Yeah unfortunately I noticed in his video that he showed he never ki pulsed nor burst countered. Honestly if you run of ki, you can just burst counter and use that as an attack then go right back into comboing

I just fucking hate how they implemented burst mechanic though. There’s already dodging blocking and parying but now I’m forced to use a whole new button combo within 1-2 seconds time window or else I get one shot? Stupid. I hate it. It feels like trash. not a particularly good point tbh, ryu is a dlc boss and wo long only has base game bosses, but ryu design harkens back to the doppelganger fights of OG Ninja gaiden, with the unreactable attacks and holding block and all of that, relatively speaking the base game bosses in Wo long just has longer and faster combos which just makes them faster, maybe dlc bosses will be giga based like SoP but I doubt it lol
Admittedly I was a bit rusty going back to Nioh. But yes there's a bit of nuance to Niohs combat. With stance changing from combos. And I kept forgetting that you can get chucks of stamina back through the recovery system as well.
I thought Wo Long was a great game. I think Nioh 2 is simply in a league of its own though, best combat I've ever played in a game. Truly endless custom ability and variety
As a huge Nioh Fan I like fast combat. Therefore I like Wo Long a lot....I'm at 70% of NG+ right now. However, Nioh 2 is waaaay deeper. Maybe we see some NG+++++ in Wo Long to one day. But no more Kodamas hurt. I want a Nioh 3!
Yeah unfortunately I don't ever see a nioh 3 happening. I wish though. I literally started a fresh character tonight and am playing my 4th playthrough of nioh 2 at 700 hrs logged already
I disagree with Wo Long having faster paced combat than Nioh at least on the player side. Wo Long punishes you for being too aggressive especially with weapons and martial arts that have long wind up times. Most of the time, I feel like I have to wait for the enemy to attack me or else I'm just gonna eat an unblockable. The only way to really do damage also is to wait for those unblockable attacks to drain the enemy's spirit so u can crit them. Also having full spirit doesn't feel like I have the advantage since the spells and martial arts' effects aren't that impactful since u can get easily interrupted when using the slow martial arts and u can get hit by an unblockable if u spam attacks at full spirit. Nioh can be super fast paced if u use ki pulse well and combine them with Yokai abilities. Certain normal attacks and dash attacks can come out super fast especially with tonfas and fists so u can hit and run. U can recover with a dodge pretty quickly with most attacks unlike Wo Long (or use Feral counter if u have the anima). Some yokai abilities come out super fast (like the cannon arm or the monkey spear ability) and can be used to not only extend combos but also remove the delay of stamina regeneration. Having full anima for the yokai abilities can shift the momentum for the player since the boss yokai abilities are extremely strong and can drain a boss's ki really fast. Also when the boss has no stamina, u can throw out a lot of the typically slow and unsafe attacks cuz bosses can be stunlocked when their ki is gone. If a boss does decide to use an unblockable, then u can just use the burst counter that can be used mid combo and continue your aggression. Overall, I agree that I like Nioh better. Wo Long is fun even if it does feel very simple but I think Nioh is just way too good. I like how there's little down time when using magic so u can seamlessly integrate it in some combos. U don't really have to be scared of not investing in the right stats or choosing the right spells since u can respec for free in the village hub.
It really depends on what weapons and spells you have, for both games. Wo Long with the Earth Hyper-Armor spell, a fast weapon with good martial arts and maybe the water dash spell lets you be incredibly aggressive and relentless. Nioh with the heavier weapons forces you to be slower paced unless you go full damage-mitigation in a couple of specific builds. I do agree though, that in general, Nioh allows you to be more aggressive as breaking enemy stamina is easier and lasts longer.
@@Ch35h1r3C47 I've never tried to use the hammers/axes in Nioh extensively but I did use the 2nd to last slowest weapon: the odachi in my 1st Nioh playthrough. imo the odachi outspeeds any of the heavy weapon equivalents in Wo long. U can transition to a dodge pretty fast after a med stance light attack and a lot faster with a low stance light attack. Also, odachi and axe/hammer attacks don't bounce off guarding opponents compared to other weapons so the fights can be faster paced if u can keep the aggression up. I will admit, I had a damage-mitigation build with my odachi (not fully heavy armor but mix of med and heavy, regen spells, def and heal based spirits and abilities) but I'd like to think that in any rpg, slow weapons and heavy armor are common sense.
