polyps and how do you know if they are the bright yellow belly variety. This is the first one I have seen successfully grown out a bit. Great selection - I need a hawkefish. My geometric has also disappeared - urrrghh
He might have had worms, or I might just not have been feeding him the right foods. He was always quite chunky but became thin over several months. I don't feed nori so it's possible that was the problem and that there wasn't enough algae in the tank to sustain him.
Great video. Slightly unrelated Q for you. I’m setting up a 425XL and am thinking of going with blades only ( either 2 x 39” coralgrow or 2 + 1 coralglow). Good idea ? which would you go for ?
I have no experience with them so can't really say. I prefer to use strip lights as fill lights and I think they look a little funny on their own. But in 12 months' time, there'll be more reviews/comments on them so it'll be a bit easier to gauge them then.
Because only freshwater evaporates, leaving salt behind. So if you replace evaporated water with saltwater (instead of the usual freshwater) it'll slowly increase your salinity.
Great video mate👍 I think you'll definitely have issues with the mystery wrasse once he gets some size to him. They will not tolerate any other wrasse in the tank whatsoever. He'll probably be fine with other fish but definitely will not play well with any other wrasse. Think of a 5 inch six line on steroids 😂
@@ReefDorkXtra okay that makes more sense , I was actually thinking about upgrading my 40 gallon breeder to a custom tank with those exact measurements, My tank has been running for 3 months and already I wanna upgrade lol , I am keeping it safe by only housing a maximum of 6 fish 1. Coral beauty 2. Regal Angel 3. Midas blenny 4. Clown fish 5. Dragonet 6. Valentini puffer And a nice clean up crew of blood red cleaner shrimp, star fish and emerald crabs
Correct - got bullied to death. Kole would chase him ruthlessly if he came out, so the Naoko just stayed in his cave all day, cowering. Tried to catch the tang in a trap but he wasn't interested...
@@ReefDorkXtra unlucky:( My flasher wrasse died of the same cause he was getting bullied by my Midas blenny lol and then had a bacterial infection from the wounds.

I have a longnose and a flame together, they're best friends!

Yeah, the streams are good fun and all that but we all know who REALLY has the best taste 😎
All that monti growth really is something else, an absolute rainbow of colours, amazing stuff.
Great to see you are as interested in your fish as you are your corals!
Great video and commentary and a brilliant way to show all your fish in the tank.
Very beautiful and natural looking aquarium. The number of fish is perfect and relaxing to watch. None are pacing like a caged lion. Excellent.
Awesome video love the tank!
13:10 turns out he was just hiding for a few months - I still have this goby 2 years later 🙂

The flame hawk fish are so cool!
Finally, someone else who puts frags on the overflow!!
😅
I have for years

Thank you for answering the question, currently cycling my tank will pick and choose a couple 😎
Absolutely love the Regal Angel fish, I think that's my dream fish. 🔥 They look like such a friendly bunch. 👍
very nice tank and you gave the history is what's even better
What kind of feeder do you have for your copper band
Hey Reef Dork I have been away from the hobby for a long time and have just got back into it, could you please reply and tell me which feeder you are using for the frozen Mysis, cheers ☺️
i love your tank! Can you make a little tour for your scape??
How do the zoas take the same par the sps are taking? I thought they like lower lighting. They look so healthy.
I've always found zoas do very well in high light - in my tank, they stretch up if they get too little light.
You have very nice selection of fish in your reef 🪸 tank bravo 👏

No, he was wild caught. I did want a captive bred one though originally.
@@ReefDorkXtra I think wild is MUCH better if they acclimate - lucky!
Hi, can I ask how you stuck your coral yo your overflow box. Regards Steve
I used 3D printed 45 degree angle frag plug holders from Reefparts.co.uk
Awesome video has me excited for my future tank upgrade
Hi, what frozen feeder do use? Think it's such a good idea and am keen to get one. Thanks
It came with the aquarium cover which is made by London Aquatic Design
Can I ask where you get your Zoas from. I am from the UK and can’t find bright coloured zoas anywhere?
Various places. Ultimate Reef classifieds section mainly. I sell mine on here from time to time and Prestige Reef has most of mine too.
Good video. Can you comment more on dietary problems with the Foxface?

Lovely fish! What happened to the naoko? I've thought about a starry blenny, but think they might get a bit too large!
He was one of the wrasses that got bullied to death by the white tail 😔
@@ReefDorkXtra ah sorry to hear that!
I have been looking for Vlogs on the Black Nox Angelfish. I think you should do a Vlog on that fish.
Question, can you tell us why you put salt water in your ATO container?
Because only freshwater evaporates, leaving salt behind. So if you replace evaporated water with saltwater (instead of the usual freshwater) it'll slowly increase your salinity.

Nice selection of fish 👌
This should be on your main channel
So wait you have a 48x24x24 and that's only 80/90 gallons? Shouldn't those measurements equal around 120 gallons
Mine's about 110 after displacement

Hi! I hope my comment will be noticed! Can you show us your sump filter?
Been a while since I made a video showing my sump - i'll post a new video soon 🙂
So you only feed 2 cubes of mysis a day ?
At the moment yeah, but i'm bumping that back up to 3 - I actually think the Copperband looks underweight at the moment
Man im overfeeding 😮😂
What happened to the Naoko?
I think died cus of the kole tang

I think you should give the copperbad more of the acan he likes :P
What is the feeder called? Been looking for a frozen food feeder.
It's from London Aquatic Design - it's only for their covers...
Won't the rabbitfish get way to big?
Eventually, yeah but that's years away
How come u only feed my sis shrimp 🦐 just wondering 💭 love your videos
It's the one thing that all my fish eat and it's nice and nutritious. A bit more variety wouldn't go amiss though...
Just wondering 💭 do you think it’s a complete diet for Miss Fish? Just wondering because I use that but I also use other stuff to.
Most fish 🐠 i mean and thanks 😊
Funny your mystery wrasse stays out of the way seeing as they're in the same genus as the six line
Good as gold
😅 Drinking game!
How’s your dwarf yellow slug?
Haven't seen him for ages. Could have been Angel'd or Butterfly'd thinking about it!
Just had to catch my two bar rabbit fish and orange spot rabbit fish because they were eating coral :(
Could have sworn I saw a Fiji Foxface...
Nope!
