I loved the stream for this board and the burgundy looks so clean. I just realized that the labelling on the box is misaligned. The 'Accessories" is centered while all the other are right sided and now I cannot unsee it!
For your question, I want the case even if it's more money cause that is where it sits when not in use. I would rather everything to fit inside the case and no cardboard at all. Just the case. Glad they lowered the price on this thing. Also, always love to see a per-key. So few boards have it, but I really love it. I also have to admit that the layout does not bother me and this does sound better as a hotswap PCB. One question, would the solder PCB allow for millmax? No worries if not, I would use nixies, OPBlacks or MX2A oranges anyway.
I don't mind the hardshell cases but they should use a universal one, where the insides aren't molded to one shape so I can transport any of my keebs with the same form factor :)
I think I always want each board to have its own hardshell case. Best way to store a board and its spare parts when it's not in rotation. And it very faintly reminds me of folding up my Bionicles and putting them back in their canisters to bring to my grandma's house, which is clearly the most compelling reason 🙂
Def agree that is a big miss on not including the plugs in the box. I want them bc I have a Dymium65 but they are like $2 and then $10 to ship lol. I cannot justify paying that much for shipping for something is $2. Also I really love that they are offering the solderable pcb (even tho I cannot solder lol) Maybe I will get one and some plugs someday ahah then I can finally have a 7U on my board. Cheers Alex!
I want every keyboard I purchase to come with a custom hard shell case. In my ideal world the more expensive keyboards(anything over $500) would come with carboard packaging and a hard shell case. I think the unboxing experience is important as it affects the first impression you have of the product.
1:30 I prefer boxes especially when I don't really travel a lot or if I plan on maining the keyboard long term. I have hard cases for my switch and one of my controllers have one included and they're just collecting dust. Like, I'd prefer just purchasing a hard case separately when the time finally comes that I actually in need of one. but if it's a 300-500+ usd keyboard, I would want a hardshell case just to add more protection during shipping.
i thought i heard you say some time ago that you don’t notice a difference between solder and hotswap pcbs, did you change your mind or did i just hear you wrong?
I do prefer boxes, especially when the whole packaging is well thought, but i guess i would have a different opinion if i had to move around and keep my keyboard with me, a hard shell case would be more practical, unless i go for a cheap light low profile that i can stuff in my backpack easily.
I saw the thumbnail and I thought it was a stapler
Me too!!!

I saw the dymium when it was like, 30% off, but when I checked back to maybe buy it, it was back to full price. 😭 good to see its cheaper.
I'm glad they lowered the price.
is the knob click remappable on this? heavily considering picking one up if it is
dying to know what keycaps you've got on the board you weren't building!
I will always prefer a hardshell case, even if it bumps the cost up a little bit
i thought i heard you say some time ago that you don’t notice a difference between solder and hotswap pcbs, did you change your mind or did i just hear you wrong?
It's because the hotswap PCB has flex cuts

alex what microphone are u using?
What's your recommendation for Nixies?
Lubing + film? Spring swap? Just lube?
Imo you dont need to film Nixies. Instead, I would consider spring swapping them as the stock cherry springs kinda suck.
good evening alex
Hello there :D
What keyboard is he using?
Mod encore
