Several groups on the internet have created a "Basic Training" esc camp to train men on how to better themselves. Some of the more cringe worthy "fake military man schools" is MDK The Modern Day Knight Project. Lets do a deep dive on just how cringe these groups can be.

Hope I’m early enough to ask what are the requirements to be an employer partnered with SOAA? Everytime I trying to find the website on my own it pops up completely unrelated information.
when did you turn into a sitter, I've never seen you sitting down in any videos. everything alright?
You know the real reason why people listen to drill?….its bc the us government owns that ass and the drill is the one being forced to take ownership over the noob so ya you can’t really ignore drill when you’re literally currently property of the US government as soon as you signed your paperwork.
You know the real reason why they have to listen to drill?….its bc they signed a contract and they are now property of the US government.
Do you think there is a way to put civilians through a boot camp like program that would be beneficial say as a qualification for a scholarship or perhaps a training program before going to college or just setting out in the workforce?
Gonna be honest. Even pride marches arent as gay as these guys.
LMFAO 😂😂

Shit, join the guard or reserves, one weekend a month and 2 weeks a year and they pay you.
Still have to pay for the Uniforms though, at least they do feed you.
Even an E1 makes over 20k a year and they'll get actual training.
I got screamed at in basic, it was great. Then they yelled at other people more and it was hilarious. Hell I even got paid!
10/10 worth it
Shit, I loved it so much…I did it 3 times:

Apparently, I’m a glutton for punishment. But, hey, I got paid!💵💵💵

Another thing, the physical fitness levels of the spec ops pipeline matches what there instructors can do. We were treading water once with our dive instructor and everybody was complaining about the weight being two heavy and the instructor literally stopped us and jumped in the pool and did it with two of them. I say this because real instructors can prove that what they want you to do is possible.
“Don’t join this cult, join CrossFit, another cult” 😂 great video though.

Biggest lesson is: Be extremely wary of any person or organization who claims that following them will do non-specific shit like “make you a real man” or “fix your life.” The devil is in the details. Research shit before you throw in on it.
It’s the “I almost joined” or the “I didn’t join because I’d punch a drill sergeant in the face” wanna be boot camp.
Its hard at times when you hear a dude say those things. We had a few of these tough guys that thought they were going to intimidate or tell a DI whats up. There were 2 I saw that talked that way. 2 days after pickup they refused to train, and actually murmured f you to a DI. Whole place went quiet instantly. Goes let me go get the senior, just so you can tell him. Dude rolls out enraged, and starts losing it. You disrespected Marines and my DI's? Had us all sit in a circle around them. Show time, the company commander and a dozen mp's arrive. They bounced these aholes off everything on the way out. The officer then addressed all of us. You asked to be here, trust us we know what we are doing creating Marines, we've been doing it for over a century. But this isnt for everyone. You want out, come with me now and you'll get a general discharge, which is like you were never here for your future. Disrespect another Marine, DI, or civilian on this installation and I will make sure you get a dishonorable discharge that will haunt you the rest of your life. Still one of the coolest speeches I've ever seen.
Holy shit... those dudes really are a dime a dozen, aren't they?
oh I hear that last over and over again.
Another thing I hear all the time is "oh I was a Marine" and then find out they were kicked out in boot camp😂 I mean....I guess
edit - I was not in the Marines, just to be clear. I was Air Force. That's why it always gets brought up. They'll find out I was AF and then want to start in with the "I was a Marine" stuff. And it's typically in a way that's like "oh well you were AF, that's cute....I was a Marine." Which is totally acceptable....if you actually were and didn't get kicked out after 3 weeks because you couldn't handle it.
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂"I almost joined and I punch a drill sergeant" 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡

bro... you could do a full scale training course at the absolute highest level doing tactical combatives in a real kill house with live ammo for a whole year for 18 grand...

When you started talking about how Drill instructors get off it reminded me of my Drills. I went into the USMC in 2009 and the first thing my Senior Drill said to us was that "It's not personal, it will feel personal but it is just business. I need to make you Marines and I will do that." The entire time this dude and the three others just fucked our lives up every hour of the day. Then after we received our EGA's he talked to us like Marines. I remember having the warriors dinner were we ate with them and they laughed and talked to us and the entire shit they put us through was worth it to earn their respect passing the Crucible. Shit like that you cant explain to civilians.
They are the way they are, because they need to train you to be a Marine. I went through it in 1999. Once you've earned that title, they will treat as one of them. No matter what rank you end up as, you will always be a Marine. Esprit de corps is definitely something that can't be explained, it can only be experienced. Semper Fi!