@@Watchful049 Odachi was my main weapon in Nioh 1 (dual katanas as a secondary). I really liked that you could make combos that flowed between stances in any way you wanted to. I think it hit the perfect balance of power, speed and range for a "heavy" weapon. It has a lot of nice moves for targeting and breaking heads and other glowing areas too.
@@passman36 I would argue you only start really getting into Nioh 2 after Dream of the Strong which leaves Dream of the Demon, Dream of Wise and Dream of the Nioh AND still all 108 floors of the underworld and the 30 floors of the Depths. To no consider Nioh's NG cycles is not a fair comparison in my opinion. Also these games combats play more like fighting games in RPG style worlds not really souls like but I can see where the comparisons come from but it is definitely not the combat.
Completely agree with your take, I have never unistalled Nioh 2 or Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden I always come back to them, however while I really enjoy Nioh, I like the plot more in Wo Long, the speed and lore, being able to Jump is a blazing and the weapons are great I purchased all of the content for all of them and I am excited for the DLC's I definitely want a chain or flail or Kusarigama I also like that the style feels more flashy and the tigers are awesome also I can play along with Guan Yu, I really want more content for this game starting with weapons, enemy variety, faster spells, secret areas etc, the build is simplified from Nioh as well, there is lack of exploration however but that's a trademark. There is also Strangers of Paradise, lots of fun, great DLC's and incredible bosses, the parry is amazing on that one, there is block, perfect block and shield, even core shield that allows you to absorb powers, plus other status and your party who you can play as and control if you have the DLC's, great balance as well.
Everything was right untill you said that combat speed is slow and close to the souls like series while showing odachi on a high stance with is the slowest possible weapon in the game
I had equal fun with both! Gaming time and DLC money well spent! I have to say WL DLC bosses’ difficulty was holy sheettily ramped up by several 💯%, on its basic NG!!! Second thing I’ll mention was pummeling many enemies and bosses with the cestuses and its Martial Arts was really fun, even with my poorly-optimized build!
Nioh 2 has tons of move set and builds to customize. And large among of monster varieties. Wo long suffer from the same problem as nioh 1 lack of monster varieties and mission design. I had more fun playing wo long multiplayer it is more forgiving
I agree I think nioh certainly does offer more variety as far as build and play styles. Sometimes playing wo long all the weapons felt really similar. Unless I was using something like a halberd
I'm actually trying to see which one to buy right now. I think I'm gonna go neo I think this video was very informational. And short and sweet and I liked the video. Hit all the key points on questions. I had made my decision easy.
I beat Wo Long and enjoyed it, but Nioh 2 was something special. The build variety was something to respect and enjoy. That and the PC performance was also bad (which is crazy cause Nioh 2’s port was decent)
Watching you play nioh 2 hurt my beautiful heart. Missing every burst counter and never using a ki pulse 😢 with a perfect ki pulse the combat is more fluid in nioh 2 but you are right, it's definitely not the same pace as Wo long.
@@passman36 lol I feel ya tho. The first time i ever played Nioh 2 I just picked up skills and never read them. Never ki pulsed ever. And I used axe and all I'd use was high stance triangle finisher lol. I'm actually hopping back in for the 4th time and 700 hrs later. Nioh is the one game that I always come back to its that good
The fact Wo Long makes you pick single missions instead of following the souls like linear open world formula kind of kills it for me. It's basically putting a glorified loading screen into a souls game.
The morale system drained the enjoyment I had of this game. It being attached to wizardry is so damn stupid - I don't like being reset with each new level and exploring for the flags isn't exactly interesting either since the level design in this game is garbage.
I didn't so much mind the level design or how the moral system reset. As I didn't use magic too much. I think the moral system overall is decent in concept but I felt like that help make the game too easy imo. Especially when you over leveled it before going to a boss.
