Interesting info and clarity. I really enjoy this aspect of your content given your relationship and collaboration with GRRM and obviously prioritizing of the text above all else ; really almost no one else who give such clarity and insights like you two provide. Look forward to continuing with this series of vids.
I was wondering if you have any more insight on Alicent in particular. I was wondering if you know/whether or not you believe her to be as malicious as much of the fandom believes her to be. I find her to be a deeply fascinating character who is trying to do the best that she can with what she’s been given in life. She reminds me of Tyrion in the sense that I feel that she’s a very lonely, intelligent person whose great political mind has gone underutilized by the powerful people around her because they see her as not an equal but ‘other.’
I don't think the TV show version of Alicent is malicious. I think she feels ill-used in her life, mistreated and disregarded, and striving for the ascension of her son at least gives her a sense that the humiliations and dashing of her dreams that she's suffered at least served a grander purpose. The book version of Alicent is, I suspect, a bit more straightforward: an ambitious woman who disregards her husband's wishes to elevate her children (and herself, and her family).
George's description to the artist was that Rhaenyra was almost 10 years older than her brother. So I've always remembered that as 9 years, but yes, 10 is nearer

What's all this, then?!
Don't you mean 10 years apart instead of 9 (born in 97 AC and 107 AC) ?