I had a friend who was a DI and had a recruit die while running the PFT. They collapsed and seized up and he didn’t make it. My friend was the first DI to get to him and he still can’t sleep right. The kid had asthma that he either didn’t report or didn’t know about
He probably didn't know about it. But are they sure it was asthma? Could have very likely been Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) .a Young guy that passes out and dies while running is right up that alley.
Could’ve been “sports induced asthma” I didn’t know it was a thing until the PFT in boot camp. Some kid got like a 30 something minute 3 mile dying the whole way and it turns out he had sports induced asthma and ended up getting dropped and most likely ad sepped.
If I find myself paying other grown men, to yell at me to be a man, I think I need to rethink some things.

@@the32712 So, honest question from someone who never understood this; How do you pay the bills if you're working as an unpaid firefighter? Between a normal job and being at a firestation for ~2-3 days straight? I don't imagine you'd have much time for anything else?
I missed the military too, so you know what I did about it? I took my old ass back to the recruiter’s office and I re-enlisted. I went back to basic training at 45 years old. I also outperformed most of those kids.
I know someone who went in at 38 and he was killing it in PT!
This mostly just makes me sad. Yeah, some of the guys buying into this are assholes trying to prove their superiority to everyone (while hiding inferiority complexes), but a lot of them need serious help. They're depressed and desperate, and they're being taken advantage of, not unlike other cults or cult-like organizations.
but that's the thing...there's not a ton of people in the world ready to hangout with depressed or desperate people....but there's cults around that would love to take people in ...thing is if you watch some of the bootcamp vids from the army and you see really weak and obese younger people, as well as older really obese officers who are IN the military. what these guys can do in this vid makes those people look like the joke... I mean if you are 60 and can do a triathlon or can crank out 50 pushups or a whole murph, then I'd say that you are more deserving of respect, especially when so many middle aged/ older people have given up on themselves physically... I'd rather watch these ("unofficial") guys help each other up soaking wet and cold rather than some retired CO/NCO who is now fat telling younger people that it's ok to be fat and that the same fate awaits them.... that's the real cringe

It's not surprising they killed someone. Medical oversight is no joke. The US military spends serious $$$ medically screening trainees before, during, and after training. For elite volunteer units, medical oversight during training is even more important.
Super Type A trainees who volunteer for SEALS, SF, Marine Recon, or Air Force Para-Rescue are willing to accept physical and mental stress to the point of near death. But your job as an instructor is to ensure they do NOT die.
Wait who killed someone??
Also those programs have more adv. medical personnel and PTs
Just like Kyle Mullen died during Hell Week
Which is exactly why
1. The military medically screens you prior to enlisting/shipping out
2. Basic training/boot camp is a progression for example there’s a reason the crucible is towards the end of boot camp so that way they spend the weeks prior getting recruits ready for it
@@kingaling0351 Also, most of these require an additional physical before entering