Wo long all the way, fast paced combat and the hability to jump means a major improvement, in fact since the first souls I thought jump was missing badly
I'm on the fence about this. I really don't want to play wo long solely because the steam reviews are on the "Mixed" side - and its more expensive. I got Nioh 2 on sale for half off and have to say that I'm enjoying every minute of it plus the steam reviews for it are on the "Very Positive" side. All the friends that can afford it are playing WL simply because its new - I wish I could convince them to get Nioh 2 over this game so that I can have homies to play with - but I guess it wont be happening.
Yeah it may be a case of fomo (fear of missing out). And it's kinda what every one is talking about because it's new. Maybe once they are done with Wo long they may jump into nioh after
I played the demo and restarted my nigh 2 play throughout. I forgot how good nigh 2 is. Idk if I’ll ever give Wu long a buy. That samurai game team ninja is working on though… fingers crossed.
I think it's worth it. I would say if your on the fence wait for a sale. But yes I believe it's called Ronin or something like that. Isn't it supposed to open world?
last time i cut that flaming and teleporting man, but i always used spear, never came a sword, how can i find a strong sword, while the damage of my spear is 180, sword 102 103
I had thought Nioh 2 was slow hit and run too until i tried barrier talisman and learned how to ki flux properly. Then it became a completely different game, human enemies can never escape stunlock. I think for first playthough this spell is absolutely necessary it should be put as a disclaimer somewhere. And Wolong i think is just bad. Enemies are absolute garbage, and there's 0 depth, spells and battle arts might aswell not exist they're all useless ESPECIALLY buffs, who tf thought giving them 20s duration combined with this insane spirit cost was a good idea.
I don't disagree. And please do correct me if I'm wrong. I think we didn't see a nioh 3 is partially due to Sony publishing the first two games and Id imagine there'd have to be some consent on their behalf. So instead they just created their own IP
Wo long shoulda have kept the crafting, looting and skills system of nioh. Everyone of those systems in wo long is a simplified version of nioh. Wo long woulda been better if it was nioh 2 with pace and deflecting.
@@passman36 just be consistent! You have the voice, presentation and knowledge. No reason you cant be one of the big boys!! Btw I hated Sekiro but LOVED Wo Long maybe compare those!
Wo long was only challenging on the first level. The boss was only challenging due to the parry button being assigned to the dodge button and the game would constantly not register which one you wanted to do.
I enjoy challenging games but I just couldn't find my groove with Nioh 2, the more streamlined and fast-paced combat, love for Romance of the 3 Kingdom's era anything, and the recruitment system (scratching the long itch for a Dragon's Dogma style experience of tough bosses with party members - whom are neither OP or completely useless) make Wo Long the far more enjoyable experience for me. Yes, Wo Long doesn't have as many difficult 'walls' like Nioh or other souls games, but it has small things I personally love in games that I wish more games would offer, so even if it isn't the better 'souls-like' experience, it is the more enjoyable game to me. (I can't wait for the DLCs and I can only hope for a sequel down the line)
I like both and have played both. Not thoroughly but enough to see which I prefer.. first off if it wasn’t for sekiro.. I would’ve never even tried these games but I think nioh 2 is the better game
If they can add alot of good stuff in their first dlc then maybe it can stand beside nioh 2 One thing i can never understand about game development, is that why they wanna reinvent the wheel. Sports games, gta, COD games, fortnite and many other games are living proofin good and bad that reinventing the wheel does not work. When you have a good product you add to it and you upgrade the components when its neasesary. You dont remove components from a good product and then afterwards add new ones without the same quality and finesse.and with a chance to course friction and end up being incompatiable with the many users😑 The new game got some good stuff going for it🤪 but its not even close to nioh 2 yet😂
the thing is that you can't have one dude spearhead the project for the whole time, the same thing gets boring after a while I mean even the same director is working on a different genre after nioh 2, it's a chance to let newer directors take the lead for once and let them along with possibly newer staffs a chance in the spotlight, it might work out it might not but team ninja is also going for a yearly game release strategy so it's just the case
Wo Long is a good game, but it lacks depth of combat and flexibility, which makes the fun last not really long since you cannot get really creative in this game, for me Nioh's combat is just superior in every aspect, without saying Wo Long is bad because it's a good game, but Nioh is just great
I prefer nioh, wo long is a Good game...But force you to play in a same way. Nioh have skill tree, stances, dojo, is more parametric... wo long compared To nioh lose, But is a Good game better than sekiro in My opinion
Agreed nioh has more depth too it. And it's much more challenging. Wo long is fine for what it is. Maybe our expectations were a bit high coming off of nioh 2
@@KingBean904 I actually liked the concept of the moral system. I just feel like it needs to be tweaked and balanced a bit more. I feel like that helped make the game too easy
Wo long is definitely a letdown I expected it to be so much better and more challenging like Nioh 2 but this was and is diet Nioh it's like the dumb younger brother that Nioh 2 was forced to bring with him and his friends.
