Seems to me that most of the resentment Joe has against Em is because of how Slaughterhouse was handled. But like Rory said, Em was never a businessman, he's always been a rapper. He dropped out of highschool and has only ever known how to rhyme words, so how can you expect him to shoulder your career on his back? I would blame Paul, Jimmy and maybe even Dre, because those guys are the businessmen. It's the same reason Em regrets not being able to make D12 successful, he only knows what works for him, and you can't be mad at him for that.
This makes some sense, however... dude said EMINEM barely showed up to anything. There are certain things that you can't use BUSINESS TO HIDE. As a rapper, you share comradely vibe with other rappers. EMINEM loves ROYCE... CROOK loves EMINEM & ROYCE... won't speak for JOEL.
Then Eminem shouldn't have made his own label and stayed as a rapper. You can't say you're a label head, then fault a person for expecting you to act like a label head.
@Deckard Here we go again, just because he is white he gets mentioned as one of the best... I agree his fanbase is bigger because he is white but if that would be the only reason, then why is nobody saying Yelawolf, MGK, G-Eazy or Logic (for example) is one of the best ever? Not just skill-wise but album sales and awards too? Em sold way, waaaay more than all those guys combined. It's not just because he is white, it's because he is a great rapper, one of the best, and is liked and loved by white and black fans all over the world. I'm not a Stan, let me say that up front because I know some people will use that as an excuse. But I am a big Em fan since the beginning. I agree the last decade his released music is beneath his level, with some exceptions, but you really can't deny he is lyrically the GOAT!

Joe Budden said Eminem is the best at rhyming words together in the world. If I was being perfectly honest, he is*. But the reason I wouldn't say Eminem isn't he best rapper is because of his content. Partly because he is white and Hip Hop's Black so much of his content doesn't relate due to his experience rather than his skin colour meaning he may not face and rap about the same issues ; partly because he often doesn't really go into anything substantive, and I prefer rappers to have a socially conscious side to them if they are to be the best.
As substantive as taste is though, Eminem is definitely in the top 10 of overall rappers still active (Jay, Nas, Em, J. Cole, Kendrick, 3000 to name a few, not in order).
Basically, Eminem has the best wordplay, but not the best content.
*I personally prefer Method Man's rhyming still the most. However, he has shown as much with it as Eminem has, mainly due to the over saturation of weed talk in his music)