Former food service civy for 4.5 years. To all the veterans out there: thank you and thank you for sharing your wisdom.
I used to work at a chain of gyms whose lead trainer was a guy named V-Man. V-Man (a nickname HE came up with and insisted we called him) was a Lance Corporal in the marines 15 years ago, and never let anyone forget it. He used to have a very similar vibe to these dorks, trying to cash in on the "veteran" thing, screaming and yelling and not knowing anything about anything. That isn't to say vets dont learn while they serve, but it definitely doesn't qualify you to run anything like this.
Bullies figured out how to get paid to be bullies.
Most cops
Bingo!!
@flight2k5 if you're a criminal, maybe you do need to be bullied
😂😂😂😂
I was an instructor for 3 years. The whole point of yelling is supposed to be constructive in nature. It is meant to induce stress and begin to solidify the ability to think clearly and follow orders under stress when people are yelling and there is chaos around you. You are also supposed to give a carrot with that stick… when someone does well, you acknowledge it.
The yelling is not intended to bully people and threaten to assault their genitals.
How much can you really change in 75 hours though?
My instructor said he was never yelling. He was talking loudly so others can also learn from your mistake. Hell there was a few times I fucked up and asked wtf was wrong with me, and I explained I was stupid. Took him by surprise and he had an actual talk with me. These dumb asses think that just yelling changes a person. Yelling can be a form of teaching and experienced Drills know that. I would love for these three tools to be shark attacked and do what they make the others do for 75 hours.
I was slightly older than the other recruits, so I wasn't truly afraid of the instructors, and other family Veterans gave me a mild explanation of what was about to happen (they didn't spoil anything though). Even knowing all that, the first time an instructor looked at my security tray and said "good shit", I was genuinely happy and proud. It was an odd experience to have someone yell at you constantly, but then be happy they praised you.
In the off chance you were one of my instructors: thank you, and go fuck yourself.
So basically all the harshness of military training but with giant pompous idiots running everything and none of the benefits. Incredible.
Unfortunately when I take yelling however, I laugh. I can’t help it. I have a subconscious knee jerk urge to just laugh at someone when they’re trying to yell at me and discipline me in that way. I know because my dad was in the Marines. He was a black belt instructor. He basically has a PHD in yelling. Yet when he yells like that to me I have the subconscious urge to laugh hysterically that I have to hold in, which then turns into a big goofy smirk that I can tell just infuriates him even more.
There are plenty of physically demanding leadership development courses for civilians out there. Outward Bound and NOLS come to mind. OB was born from the observation that experienced sailors survived shipwrecks while inexperienced ones didn't. I feel like the irony of all of this is that there are tons of programs for vets to help them to become entrepeneurs or successful business people, yet few veterans who are super successful in any of their post miltary lives. Not sure that is the best rolemodel.
Note, I say this as a Marine veteran who despite numerous degrees is still struggling. If boot was the key to my success, wtf happened?

As the son of a Navy vet, I don't understand the "I'm gonna fuck you up after you ring the bell!" I thought ringing the bell was essentially saying "I can't do this I'll do the 45 minutes paperwork to get reassigned in the morning" But I DO know as a lawyer that if you take US military dress and use it for financial profit when you're not a veteran it's a federal felony
Stolen valor is a serious crime. If you want to know whether or not he is a real Marine ask him about his MOS. Ask him what unit he served in. What was his final rank when he got out. If he makes things up on the fly then he’s not a real Marine and this is stolen valor which can land him in prison. Not to mention that nobody would ever want to hire you if you have a serious felony like that on your criminal record.
@@therealspeedwagon1451Stolen valor is a perfectly legal 1st amendment activity. It’s stupid as all hell, but as long as you don’t use it for monetary gain, you’re good to go in the eyes of the law.
@@therealspeedwagon1451 lmao it is not a serious crime in any way. It’s one of the least serious crimes I can think of actually
No but embellishing your military service to make money off your so called expertise is.
@@therealspeedwagon1451 "Stolen valor is a serious crime"... No. Its a pointless law, and only applicable if profited from:
"FRAUDULENT REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT RECEIPT OF MILITARY DECORATIONS OR MEDALS.-Whoever, *with intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefit*, fraudulently holds oneself out to be a recipient of a decoration or medal described in subsection (c)(2) or (d) shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than one year, or both.’’
...Otherwise known as - Fraud. Which, also happens to be illegal but doesnt require some stupid legislation to specify it. Walking around with a uniform on is freedom of expression and a protected activity. Stolen Valor as a whole is stupid and pointless.
The "instructors" strike me as former privates finally able to smoke somebody, but not really knowing how to do it properly.
To be fair, 3 of the "instructors" were actual special forces or adjacent. A Marine Raider/Recon, Navy Seal, and a S.E.R.E instructor. They should be smarter than this. The baldy is a straight up Lance Corporal that never got to experience being in a leadership role.
@@TheMasterblah I was mainly talking about baldy, but by going along with him, the others should be ashamed of themselves- *especially if they are former operators. In truth, I'd bet they all "lost their DD214" though.
@@TheMasterblah Notwithstanding, there's something "wrong" with them. And they're at least grifters.
Part of the military experience is not just the building you up part, but the not knowing what will happen. It in my opinion having served, it takes a lot of courage to sign your name on the dotted line. People who join these stupid projects know they will never be deployed to a combat zone or anything that would make them uncomfortable.
Thanks for this video brother, thanks for your service
If you are worth "nine figures", the biggest way to flex would be to pay other people to do this training for you.
paying 18k to get yelled at, they're offering 20k+ for the guard and basic isn't even hard
They're "entrepreneurs" paying to not get into a 4 - 6y contract, get the experience and go home and work on their 8fig biz
They took everything constructive about basic training and only kept the part where you get yelled at. Also it costs a stupid amount of money
@@erikuu96 I can't speak for every cycle at every location, but this is far from the experience you get in BCT or Boot.
@@bodyrumuae2914 I think his post was sarcasm
@erikuu96 that's what the guard is for. I joined the guard because I wanted to be in the military, but I also wanted to make better money. So I do my one weekend a month, my two weeks a year and my deployments, and I went to the same training as active duty.