I understand I still did have a good time with the game. I think maybe team ninja wanted to make a game on all platforms instead of just PlayStation and PC. That's how we ended up with Wo long instead of nioh 3
Unfortunately not I can't think of any game thats similar to Wo long and is a soulslike. A good game I'd recommend is dragon's dogma. It's a bit older and compares to something like Elden Ring. You can normally get it pretty cheap.
@@aphidamas1 I know they had a remaster of those Ninja Gaiden games. I use to play the original back in the day. One thing that use to frustrate me about them was the camera angles. Do you know if that was addressed in the remasters?
@@passman36 I think the remasters only made changes on texture qualities but not exactly camera. I'm with you though I can't seem to play any fixed camera game since ps1. Also to the OP of this thread, iirc DMC5 can be what you're looking for as it's not exactly sekiro. I might have to play it myself since I enjoy Wo Long's combat system, and yet I tried Nioh 2 and 'wanted' to have the depth and variety presented there. It felt so much slower to me though which is such a damn shame. It's like the difference between Sekiro and Elden Ring and I only really played ER for the lore and presentation. The combat felt way too off for me even if literally ALL the hitboxes and hurtboxes I experienced were pixel perfect. Sigh.
@@RandomPinoyGamer I totally understand. I have been playing souls games for a while and when I played nioh it felt similar with the pace of combat. But after playing wo long and then trying to go backwards it was such a struggle. The pace of combat managing stamina. It was rough.
Yes you are very correct. Don't get me wrong visually I don't think either game is something to write home about. But everything looks much sharper in Nioh. Great call out.
Nioh and Nioh 2 are both better than Wo Long in pretty much every way other than graphics. I'm actually slightly disappointed with Wo Long. The combat and gear is so basic and simplified.
I really like wolong its fun to play and i love the three kingdoms story. But there r many flaws for me for example i dont like the inventory Management, i dont like the System to upgrade your gear , the combat system is nice but there is Not so much depth. Its very easy as well i Think the only fights i had to do a Couple Times was the First Boss and lu bu . The shortcuts you get are also absoultrly poinzless. What im also missing is a preview for transmog like i want to See how something looks before i have to pay for it. I Know its many small things i criticize but they sum up for me.But im still playing and i have fun im trying to Develop some nice builds atm. And thats a Big pro for wolong without any Costs you can switch your builds drastically. For me its a 8/10 but if i wouldnt be a three kingdoms fan it would be a 7.5/10 🙂 But nioh 2 was by Far the best souls game i ever Played and i Think it would be easily in my top 5 games of all time With suikoden 2 other 3 i dont Know atm. 😅
I think I was mostly underwhelmed with the level of difficultly. Like you I think LU Bu was the most challenging boss in the game and it only took me a few times to get em. I don't think wo long is a bad game by any means. I just think our expectations were really high after nioh 2
Nioh is faster than most Fromsoftware Soulsborne games to be honest except Sekiro where Wo Long feels faster than that which i like all these games. I got Nioh 2 free ps plus so i enjoying it as Wo Long demo i felt like its quick but you cover so much ground mission ends too quickly.
Your absolutely right. Wo Long almost feels like a button masher. Seikiro is faster than all of them except wo long....but it didnt feel like it was a button masher like wo long. Not only that but the enemies were much tougher in sekiro vs wo long. That may be why you felt like you could get through the missions a lot faster
Haha fair enough. I never checked to see if they have different button configurations. But I will say when I went back to nioh after wo Long it was a tough adjustment. The controls just feel much more natural in Wo Long vs Nioh

Lol, already beat Nioh but i cant remeber if it was difficult to me to get use to it, but today i say this obviously will be a issue. Because of Nioh i starting love Souls like, now i start to get platinum in every game like this btw i already get platinum in Wo long

@@passman36 Yeah i totally agree on that. I think Wo long was too easy cause of the parry system, i mean it was good but you can literally do No Hit Dmg in every boss. I did that in a few bosses and i wasn't even trying.
