There are a lot of lessons you can learn from existing content from the competition. I've got time scheduled every week where I analyze emails from other brands to try and get a feel for what the trends are like, things that are effective, etc.

Google is a lot more contextual now than before, so just because the page doesn't have the exact key word phrase doesn't mean it won't rank for it. And domains with high authority are going to be hard to unseat if you're a brand new site. Not impossible, but gonna take a bunch of work, and time.

It will likely be very hard for you to rank against those high DA, established sites. I'd recommend going after some easier keywords to start, and some longtail keywords as well! Then once you build up your site you can tackle bigger keywords /s

If you write an article in the Buddhism niche and addi a Facebook share button to it you can share it to your Facebook Buddhism page. it depends on the piece of content. If it's evergreen it can last longer, but if it's timely it will need to be updated more often.