Even then they can just kick you out if they feel like it
@jamessabins887 That makes it their fault. They failed. The power trip is the instant following of their orders. It's all a power trip. If you ring out. It's on you.
@mrheart4242 like I said you could follow all the orders and they could just say "you didn't do this right - you're out, you're done no refunds"
Yes. I agree they do that. I am also saying they get a thrill watching soft children quit and hang their head.
I am a Marine.went in at 17 years old.it was a hard, cold, and rude awakening. I did a lot of the more f'ed up training. Like spending 3 days and nights running from a pursuit. Getting dropped 3 miles out in the gulf out to swim back after treading water for an hour and spending 7 days in a swamp. Dropped off shore then burried in sand overnight. Just to have to run miles the next day in cold wet gear. The first thing you learn is comfort is not a necessity. People who have never slept under the stars for a blanket. Well they will drop fast.
It still will never compare to watching someone quit, simply because it's hard.
3 days is literally no work, i got paid to train, these dudes are clowns
"Hope is not a course of action"
Did the dude really say that? Hope/Morale are the most important parts of a cohesive unit.
The proper military verse is "hope is not a method". Immediate recognition of a misquote.
3 weeks without food, 3 days without water, 3 hours in extreme weather, 3 minutes without air, 3 seconds without hope. Can't keep going if you decide that it's over.
I think that's why the ancient Greeks had hope as the one thing left in Pandora's jar.
It ain't that big...
"Hope is not a COA" is super old advice in the Army. Basically, don't plan on having hope alone.
Big respect for being a Drill Sergeant! Like a good parent DS’s pissed me off in basic however, I would love to thank them and shake their hand after the fact. 🤘
Listening to this video reminds me so much of when I met the owner of 88 Tactical. Dude was so proud of him creating a "training program" for people who weren't military but wanted the experience.
The fact anyone would think 3 days of being yelled at while doing extreme exercises would equate to marine/seal/ranger training who train for 6 months to 3 years is crazy. I wouldn’t even put it with space force training. Real Instructors want you to succeed these guys want you to quit because they think it’s cool. So cringe.
Who is really selling these programs as equal to marine/seal/ranger training? Are the murder death kill guys really saying that or is everyone just assuming those people think that? It seems more like a straw man that makes it a lot easier to criticize the MDK guys. If that is really how they are marketing it, then okay, that seems stupid and cringeworthy. However, if people are significantly overstating what they are claiming so they can critique that fictitious claim, then that's kind of deceptive.

Thanks for spelling that out. Guys that went through special forces training should keep that inclusive. That lifestyle is not for everyone. Rock on Sarg.
The scariest thing isn’t a drill Sgt screaming at you, the scariest thing is them talking directly and quietly at you.
This, this is where I seen a few dudes break down and cry during basic. I went through basic at 33 and had a Dad who did this to me, so I knew what was happening with bringing the problem kid off to the side and giving him his first stern, in the face talking too. Thats where they broke. That was the attitude changer. They never had that before getting to basic, and it fucking worked. After that talking to, their attitude did a 180.
That's exactly why my company's Drill Sgt in basic, rarely ever raised his voice. It could be intimidating or friendly it just depended on how you would want to try approaching him. The ones who always screamed became a running joke to all of us. The female Drill Instructors thought screaming is the only way to constantly speak, I'm not kidding either that was all I ever saw them do when talking to any recruit in basic, and I went where Drill Sgt are made.