I've always sucked at timings for parries in all souls like games, plus thematically I enjoy Nioh more. Overall Wo Long was definitely fun but I honestly felt while they streamlined a lot of features Nioh still had an overall more robust combat offering. The pace is faster for Wo Long but between the weapon stances and transformation ability personally I feel like Nioh 2 had more to offer to players who want to craft a more unique playstyle by mixing different weapons and stance preferences. Nioh 2 wins for me, but maybe if Wo Long 2 ever gets released it could sway me the other way
I almost think they streamlined the game purposely. Not only that the game was far easier than nioh. I wish it was a tad bit more difficult. But I enjoyed the combat a bit more than niohs.
from start wo long might feel faster compare to nioh2 because u dont need to manage stamina but if you can combos in nioh2, and manage stamina with combos+anima+etc , their is no need to take pill to recover because u can take hp back from fighting and combos and if u can combo like in ex link below, i feel wolong combo speed might even slower than nioh2, because stance in nioh2 is more complex than wo long ua-cam.com/video/r33b6NpJS-I/v-deo.html
Nioh 2 wins. I'm half way through wo long ng+ and very bored with it. Wo long combat feels sloppy easy. Facing enemies off screen is a nightmare, the equipment management is trash compared to nioh but then again nioh 2 had soul matching. Went back downloaded Nioh 2 remaster on ps5 damn did it feel good. Felt like Nioh 2 was the new game lol. Wo long is boring compared to nioh 2. I'm done
Ahhhh man sorry your not enjoying. I do think nioh is the better game over. But I prefer the combat in Wo long. I just wish wo long was more difficult. It felt like a sekiero-lite
The only thing Wo Long did to me is that i reinstalled Nioh 2 again after i finished Wo Long. Wo Long is a Mix of Sekiro, DS3/Elden Ring and Nioh 2 and its worse than any of this games. If i want a sneak approach on a soulslike with combat focused on deflecting and countering, why shouldnt i play Sekiro instead? If i want a game that is similiar to Nioh 2 why shouldnt i play Nioh 2 instead? If i want a soulslike with good and balanced PvP why shouldnt i play Elden Ring? Wo Long kinda tries to bring it all together and the result is a combination that just does not work out well. As mentioned in the video the jump mechanic is a great addition, so are the awesome combat animations, the PvP is somewhat enjoyable, the invasions are great if there would not be that "turn off button." The rest of Wo Long is lackluster in nearly any categorie. The graphics are not really a huge upgrade to Nioh 2. The zones still get recycled over and over. The campaign difficulty is all over the place with the tutorial boss beeing the hardest and everything else ranges from too easy to barly up to standard. The skilltrees and item upgrade system is a watered down version of Nioh. Upgradeing gear is less depending on RNG but so one sided dumb that its close to an insult. I would play Nioh 2, Sekiro or Elden Ring over Wo Long anytime, ad sad as it is. It seems i am not the only one, there are alot of people playing Nioh 2 again.
Thats totally fair. I think my problem with Wo Long was the difficulty. It was just very easy to me. But I know difficulty varies from person to person. But yeah my first thought was that this is Nioh fused with Sekiero. But overall I did enjoy the combat because I like fast paced almost borderline button mashing lol.
If they had succeeded in combining em it would def gave been great😝 the stealth abilities and back attack is something i would love to see in nioh 2 even tho the stelth mechanic is shit in wo long, you cant crouch and if u just pull your r3 abit to much forward you begin to run and waking up the guy u were meant to back attack🤣 Inlove the combination of 2 elements like lightning makes poison stick better and so on and forth, tho limits the way you can play ithink🤔 and the armor set bonuses are just shit🤣 But overall a very refreshing game, but it really makes you wanna play nioh 2 again, even tho you have completed it 3 times and dont wanna do it again😂
Well my friend amongst all these comments you seem to be in the minority. And that completely ok we all like what we like. I certainly enjoyed the combat in Wo long more than nioh .

Also, was it JUST a coincidence you happen to be holding an Odachi while making this claim?? Both games are fun however, I feel Wo Long is a downgrade from Nioh2.
They have one thing in common, there's a secret evil magic man behind the scenese
Endgame Nioh has insta stamina regen so there is no downtime and waiting especially when you factor the Demon abilities.
That's right. Something I didn't really consider was the endgame or new game+.
Anyone else noticed they used Nioh 2's first boss as an optional "super boss" in wo long?
SoP was rough. I played the base game and never picked it up ever again.
Wo Long was a huge step backwards for team ninja, Nioh 2 was a masterpiece and Wo long was a 6/10 at best.
one thing i like in wo long is can create the same character i have created in nioh 2
Everything was right untill you said that combat speed is slow and close to the souls like series while showing odachi on a high stance with is the slowest possible weapon in the game
Nice video. I was hoping to hear more about weapon choices in wo-long, and how the leveling stats compare.
Thanks! I like the VS. video idea!
Great video brother. That helped me a lot to decide on what game to get. Cheers ❤
Hey thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
@@BillyEllis-v3u yes Nioh is the better choice in my opinion
Great Vid, I made the same, slung in Sekiro for good measure !
I beat Wo Long and enjoyed it, but Nioh 2 was something special. The build variety was something to respect and enjoy. That and the PC performance was also bad (which is crazy cause Nioh 2’s port was decent)
Watching you play nioh 2 hurt my beautiful heart. Missing every burst counter and never using a ki pulse 😢 with a perfect ki pulse the combat is more fluid in nioh 2 but you are right, it's definitely not the same pace as Wo long.
lolololololololololololololol. I was soooooo rusty admittedly and what made things worse was coming from wo long.
Nioh is the one game that I always come back to its that good
Wo long is the beginning of good things to come...wich is the jump button.
I agree although I think wo long is a one time game
Would be cool seeing this sort of video for a traditional action game like maybe Devil May Cry 4 or 5 vs one of the Bayonetta games
Nioh 2 reminds of the older and more polished version of the ninja gaiden games. Nioh 2 is like ninja gaiden 2 with some soulslike attached to it
i loved nioh 2 1000 times more than wo long
The fact Wo Long makes you pick single missions instead of following the souls like linear open world formula kind of kills it for me.
Especially when you over leveled it before going to a boss.
bro fighting in high stance in nioh 2 and says combat speed is slow. bruh...
Wo long all the way, fast paced combat and the hability to jump means a major improvement, in fact since the first souls I thought jump was missing badly
Can you please make a wo long vs sekiro vid? I’m curious which one is harder and all the differences and similarities
I working on something else currently. But I'll definitely try to squeeze that one in.
Answer : Sekiro is WAYYYY HARDER, but also WAYYY BETTER
Maybe once they are done with Wo long they may jump into nioh after
Nioh 2 is souls like with devil trigger
broke it down pretty good. Wo long is more beginner friendly than nioh
Thank you!!! I wanted to include more but I don't want the videos to be overly long.
@@passman36 I believe it will be. I’d like to see a bit more. I imagine combat will be great. Hoping for extra weapons, but we’ll see.
last time i cut that flaming and teleporting man, but i always used spear, never came a sword, how can i find a strong sword, while the damage of my spear is 180, sword 102 103
For Wo Long
I had thought Nioh 2 was slow hit and run too until i tried barrier talisman and learned how to ki flux properly.
Showing the nodachi in highstance while talking about the speed of the combat in Nioh isnt really fair to the game don't you think?
they should've just made a nioh 3 , cause there's nothing on earth that even comes close to. nioh 2 🥺
I don't disagree. And please do correct me if I'm wrong. I think we didn't see a nioh 3 is partially due to Sony publishing the first two games and Id imagine there'd have to be some consent on their behalf. So instead they just created their own IP
@@passman36 idk man all i know is I loved the switch stance dance, nothing's more satisfying than that.
Wo long shoulda have kept the crafting, looting and skills system of nioh. Everyone of those systems in wo long is a simplified version of nioh. Wo long woulda been better if it was nioh 2 with pace and deflecting.
great video dude! keep it up!
Hey man thank you. I got another good one launching real soon 😎
@@passman36 just be consistent! You have the voice, presentation and knowledge. No reason you cant be one of the big boys!! Btw I hated Sekiro but LOVED Wo Long maybe compare those!
lot of people rate nioh 2 better than wo long
Wo long is honestly a massive letdown compared to Nioh. Wo long is too easy and repetitive. Nioh 2-9.5/10 Wo long-6/10 imo
Yeah I was hoping for more of a challenge with Wo Long. The parry and moral system made it far to easy.
Nioh 2 sucks donkey ****
🤡🤡
Wo long was only challenging on the first level. The boss was only challenging due to the parry button being assigned to the dodge button and the game would constantly not register which one you wanted to do.
@@passman36 I'm still gonna buy it after i buy nioh 2, which may be after path of the ronin comes out
I enjoy challenging games but I just couldn't find my groove with Nioh 2, the more streamlined and fast-paced combat, love for Romance of the 3 Kingdom's era anything, and the recruitment system (scratching the long itch for a Dragon's Dogma style experience of tough bosses with party members - whom are neither OP or completely useless) make Wo Long the far more enjoyable experience for me.
If they can add alot of good stuff in their first dlc then maybe it can stand beside nioh 2
One thing i can never understand about game development, is that why they wanna reinvent the wheel.
Sports games, gta, COD games, fortnite and many other games are living proofin good and bad that reinventing the wheel does not work.
When you have a good product you add to it and you upgrade the components when its neasesary.
You dont remove components from a good product and then afterwards add new ones without the same quality and finesse.and with a chance to course friction and end up being incompatiable with the many users😑
The new game got some good stuff going for it🤪 but its not even close to nioh 2 yet😂
the thing is that you can't have one dude spearhead the project for the whole time, the same thing gets boring after a while I mean even the same director is working on a different genre after nioh 2, it's a chance to let newer directors take the lead for once and let them along with possibly newer staffs a chance in the spotlight, it might work out it might not but team ninja is also going for a yearly game release strategy so it's just the case
Wo Long is a good game, but it lacks depth of combat and flexibility, which makes the fun last not really long since you cannot get really creative in this game, for me Nioh's combat is just superior in every aspect, without saying Wo Long is bad because it's a good game, but Nioh is just great
I played wo long and stranger of Paradise and felt the same thing: this is good, but it's not nioh 😅
Wo long is a good game, nioh 2 is the better game
You'll find no disagreements here
Combat is much slower paced in nioh ? Really you dont say try NOT using a slow ass weapon like odache?
I prefer nioh, wo long is a Good game...But force you to play in a same way. Nioh have skill tree, stances, dojo, is more parametric... wo long compared To nioh lose, But is a Good game better than sekiro in My opinion
I played both and I prefer a Nioh to any day of the week. I like Wo Long but to me and Nioh 2 is better
Agreed nioh has more depth too it. And it's much more challenging. Wo long is fine for what it is. Maybe our expectations were a bit high coming off of nioh 2
@@passman36 you’re right. I wanted to love it like I did Nioh 2. I do like it tho. I just hate the moral system
Which game is longer?
I would say Nioh is the longer game. Not by much though.
Do u know others games like wo long with comabts pretty fast? Besides Sekiro.
Unfortunately not I can't think of any game thats similar to Wo long and is a soulslike. A good game I'd recommend is dragon's dogma. It's a bit older and compares to something like Elden Ring. You can normally get it pretty cheap.
Try the 3D Ninja Gaiden games. Not "souls-like" but they are made by the same developers as Wo Long/Nioh.
Hmm, when looking at Nioh 2 and Wo Long side by side it shows that Wo Long is lacking in visual clarity. Too much detail can make things messy.
Yes you are very correct. Don't get me wrong visually I don't think either game is something to write home about. But everything looks much sharper in Nioh. Great call out.
These sekiro and nioh stans just down play everything to credit they fav 💀🤣
You might be sick of hearing this but Wo Long was no where near as good as Nioh 2.
Hahaha. Nah I'm not lol. But yeah I know. I enjoyed it for what it was. There's definitely some things I'd change for sure.
Nioh and Nioh 2 are both better than Wo Long in pretty much every way other than graphics. I'm actually slightly disappointed with Wo Long. The combat and gear is so basic and simplified.
Id actually argue the graphics portion I think nioh 2 looks better than wo long. At least the character models do in my opinion.
For me its a 8/10 but if i wouldnt be a three kingdoms fan it would be a 7.5/10 🙂
But nioh 2 was by Far the best souls game i ever Played and i Think it would be easily in my top 5 games of all time With suikoden 2 other 3 i dont Know atm.
@@passman36 also can say Wo Long has best character customizations
Dodge button is X for Nioh and thats is enough for me to never play it
Haha fair enough. I never checked to see if they have different button configurations.
But I will say when I went back to nioh after wo Long it was a tough adjustment. The controls just feel much more natural in Wo Long vs Nioh
@@passman36 i played all souls games inc Wo long and it is always O for the dodge button, it is so hard to adapt to this new change in Nioh i tried to change it but u cant cuz the O button is occupied by the interact button which u cant change, I forget to mention great video man I enjoyed it keep up the good work
Lol, already beat Nioh but i cant remeber if it was difficult to me to get use to it, but today i say this obviously will be a issue. Because of Nioh i starting love Souls like, now i start to get platinum in every game like this
btw i already get platinum in Wo long
@@gfinorel7397 ahh man very nice. I wish I had the motivation for completionist. I think nioh was challenging but not as hard as souls games imo. But I started with souls games first so I was already use to that type of difficultly. As far as wo Long....that one was by far the easiest for me.
But I enjoyed the combat a bit more than niohs.
from start wo long might feel faster compare to nioh2 because u dont need to manage stamina but if you can combos in nioh2, and manage stamina with combos+anima+etc , their is no need to take pill to recover because u can take hp back from fighting and combos
and if u can combo like in ex link below, i feel wolong combo speed might even slower than nioh2, because stance in nioh2 is more complex than wo long
ua-cam.com/video/r33b6NpJS-I/v-deo.html
Wo Long feels awful to play... massive downgrade from Nioh 2
parrying? nioh does have parrying tho.
See I think Wo Long is different enough to stand out from these games but to each their own. Enjoying it alot.
@@passman36 I agree by the end the balancing was off and it seemed to easy. New game plus seems better balanced so far. Feeling the danger more.
If they had succeeded in combining em it would def gave been great😝 the stealth abilities and back attack is something i would love to see in nioh 2 even tho the stelth mechanic is shit in wo long, you cant crouch and if u just pull your r3 abit to much forward you begin to run and waking up the guy u were meant to back attack🤣
Inlove the combination of 2 elements like lightning makes poison stick better and so on and forth, tho limits the way you can play ithink🤔 and the armor set bonuses are just shit🤣
But overall a very refreshing game, but it really makes you wanna play nioh 2 again, even tho you have completed it 3 times and dont wanna do it again😂
I couldn’t stand Nioh and loved Wo Long, so my pick is easy
Well my friend amongst all these comments you seem to be in the minority. And that completely ok we all like what we like. I certainly enjoyed the combat in Wo long more than nioh .
100 percent wo long all day , NG + in wo long is so enjoyable, loving every second , very addictive!!
Wo Long crashes every 10 mins Nioh2 doesn't. Nuff said for me.
"Nioh is much more slower pace"?? Bro, did you even play through pass Dream of the Strong?? Also, was it JUST a coincidence you happen to be holding an Odachi while making this claim?? Both games are fun however, I feel Wo Long is a downgrade from Nioh2. Just look at how nonsensical and counter-intuitive it's talent tree is compared to Niohs. If you really do a REAL breakdown of both mechanics, from passives/magic system to gearing, Nioh's is FAR superior, not even close.
Nioh 2 sucks
Whaaaaat. I don't think so. What don't you like about it ?
nioh 2 looks boring
All nioh needs is the jump. That's it.🫳🎤.
If nioh had a jump button that would add an extra element to the game for sure. From level design to combat.
Nioh 2 was hard as shit
Nice video. I was hoping to hear more about weapon choices in wo-long, and how the leveling stats compare.
Thanks! I like the VS. video idea!
